Netflix Ragnarok concluding series 2 - disappointing but not surprising...

I would still recommend watching at least nine episodes of the Netflix Norwegian series of Ragnarok - for its impressive depiction of the mythic past re-emerging into a modern industrial town - but there is no doubt that the series lost its way during the second series and did not finish well.

It was corrupted by just the usual stuff: Leftist Political Correctness and money (funny how they always go-together nowadays). Corrupted by PC; because it was always in-there, upfront in the plot (environmentalism and sexual revolution - presented as unreservedly Good Things).

And unrepented evil always does corrupt. That's what it is for

So the Leftist propaganda inevitably grew to overwhelm the mythic truth - and damaged the quality by egregious plotlines, and the multiplication of left-symbolic incidents and characters.

And money? Well, the inner story dynamic pointed to the need for a conclusion, a denouement, at the end of Series 2; but (I guess) financial considerations dictated turning the series into a soap, by stringing-out and delaying the resolution, at whatever price of both character consistency and narrative drive.

It kind of petered-out... to prepare the way for series 3 (4, 5?).

So it goes - and I knew it would. Nonetheless, there was something unexpectedly good and true there, at first.

"I would still recommend watching at least none" -- okay, I can do that.
