Eowyn was, of course, disguised as the male rider Dernhelm, and we are told she blended-into the mass of other riders, indistinguishably.
These pictures therefore inform us that the Riders of Rohan fought the Battle of Pellennor Fields wearing metal basques with twin conical 'breast'-plates, that fully revealed their legs and buttocks...
I must admit that this was not how I personally saw the Riders of Rohan with my minds eye; and I rather wish I hadn't discovered the fact.

I agree. That's quite a leap from what was intended.
This is a good example of why I am generally suspicious of anything created by guys named Frank.
I can't conceive of what would draw anyone's eye towards Eowyn and not notice first and foremost that the Witch-king has been mistakenly drawn with visible forearms (and calves ?).
I definitely wont be informing my son of this. Let him live a lie.

It gets pretty warm on those Pellenor fields.
Frazetta was known for the Conan illustrations, for the animated movie Fire and Ice, etc. My dad had a collection of his art. Lots of nudity, very graphic, etc. Not a moral judgment on his art, I'm just not sure how familiar your readers will be with his art.
I'm betting that had Frank Frazetta illustrated Mary Poppnis, she would have been equally unencumbered by swirling robes. Of course, being a Frazetta nun, she would wield a 48" steel bladed ruler for miscreant students. :-)
Frazetta...I had several of his posters on my wall as a teen and may still have a collected works book around here somewhere (where my kids won't find it 'til I'm dead). Good times.
He should have stuck with Conan.
