It seems clear that many people want nothing more than peace, rest, sleep etc - as is clear from many inscriptions on tombs.

Of course, there are plenty of passages in the Gospels in which Jesus offers peace - yet there the context shows that he meant something more and different from rest, quietness etc. Bruce Charltonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09615189090601688535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4683970826895755480.post-81848572580517224662020-04-16T20:43:53.602+01:002020-04-16T20:43:53.602+01:00I suspect most people who want a static heaven don...I suspect most people who want a static heaven don't have joyful family lives. @...@William - That's how I thin about it too.

@R - "Would you say that "being" is dynamic or static?" The answer depends how you define 'being'. The defnition for the static Heaven folk might be something like: a state of aliveness with retained receptivity, but not separateness of self nor self-awareness. Or, some people seem to yearn for total re-absorption into the unified divineness - in which case there would be no separate awareness, the distinct self would be annihiliated. I think the true heaven must comprise elements of both but the only one that can comprise elements of both is the dynamic heaven so I see that as the full and true heaven and the other as only a partial incomplete one.William Wildbloodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13231219533755925897noreply@blogger.com
