But if you say "don't protect yourself" you need to qualify that. There are fools in the Old Testament sense and Fools in the New Testament sense. It is possible to walk unguarded through life, perceiving it as some sort of garden, and eventually to walk into some catastrophe or trap of the devil. “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7) Here I take fear to mean the understanding that we are subject to laws the following of which leads to life and the violation of which leads, ultimately, to death. So, fear not the world but be a fool for Christ. "Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe." (Proverbs 28:26)Albrechtnoreply@blogger.com
