Daily blogging has been driven by my need to sort-out certain themes (inititially this was political correctness) - but at present there are none (or none suitable for blogging, at any rate).
Also, various lines of evidence suggest that the degree of interest in this blog seems to have peaked a while back, and be on a downslope.
Therefore it seems appropriate that I move to intermittent, not daily, blogging unless or until I again become gripped by 'a problem'.

Glad to hear you've figured everything out. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your writing.

ReplyDeleteHa, ha, great reply.

That's the way of it, I'm afraid! Every generation has to figure things out again for itself, and it seems in the internet age each miniature blogosphere figures things out anew every five years or so, as old bloggers retire and new ones arise. So be it.
The internet has a terrible way of setting us up to develop pseudo-"relationships" with our favourite bloggers, and then when these blog-relationships are suddenly ruptured, we feel somewhat hollowed out, even grief-stricken if we've come to depend on our favourite blogs as a daily "lifeline" to sanity. May I gently suggest to readers that if they are feeling this way about Bruce's decision, they need to take this opportunity to find and cement some real-life relationships, which is what we are made for, after all. (I have learned this lesson personally in the past; that is why I offer it.)
Don't be a stranger to us, Bruce - especially all four of us who actually enjoy the NCP. ;)
Lawrence Auster...now you.
ReplyDeleteI am immensely grateful for your writing.
Even your daily short thoughts on anything would be very welcome!
ReplyDeleteSitting down with my coffee in the morning and reading your latest post is one of the pleasures of my day!
This is one of the only blogs whose perspective on faith and God I find extremely valuable.
ReplyDeleteMost of the "Christian" bloggers I find corrupt in one way or another, but you always seem to genuinely seek out the true, the right, the good.
I agree with Matthew C. You always seem to genuinely seek out the true, the right, the good. And I am similar to JP, reading your blog with coffee is one major pleasure of my day. You should keep writing daily if possible.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I noticed is that you seem to tend to be mostly focusing on English-speaking (and mostly English/British) authors.
If possible, I would also like to read your reviews on authors like Soren Kierkegaard etc.
Bruce, my plate is full of problems. How about I throw a few of them your way?
ReplyDeleteWhat about commentary on / analysis of current events? A non-evil journal?
ReplyDeleteI would really like to read that.
I am glad this has not meant a cessation of sharing your insights!
