The Perennial Philosophy, Mormonism, Mainstream Christianity on the nature and location of God

*

The Perennial Philosophy says that Man shares his fundamental nature with God; and that God is within us.

Mormonism states that Man shares his fundamental nature with God; and that God is a distinct and separate personage.

Mainstream Christianity states that God's fundamental nature is utterly different from Man's; and that God is a distinct and separate personal entity.

  1. Not by default at least - because of the fall! It is believed that Christ comes to reside in us (Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.) and we also come to share in his divine nature.
