Beyond the Benedict option - exile, Deseret, dhimmi, meta-church, Hasidic, Amish etc.

This article is by far the most thorough and thought-provoking examination of the various future options for serious Christians in an increasingly-hostile West:

As I posted elsewhere, I am very happy to see some of my favorite blogs taking this seriously. I look forward to the discussion.

I am attracted to the meta-Church option, as one among many. Worldwide, those that could be with us are very numerous. It is only with the Western elites that we have lost the culture war. The Western elites are powerful, but by no means a majority of the world. Then again, there are real, but less visible forces. See 2 Kings 6:16-17.

I just left a comment on that post, but the system wasn't taking my second comment, so I will post it here.

The original post is about a political-social response in the future, and it is good to have this discussion, but there are important things that need to be done right now.

1. Take heed to yourselves (1 Tim. 4:16). As they say, in the event of rapid cabin depressurization, put on your mask first.

2. Protect your family. See, for example:

3. Strengthen friends and peers, especially those wavering and under pressure.

4. Strengthen your church. For Latter-day Saints and other small-o orthodox churches, this will mean supporting our leaders. Other churches may face schism over the issue of marriage.
