If we have concluded (perhaps from reading the IV Gospel) that it is true that Jesus came to save sinners; then Christianity is neither a doing nor an achieving religion - and being a Christian is not about self-transformation during this, our mortal life.
All of these attainments are mostly about our character and circumstances - and as such they are contingent and selective...
Whereas Jesus Christ's offer to Men was not to the best and luckiest - but for people of essentially all characters and circumstances.
Indeed, Christianity is not even about what we want...
Instead, being a Christian is about what it is we want-to-want!
To clarify; we may not, here-and-now, actually want salvation to eternal Heavenly life more than we want anything else...
But we do absolutely need to want-to-want to follow Jesus Christ to eternal Heavenly life more than we want anything else.
The Good News is that want-to-want is the actual, essential, and sufficient basis of being-a-Christian and attaining salvation - and this is a thing attainable by Men of any character and all circumstances.
