As an aside, the mistaken premise that "Nobody knows what he's like" within the joke started me wondering...how many Christians believe that to be true?

Mormons would disagree, for a start. And I think they're correct; in the sense that (because we are made in His image - implying the opposite also) God the Father would-be/ is recognizably a man in form.
