Grateful for failures

The most impressive examples of divine providence in my life, were in the way that failures to achieve what I wanted, were so necessary in directing me towards my most vital good fortune. It didn't always seem that way at the time - but in retrospect, it was important that I did not go too far in the wrong direction; I very often needed to be stopped.

You might enjoy the movie Fierce Grace — grace that is ‘fierce’ as opposed to comfy. Exactly what you’re talking about.

Stop reading my mind. Please.

I mean, I would say that I have a clone who wrote that. Or that I suffer from insomnia and I wrote in a blog while I am dreaming.

100% agreed with you. God has a way of dropping the bomb over a person's heart that when looking backwards it is impossible not to say: "God was right, I would have done exactly the same thing... I totally deserved it".

Or this: For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, and He FLOGS every son whom he receives." (Heb 12:6) "Flog" here is the same word as Jesus being flogged by the Romans.
