Bounded consumerism and the 1970s ideal of Voluntary Simplicity

In my late teens and twenties, I was an advocate and practitioner of what could be termed Voluntary Simplicity (VS) - with "simplicity" interpreted in a relative but not total sense. 

The idealistic and extreme advocates of VS were proposing a return to an essentially medieval feudal agrarian system; but medieval minus the Lord of the Manor and the Catholic church. In other words; pretty much the kind of society of many small farmers and craftsmen that was envisaged by William Morris in News From Nowhere. 

However, my less radical idea was to (more or less) stop overall economic growth, except for benefits due to improvements in (simple) technology* and methods - on the basis that by 1975 we had "enough" stuff; and indeed we should reduce our material needs in order to allow more discretionary time ad space for individual freedom. 

Thus; consumerism would not altogether be abolished, but would be "bounded". 

This also applied at the level of individual persons; whereby paid work was understood in terms of a "deal" whereby so much in the way of resources was traded for so much time and effort in labour; and the individual could - and I would have said should - reduce his wants in order to allow more time for discretionary activities. 

This is, of course, the attitude advocated by HD Thoreau in the Economy chapter of Walden. 

The activities to be pursued during the time and with the energies liberated by restricting material-wants were high-minded: things such as contemplating the natural world, reading and writing, doing arts and crafts, communal social participation in music and dancing - and the like. 

In short; a somewhat "Merrie England" sort of existence! 

When I eventually became a paid worker, this was exactly what I did in my own life. I had qualified as a doctor, and therefore could command a much higher-than-average pay-per-hour; but I chose not to maximize income by doing the full allocation of medical hours; but instead to trade-off about half the potential salary in order to get about double the free time. 

Such an attitude was actually fairly mainstream, or at least not unusual and fairly influential, in leftish (as I was) Britain of the 1970s - and (I later discovered) had a fairly well-known international advocate in the French economist Andre Gorz. 

It went with a tendency to eschew fashion, and the accumpulation of possessions; and expenditure on things like lavish cars and holidays.  

But through the middle 1980s, there was instead an almost society-wide return of aggressive consumerism; with a desire and expectation for participation in frequent rounds of fashion, technological novelties, and complexification of life - all of which was linked to higher social status. 

This has continued up to the present; and has transformed what is now called the "Green" movement from one based on "back to the land" deliberately simple agrarianism; to the current state-/multinational-/ multibillionnaire-/ bureaucratic-managerial-dominated compulsory-subsidized waves of techno-fashion. 

These technologies are by intent anti-nature, anti-farming; and in-practice focused entirely on pseudo-scientific and officially-mandated concepts such as CO2 climate, or the levels of other chemicals - the individual person is regarded as unable to make such evaluations; and is supposed to accept and obey these diktats without questioning.  

In terms of individual aspirations; the social ideal is very far from Morrisite, Thoreauvian, Voluntary Simplicity; but instead success is to work long hours for an ever-increasing salary to sustain ever-increasing and publicly-advertised consumption. 

"Leisure" is focused on the purchase and display of ever-changing fashions; and expensive pastimes such as owning high status cars and boats; participating in expensive sports; and travel to exotic locations. 

Even gardening has become ever more fashion-driven, expensive, and technological! 

And farming is aggressively demonized rather than idealized.

The whole area of food-production and consumption has been shaped by top-down media, NGO and government campaigns emanating from mega-corporations and using PSYOPS. 

So that farm animals are painted as an evil and destructive indulgence; meat-eating is wicked and to be abolished (for the masses) in favour of factory-made protein matter; and veganism is prescribed as spiritually virtuous - and has been orientated towards eating ever-more artificial and imported substances.  

A very far cry from the hopes and dreams of the neo-medievalists of the 1970s!

Such have been, over the past half-century, the dominant trend of choices and decisions made by Western Society and by most of the individual persons in these societies. 

While there was much that was unfounded and incoherent about the ideals of Voluntary Simplicity - and the whole notion lacked a basis in the strong motivations that only an active and spiritual religion can provide; what has replaced the seventies idealisations of nature and society has been a good deal worse! 

*My ideas of simple technology were influenced by EF Schumacher's "Intermediate Technology" as described in his book Small is Beautiful. 

Note: Some readers will notice that in my descriptions of neo-medievalism I did not mention Distributism, or the names of Hilaire Belloc and GK Chesterton. This is because I was not significantly aware of this 1920-30s movement during the 1970s, mostly because my perspective was coming out from atheism and the Left. However, I had read of Distributism in EF Schumacher's A Guide for the Perplexed, which I read on publication in 1977. Nonetheless; I had apparently more-or-less filtered-out this information, as being of little interest to me at the time - although I became very keen on it later when I had developed a more positive attitude to Christianity. 

Why So Many Kinds of intellectuals have been captured by "AI"

The vulnerability to "AI"-capture seems to run deepest among intellectuals - but this vulnerability extends across a very wide range of intellectual types - politicians, media executives, corporate managers, finance entrepreneurs, technocrats, academics, teachers, totalitarians, atheists and traditionally religious, New Age spiritual seekers... 

Indeed, no class or kind of intellectual persons seem to have much resistance to capture.

It seems that almost all have by now succumbed; and with those who have not succumbed... well, it seems like just a matter of "not yet"*.  

Why are intellectuals especially vulnerable?

My best guess is that intellectuals have always tended to engage with life via models; and models are abstract simplifications of the boundless complexity of reality. Such models include mathematics, sciences, politics, economics; and indeed all academic and bureaucratic subjects. 

This second-hand engagement via abstract simplifications is valuable insofar as the models are useful; albeit the usefulness of a model may not have been checked, and even if a model has been checked these checks are only retrospective (can only be retrospective). 

The prospective, future limitations of a model (which limitations are many and intrinsic exactly because it is an abstract simplification) are not knowable or predictable in advance; and indeed when the model has captured a person, the failures of a model will usually be denied, explained-away.  

The value of intellectuals is not that they understand Life, or The World, or The Universe, or God; but that they understand the model. 

Insofar as the model is useful or valued, so intellectuals are useful or valued. 

But the problem, the weakness, is that intellectuals (of all kinds) so-often depend for their position and self-esteem on maintaining the special value of second-hand understandings (of all kinds). 

One malign tendency among intellectuals is to assert the primacy of the model: that the model is itself The Thing being-modelled. 

And another tendency is to increase the abstraction and complexity of the model, partly to protect their own expertise - e.g. to keep the model difficult enough to elude external analysis and critique, and to impress/ bamboozle/ subordinate the layman. 

I mean that intellectuals are prone to elaborating or generating a complex model that covers ever-more ground. 

Indeed, intellectuals tend to press their models to such a degree of complexity and abstraction, that they themselves do not understand the model in which they claim expertise. 

Instead intellectuals may claim expertise in using the model.

So the situation arises that many intellectuals suffer the profound and existential disadvantages of a belief-in, a commitment to, the primacy of merely secondhand models of reality...

Yet these are models which the intellectuals themselves do not understand; instead these are models that the intellectual merely serves (or claims to serve).

This situation, although common, is wrong - is indeed evil; insofar as service to the un-understood, service to something whose nature is not known, is evil.  

So-called-AI is a cluster of abstract, highly complex, and un-understandable models of reality. 

There can be no expertise in understanding an "AI" model.  

As such; "AI" technologies suffer all the intrinsic disadvantages of all models; but "AI" also intrinsically lack the potential value (which is a pragmatic and retrospective value) of the most valid models.   

Therefore, the special vulnerability of intellectuals to capture by "AI" is in the first-place a consequence of the evil abuses of secondhand models as a way of relating to reality; secondly that "AI" models are of a model-type that cannot validly be used, since they are un-understandable. 

The answer to this situation is in striving to eschew un-understandable models of reality - and to reject their primacy; and to recognize that to be useful a model must genuinely be understood. 

Such a moral discipline will reject a great deal more than "AI" - but exactly that is necessary+. 

Because all abstract models of reality need to be simple enough that we genuinely understand them: and if we are to regard them as central to our lives, we need personally to understand them. 

It is not difficult, as a mental process. 

I believe that we all already-have a simple, innate and direct (because God-given) contact with primary Life and Reality. 

The intellectual deception is in demanding a more comprehensive, hence too-complex, typically too abstract, understanding - than that which is understandable and knowable.

In a nutshell; modern intellectuals of all stripes and types have become experts at self-validating, self-serving, self-deception; by pretending (for advantages of self-esteem, for claimed social expediency) to understand that which they do not understand...

Which is why intellectuals are so especially vulnerable to capture by the un-understandable models of "AI".

+ I mean that if someone tries to reject "AI" while retaining their commitment to some abstract, complex, un-understood model/s - then that person will end-up by embracing "AI". 

And this is exactly what has happened to so many intellectuals over the past four years. 

As they come to realize that "AI" is not qualitatively different from that-to-which-they-have-outsourced-their-thinking-and-judging; rather than rejecting their practice of outsourcing, such persons instead expand their outsourcing such as to include "AI". 

*NOTE: My concern here is spiritual. Of course; the effect of "AI" will be to hasten the destruction of Western Civilization. But in that resepct "AI" is just one of many, simultaneous and synergistic global strategies (e.g. everywhere war, financial parasitism, purposive economic and agricultural destruction, mass migration, the CO2 Climate agenda etc etc). And, after all, the West is by-now (and increasingly) the most extremely and unrepentantly evil civilization in world history - such that striving to "save" WC in the absence of a prior spiritual rebirth, entails a personal commitment to advance purposive evil. No: The most significant harm of "AI"-capture is spiritual: 1. spiritual outsourcing; and 2. spiritual outsourcing of almost the worst conceivable kind - its being evidently both addictive in the short-term, and purposively soul-destroying in a cumulative and self-stoking fashion. To observe more and ever-more once-respected persons, across the board of thinkers and intellectuals, so-willingly succumbing to AI-dolatry of one sort of another - is a spiritually-dismaying experience. I should add that although AI-capture is common across the board, and not confined to intellectuals; I believe that its spiritual damage is most severe and pervasive - and negatively transformative - among the intellectual class.  

The rise and fall of totalitarian projects is just Office Politics

News-watchers get terribly excited about reports of declining branches of the global totalitarian System. 

For example, there is currently Less top-down rhetorical emphasis on the CO2 climate agenda, although all the vast legislation is still in place.

But this is just Office Politics, the kind of stuff that happens within mega-corporations; the rise and fall of different branches and roles; the transfer of staff and resources that constitutes the frequent "reorganizations" that are endemic in all modern bureaucracies.

As some things are relatively wound down, restructured, outsourced etc; other activities are expanded such as "AI", the military, and Intelligence services.

From the outside this bureaucratic reorganization can appear to be, or spun as, decline or destruction; but this may (often does, as in my professional experience of the National Health Service!) mask actual overall expansion.

On the other hand, organizational expansion is compatible with declining coordination, efficiency, and functional effectiveness; and indeed I believe this is actually happening to the global totalitarian System...

It is both getting bigger, and also more chaotic.

Barbecue emergency! The desperation of the UK bureaucrats

From time to time, something relatively minor happens that nonetheless strikes me as indicating an inflexion point in the accelerating dysfunctionality of the UK. 

One was on the first day of 2000, when there were some hours of delay in opening the Blair government flagship project of the Millennium Dome - much hyped and vaunted, and years in the planning - so that the Great and Good of the nation were kept hanging around in queues outside.

This event presaged the dominating trend of the next two decades.

Last Friday was another, when the very First usage of a national system of smartphone alerts...

- which override muting to generate a blaring siren, supposedly to alert and mobilize the population in the event of national physical emergencies such as war or earthquakes - 

...Was instead used simultaneously to advise tens of millions of citizens throughout England and Wales Not to light barbecues or fireworks if they are located in the middle of high risk wildfire country.

I knew, when it was set-up last September, that the system would quickly degenerate into Crying Wolf, and be abused for propaganda and manipulation; but I did not expect that this would be done straight away and the first time of use! 

I fully expected that the managers would realize that, to serve their long term purposes, they would need to ensure that At First the system must be restricted to Real emergencies.

But no. They could not resist abusing their new toy further to crank-up the messaging in support of their collapsing CO2 climate hobby-horse.

My interpretation is that this is a significant revelation of reckless desperation, as the bureaucratic totalitarians feel their strategy of omni-surveillance and micro-control being superseded by the global-war-mongers and socio-economic wreckers of the Agents of Chaos. 

Great Reset-ers and Agenda 2030-ites see the writing on the office wall; and hope to save their jobs and power by enlisting the fears of the masses to support their own continued "safe" subservience.

We see in many places the velvet glove of bribery and brain-washing being replaced by the iron fist of punishment and coercion - all of which actually feeds the fires of chaos, and hastens the downfall of the bureaucrats.

The West (the globalist totalitarian project) is Not "Marxist"

It embarrasses me when anti-Left bloggers use the word "Marxist" to describe modern Western governments and society. 

There are no Marxists in The West now, at least not in politics or public life; and have not been for several decades. 

Indeed; there are in practice no Marxists even among those who proudly embrace the term for themselves! This is evident from what they actually say and actually do: what they make their priorities, and it does not matter to what they merely pay occasional lip-service. 

(Leftism is in its essence incoherent, because oppositional in nature - therefore, in a rhetorical sense, any of its old manifestations may be re-activated at any time, in order to neutralize opposition or garner support for the dominant agenda. Leftists are quite happy to pretend that they still care about the proletariat and will do something effective to help native working men... So long as this does not interfere in any way with their current project - which may be directly opposed to the well-being of the Proletariat; whether this be antiracism, feminism, the Birdemic/ Peck, or currently "AI". Words and promises mean nothing to the ruling Establishment - except as means to manipulate.) 

Marxism was a form of Leftism that had the Economy as its focus; especially economic ownership, and the "distribution" of wealth and/or salaries. 

Economic organization (i.e. nationalization, public ownership) was of great, often central, importance to Marxism. 

And Class was its primary unit of analysis. 

Thus although Marxism was one of the formative ideologies of modern Leftism - so were Abolition, Pacifism, Trades Unionism, Womens' suffrage, and Nonconformist activism (including prohibition). 

However, ancestral influences are not present realities. Long-term incremental evolution eventually makes a qualitative difference.  

In fact: Marxism is long-since dead in The West.

The prevalent and hegemonic Leftism is a post-1960s New Leftism that includes but is not restricted to various mixtures of: antiracism; feminism (i.e. firstly pandering to women, however later favouring some other sexual identities); the sexual revolution (originally advocating promiscuity and divorce, but since continually developing); and CO2-climate-"environmentalism". 

The modern dominant Left is almost entirely uninterested by social class; except where class attitudes are, in practice, inverted: with the "native male proletariat" becoming probably the major demonized group in The West; and globalist finance-billionaires probably the most-influential and admired social grouping - whose strategy conceptualizations statements (especially United Nations Agenda 2030) are fundamental to all Western Establishment strategy. 

The New Left is profoundly uninterested by Nationalization, and indeed the Nation and the people. Indeed- quite the reverse; since international-money vampirizes and discards nations in pursuit of global strategies. 

Accusations of "Marxism" may be evidence of confusion or ignorance on the part of the user; or apparently may be an attempt to discredit a point-of-view,  or sow confusion and weaken opposition. 

But using the word does harm in clouding our understanding of the nature and scope of the Left-themed ideology of dominating globalist totalitarianism.  

Which is why the Marxism-accusation has (much like its inverse "Capitalism") become a hallmark of malign PSYOPS. 

Not a war to win, but a war to destroy

Long-term (six year plus) readers will know of my recurrent "obsession" with the subject of evil; and the nature and definition of evil. 

This is because I believe that the nigh-universal lack of understanding of evil has rendered almost-everybody helpless in the face of a very powerful class of persons who have successfully engaged the hearts and minds of a very high proportion of the population of The West, and many other places. 

Bluntly; lack of understanding of evil has led many hundreds of millions of people (at least) into supporting strategic evil - and with a clear conscience, because they regard that evil as actually "good".

In other words, the inability to understand the nature of evil has led to moral inversion: what is really and intentionally evil is regarded as good, and vice versa.  

And people are not (as they may once have been) merely victims of manipulation - because it is of the nature of evil that once embraced it increases (evil feeds-upon itself).   

Thus we find that the nicest people are, on average, the most deluded; the most likely to be most powerfully supportive of the strategies of evil. 

This is particularly stark when the strategy being supported is a deliberately maximally-destructive war. 

And a war intended to embrace in destruction its supporters - themselves, their families and friends, their homeland, their ideology and passionate convictions - all that they superficially suppose that that they hold most dear. 

A world war is openly being planned - with full public declaration, before our eyes, in the mass media - in the West: in the UK and Commonwealth, EU nations, the USA, and beyond. 

Indeed this war is becoming the only game in town: as a long term strategy war is displacing all the other evil-motivated plans/ "good causes" such as I term the Litmus Tests: socialism/ leftism, CO2 climate environmentalism, birdemic-healthism, antiracism and feminism, the sexual revolution etc. 

All are being wound-down, and preparations for war are building-up.  

What is worse - or rather worst - is that this war (which is, in part, intended to be an expansion of the war that has been going in Eastern Europe over the past four-plus years, and in the Middle East more recently, and incipiently in East Asia) is not a war to win; but a war intended to destroy.

What is already afoot and expanding in Europe, is war of a kind seldom or never seen before in human history. In this actual and coming war; although one side does indeed want to win, and wants an end to the war (or begins that way); those who control the the other side want this war to continue, to expand, to increase in intensity - without end-point.

This happens because those who control one side are not of that side, but are instead (successfully and without being detected) using that side primarily and ultimately to pursue all-round destructive purposes.

This is happening, the strategy is working; things are much worse than almost anyone - including the experts - realize; exactly because almost nobody in the West understands evil; and especially they do not understand the sheer negativity of evil.

War analysts (of all sides) consistently assume that war is about seeking benefit, a negative means towards positive goals; and will end when that benefit has been attained. 

But when a war has been created, and is being sustained and expanded, in order to destroy; and ultimately in order that the participants come to support that goal of destruction - then this is a very different matter. 

The developing war situation is one that cannot necessarily be stopped or reversed - even if there was a general and effective will to stop it - which there is not. 

Evil has such an easy time in the modern world because there are so very few people (and none with power) who are strongly on the side of God and Good.

The mass of people cannot and do not support Good because they do not believe Good exists, or has any objective meaning. Their vague notion of good is something that exists (temporarily) only psychologically; as culturally-contingent notions in the heads of themselves, and people like them. 

The idea that The Good is a part of Reality, or The Universe; is literally meaningless to mainstream modern people - it is not so much denied as something that simply does not make sense. 

But we need to recall that the war of this world is always and ultimately a spiritual war; so this is no exception. 

This is a ultimately war to induce people - as many as possible people, on all sides - to align with spiteful destruction as a spiritual goal.

And this happens by value-inversion; by inducing people to regard evil as good and vice versa; and this is easiest when evil is not understood. 

And this failure to understand evil becomes inevitable when people do not believe-in or understand Good. 

And this failure to understand goodness is inevitable because so many people have assimilated the official and culturally-mainstream fundamental assumptions - e.g. that there is no God, no spirit, no salvation: no possibility of external and objective purpose and meaning in the universe.  

The ongoing and accelerating war of destruction is a consequence of these deep and multi-generational cultural trends. 

This stuff is not some hypothetical future scenario; on the contrary this state of deep incomprehension and value-inversion describes where we are now, culturally. 

And where we are stuck; because it can be seen that the problems run very deep, and have many layers. 

Which is presumably why we are all marching blandly and blindly towards a vastly destructive and intentionally-endless war that nearly-everyone supports indirectly with sadistic vehemence. 

Note: those who publicly oppose the ongoing-upcoming war are also (very nearly always) part of the fundamental problem that has led to the war, and share the same war-generating fundamental assumptions. They do not oppose the war for Good reasons. 

Red Alert warning for Extreme Heat in UK!!!

Britain Burning Now! - spontaneous fires break-out across the nation 

The CO2 "Global Warmist" Climate agenda may be a dubious, indeed nonsensical exploded scam for the majority of the UK population; but for the managerial-intellectual class it is a profound spiritual issue - sometimes The most significant problem in the world today.

(Or, second only to the ultimate historical spiritual catastrophe of the UK pretending to have left the EU.) 

Consequently, the tax-funded (about 300 million pounds p.a.) and government-controlled weather forecaster The Met Office (function now re-named "Weather and climate change") has been going berserk in the past few days; because they have been counting down the nation to "evidence" of a climate emergency with a top-level Red-Alert of danger: 

“A red heat health alert [sic!] indicates a risk to life for even the healthy population"! 

This; because temperatures are guesstimated to reach around the mid-thirties Celsius (c 95 degrees Fahrenheit) in some sub-parts of England, for a day or two. 

Well; I do not dispute that this is hot, and I dislike hot weather more than most people. Fortunately we usually avoid the extremes here in at 55 degrees latitude North. 

But the fact is that literally millions of British holiday makers per summer pay substantial amounts of money to visit Spain, Greece, Turkey, Florida, and other very hot places for their holidays; in order to be confident of temperatures in the mid-thirties. 

Indeed, the climate-delusional among the wealthier managerial intellectual class often pay the extra money and personal inconvenience to gravitate to even hotter climes than these - such as Africa, Australia, or South Asia. 

And yet, somehow, these sun-seekers don't behave as if they were taking their lives in their hands... Indeed they often look forward to their holidays; and both during and afterwards insist on showing-and-telling everybody what A Great Time they had - apparently despite dodging death while battling Red Alert Heat Health conditions. 

In sum: in the UK weather forecasting has long-since been weaponized to generate ever-more "evidence" of global warmism. 

In an island nation famed for its temperate climate; those abroad would scarcely credit the number of front page news items there are about emergency weather warnings - either predicting "record breaking" temperatures, or noting that contrived weather stats (that nobody had ever thought about - or cared about) have been exceeded... for some arbitrary slice of time in a very particular locality...

If it is not "unseasonably" warm conditions, which include pleasantly mild winters; then there are warnings before, during, and after any storms - all of which are given names - because these "weather events" are supposed to be more frequent and extreme, which is supposed to indicate climate change. 

And then linking these causally to the latest globalist-capitalist totalitarian imperatives of making colossal profits from parasitically-destroying the economy/ farming/ energy/ trade/ retail/ housing, mass personal transportation etc - aka The Climate Agenda.  

The stark fact is that just as the Met Office cannot predict our Atlantic frontal-system weather three days ahead (except during the rare spells of high pressure - such as now)...

And nobody in the world can validly-predict the future climate of the planet, nor does anybody know what determines climate except for earth's climate being driven overwhelmingly by the long-term activity of the sun - which also cannot be predicted...

But even if it could validly be known that the UK climate was for-sure going to get warmer; then a Very Large majority of the population would regard that as a Good Thing...

As should be obvious not just from holiday destinations; but from the tens of millions of those who have, over the past several generations, moved to live abroad permanently - often specifically to live in hotter places. 

The magic of Big Money in overcoming common sense

The biggest frauds of recent decades have all involved Big Money overcoming common sense. 

Enough Big Money and, it is clear, people will believe what they know to be impossible - indeed they are positively eager and zealous to believe what they know to be impossible. 

A clear and uncontroversial example is the Theranos Fraud. 

I watched a speech by the alleged-CEO (but possibly just a puppet-front?) claiming they would develop a way of removing blood from veins without breaking the skin. 

This is obviously impossible - but most of the talk was about what enormous advantages there would be from such a breakthrough - how marvellous it would be if you could get blood out from blood vessels without needing to make a hole. 

The reported fact that "so many" people invested loads of money into this scheme (albeit mostly other peoples' money) - plus liberal helpings of pseudo-scientific gobbledegook - made people overcome what was obvious common sense, and assume that the impossible was actually possible.   

But Theranos was a negligible sideshow - one country and hundreds of millions of dollars, compared with the global fraud of hundreds of trillions due to the CO2 Climate scam, and the "AI" scam.

(Both actually occult parasitic totalitarian social engineering.) 

Yet, if it wasn't for the mind-distorting effect of Giga-dollar-money (and the vast forces of personnel and propaganda that it buys); both the CO2-Climate and "AI" claims would have very obviously failed the test of common sense.  

But when it comes to Climate and "AI"; the Bigness of the Money combines with the Bigness of the claims stuns people into a passive state of bewildered and gullible acceptance...

(i.e. A species of PSYOP.)

Surely (people infer) "they" couldn't be making such unimaginably, indeed un-believably, immense claims; if there was not a solid basis for them? 

Well, yes "they" have-done, can, and still-do Exactly That - and indeed the process has become routine.

"Business" as usual...

Enough money and resources - and people will believe... Anything.

Not just super-preppers. What are the covert assumptions of the high level globalist rulers?

Anyone who has a (more-or-less) coherent religious basis; can observe that the high level global ruling class is pursuing some kind of covert strategy - a long-term (multi-generational) hidden-agenda. 

This can be seen by examining the tenacity of the major ideological schemes - which I call Litmus Tests. 

In a world of fads and fashions and attention fatigue - mass immigration has been imposed upon all developed nations without exception over decades. The same applies to political Leftism (socialism, feminism, antiracism, sexual revolution), the CO2 Climate agenda, and now "AI" - and there are several other examples. 

All of these Just Are incoherent - both internally and between the strategies; and all are functionally-destructive at the international, national, and local levels. 

At a superficial level, these net-destructive programmes have all greatly enhanced the concentration of power and wealth among the globalist (and national) rulers - even as they dismantle the basis for that power and wealth, and accelerate eventual civilizational collapse. 

Some argue that this selfishness of "elites" is the primary cause of the Litmus Test strategies.

By this argument; the globalist rulers are merely a species of "prepper" - who are working together to ensure that they themselves and their allies; will be the ones to survive any major international downfall. Instead of remote mountain fastnesses, and little gangs based on self-sufficiency and low-tech...

The ruling-class preppers believe they can themselves best be preserved by town-sized survival zones, totalitarian control and organization; an elite supported and served by a small but powerful class of armed protectors/ enforcers; and an enslaved technological experts (apparently these are intended to do their work mostly by computers and the deployment of "AI" and robots...).

(NOTE: I do not regard this scenerio - or something similar - as actually possible in real life; but I do believe that They believe it and are motivated by it.)    

However; I regard it as a serious mistake to assume that selfishness is the primary motivating force behind these strategies.

Such a long-term commitment to the covert strategy, in the face of so many kinds of resistance; implies to me that "They" regard themselves as engaged in some kind of ultimately beneficial agenda... 

"Beneficial", that is, by a secular utilitarian argument; based on some very particular assumptions. 

What makes sense of the covert strategy is that They are convinced that there will be a massive and unavoidable collapse of global civilization; and that They suppose their plans are a rational and "best possible" response to this catastrophic inevitability. 

They are being told, and are telling each other, that the covert agendas are means to an end...

An end that is for the eventual benefit of "Mankind" - a course of action that will minimise the totality of inevitable suffering; and preserve as much of civilization as "realistically" possible.

They see themselves as tough-minded pragmatists and realists; who have the onerous responsibility of making very difficult choices - with the overall aim of getting the best achievable outcome from an unavoidably disastrous situation that will entail enormous human suffering and the deaths of literally billions - i.e. an assumption of looming certain death of a large majority of the world population. 

This kind of covert assumed and predicted framework, is probably the basis for the sustained cohesion and purpose of the globalist leadership class - and the basis for their energy, direction, and self-confidence - and self-superiority. 

Because apparently They see-themselves as noble rulers doing a dirty but necessary job that nobody else can or will do. 

And their personal enrichment and tyrannical powers are self-justified as necessary means to this necessary end. 

Yet; if that is indeed (more or less) the story They tell themselves; and even though it does contain some truth (for instance, I agree with an analysis that predicts that global civilization will collapse, and that billions will die) - that is not the whole story...

Because the story is rooted in secular utilitarian this-worldly assumptions and values, that are themselves intractably incoherent and cannot serve as a valid basis for any kind of "morality".

And this is what has led the global rulers into being willingly-manipulated into doing the work of demonic powers of evil. 

The real agenda behind the globalists covert agenda is one of the Satanic corruption and damnation of souls - and by this understanding: the globalist rulers are the first victims; eager dupes who, regardless of what happens in this-world in the future, have actually (as things stand now) chosen for themselves an eternal destiny of demonic servitude. 

The late poet Tony Harrison and the beliefs of characteristic 1980s liberalism

The poet Tony Harrison, who lived near me in Newcastle upon Tyne, has recently died (1937-2025); and then we also met some of his relations by marriage.

 

So he has been somewhat in mind lately, since there was a time in the late 1980s when I was on the left and also had a high regard for his writing. For a few years I probably regarded him as the best of living British poets. 

(Although - to provide context - I did not, and do not, rate any living poets very highly; so it was more a case of being the best of a relatively mediocre bunch!)

Consequently, I stumbled across this rather interesting discussion of Harrison as a representative of a type of Leftist writer with working class origins who - via education - became middle class and Establishment-approved - and who spent the rest of their lives brooding (without ever reaching a coherent conclusion!) on their own subsequent class alienation. 

There are many such writers, indeed just about all writers with such a social trajectory - another who I have discussed here is Alan Garner. 

This "problem" (if it is one) seems to be restricted to writers and certain other analogous types; because the many, many more people who not writers (such as my parents, many of my relatives and their circle of friends) who also experienced this class change - do not seem to have been much troubled by it! 

We lived a middle class professional family life for most of the year, and then spent visits and holidays staying with our working class grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins; without any of the angst or social friction so obsessively described in the post-war literature of Britain.

But my focus here is on the description of Harrison as a typical Leftist intellectual of the 1980s - a grouping to which I also belonged at that time (broadly, with a few reservations - as is usually the case). 

The author lists a set of beliefs that such people as Harrison and myself espoused: 

• strongly anti monarchy 
• strongly anti censorship 
• strongly anti religion 

• anti capitalist 
• anti racist 
• anti British Empire 

• anti America passively 
• pro feminist passively 
• pro gay passively 

• pro multiculturalism 
• pro democracy 
• pro welfare 
• pro miners / trade unions 
• pro learning, education, civilisation, civility 
• pro European Union

It can readily be seen that the 1980s was therefore a time of inflexion, between the (British originated) Old Left - focused on economics and class; and the (US originated) New Left (political correctness or "woke") that we have today - focused on antiracism, feminism and sexuality...

And "environment" - not mentioned in this list, but actually already very significant - albeit not near-exclusively focused on CO2/Climate manipulated delusion - which only became important from the 1990s. 

The Old to New shift also went from (supposedly) aiming at equality of opportunity; to (supposedly) aiming to enforce equality of outcome - and then to inverting outcomes to favour individuals who claim to be members of groups that were (supposedly) "historically under-represented". 

The fact that the 1980s Leftists beliefs were mutually incoherent and incompatible seems more obvious now than it did then - yet hostile incoherence somehow never did, or does, seem obvious to those of the Left. 

Extremely few people who were "socialists" in 1980, subsequently abandoned the Left over the next decades; despite that Leftism all-but inverted from idealizing native male working class men (e.g. in the 1984 national Miners' strike)...

To demonizing and attempting socially to annihilate (by multiple means) exactly the same group of people, accelerating from about a decade later (especially the Blair "New Labour" government of 1997 onward).  

This accomodationism of Leftists ought to be a matter of shame; because it was motivated by little more than unprincipled expedience and sheer mental laziness.  

A typical post-millennial Leftist is nowadays much more likely to idealize and aggrandize members of the hyper-wealthy "Davos" multi-billionaire class - than a coal miner or other manual worker!  

The history of Tony Harrison shows some detail of how this inversion happened; how these writers of working-class origin were co-opted into the globalist totalitarian strategy; a process marked by Harrison's lavish 1969 UNESCO "travelling scholarship" (six months fully-paid international travel for the whole family) - for a poet who who hadn't even published a book! 

In other words; Harrison had already been identified as a promising subversive New Leftist "asset", in his twenties - whether he realized it or not; or else (very probably) he would never have been awarded this luxury freebie in the first place. 

It is a sad reflection of the value-bankruptcy of Leftism that vanishingly few of the ex-working class writers who were used as totalitarian assets were in the slightest degree aware of their role, of their "raison d'etre" among those who published, praised, paid and awarded status to poets and other authors. 

Typically, such writers instead mistook their own chronic, obsessive, class-based resentments and spite - for anti-Establishment radicalism and righteous anger! 

And were encouraged in this by social incentives. 

And the same situation nowadays applies to writers who are - instead of being socialist ex-working class men - are women, racial or ethnic "minorities", or sexually non-biological.

 

I suppose one of the main jobs of such writers - from the perspective of those who "manage" their careers and sustain their livelihoods; is to spread through books, plays, TV, movies etc the typical and pervasive Left-intellectual milieu of negation, resentment, atheist-materialism, and a moralistic focus on this-worldly gratification. 

A skilful and cultured author like Tony Harrison performed this role very effectively. 

As do many of his less-skilled and uncultured successors. 

Well; we at least can observe such people across time; analyse and learn from their experiences - including when they themselves did not learn. 

The World War II Bomber Mafia nearly lost the war for Britain - an early instance of parasitic bureaucratic delusion

The West in 2025 is replete with parasitic bureaucratic delusions - such as the CO2 climate psychosis, antiracism and xenophilia, feminism, pseudo-healthism and so on - which each weaken, and together will probably destroy, our nations and civilization.  

An early example of the parasitic bureaucratic delusion phenomenon was the Bomber Doctrine which led to the Bomber Mafia - which in World War II dominated the thinking of Winston Churchill and those with strategic control of the UK military. 

In brief; the Bomber Doctrine was that long-range bombing could win a major war, by destroying the enemy's capacity to wage war and creating a state of national chaos - after which the Army could simply "walk in" and take-over. The Navy was consigned to a very minor role altogether. 

This hypothesis (it was hardly even that - more of a story, scenario, set-of-assertions) was warmly received after the years of mass-slaughterous infantry stalemate in the First World War; and the Bomber Doctrine became the basis for the continued-existence and expansion of the RAF. 

Unless you have read some of the things said in the years leading up to WWII and even during that war, you probably could not believe the extent to which it was seriously argued that strategic bombing was, by itself, sufficient to win the war with Germany. 

Arguing that, for instance, Fighter Command was not necessary - was indeed a waste of resources that should be directed into building more and bigger bombers. 

If it had not been for the foresight, ability, character and intransigence of Hugh Dowding (in charge of Fighter Command leading up to the war); Britain would undoubtedly have lost the Battle of Britain.  

Bomber Command even regarded the 1944 invasion of France and Western Europe as a needless waste of resources that they could better have used - and strongly opposed D-Day, tried not to cooperate with planning - but were eventually compelled into reluctant cooperation. 

The appeal of the Bomber Doctrine in WWII Britain, especially in the early half of the war - was that it clamed and promised (and the word promise is literally true) that Strategic Bombing would win the war, without need for an invasion of Europe, on its own, and despite Britain's Army being outmatched by the German Army - if only the bombing could become large enough in scale.

Therefore the Bomber Doctrine had an apparently irresistible appeal to those who were determined that Britain could and should destroy Germany and retake Europe - from its position of besieged isolation. 

The consequence was that - in practice - everything possible should be sacrificed to the bombing imperative. Whatever the national emergency or military crisis, for believers in the Doctrine and their supporters; the answer was always the same: more bombers, more strategic bombing. 

The Bomber Mafia fought, with considerable success - to suck resources from all the other branches of the RAF; and from the Army and Navy in general. 

Indeed it has been estimated (it is hard to be exact, but this is not implausible) that the total resources consumed by RAF Bomber Command during WWII were greater than the entirety of the rest of the armed forces put-together - i.e. greater than the British Army, Royal Navy, RAF Fighter Command, and RAF Coastal Command, combined. 

And that this was largely responsible for the national debt that delayed UK recovery from the war for so much longer than anywhere else.    

As it was, Britain very nearly lost the war in early 1943 by severance of the absolutely vital ship-borne supplies - ie. defeat by the U-Boats in the Battle of the Atlantic. It seems that the nation came very close to collapse - it was a real emergency, for those not blinded by the Doctrine*.  

What is horrifying to me is that this near-loss was preventable; and had been caused by the domination and intransigence of the Bomber Mafia, and the psychological hold the Bomber Doctrine had on Churchill - and those responsible for the allocation of resources and priorities between the various competing demands of the war effort.  

With the escalating U-Boat threat; air cover was essential to successfully defending naval convoys. This was perfectly possible - but until late in 1943, Coastal Command was starved of resources and aircraft by the insatiable maw of Bomber Command - which took nearly-all of the suitable escort and anti-submarine aircraft, and all of the best aircraft. 

What was needed was a very long range four-engined aircraft that could provide air-cover across the whole Atlantic; and it was well within technological capabilities to provide such machines quickly and in large numbers; and thereby protect the vital convoys. 

But the Bomber Mafia fought bitterly and tirelessly to keep all such aircraft for its own allegedly war-winning effort - and were, overall, supported in this by Churchill. 

(Eventually Coastal Command got sufficient Very Long Range Liberator aircraft to provide full air-cover, hunt and destroy the U-Boats, and win the Battle of the Atlantic.) 

My point here is that the very-nearly war-losing and delusionally-false Bomber Doctrine was never more than a purely-hypothetical, un-tested and un-evidenced, dreamed-up narrative.

But it was a make-believe tale that was adopted and sustained by a powerful bureaucracy - which "sold" the idea to those who wanted it to be true - for whatever various reasons of their own. 

Once the Bomber Doctrine was established and psychologically-accepted, and the Bomber Mafia had become entrenched and powerful - then logic, evidence, even the imminence of national collapse - could not dent it. 

The Bomber Doctrine was a psychosis, that fuelled a parasite (the Bomber Mafia), which all-but annihilated the nation that hosted it. 

The Bomber Doctrine was, then, a literal psychosis - and one that (at least) twice very-nearly lost Britain the war - and by bankrupting the nation, lost us the peace that followed - but this made literally zero difference to its proponents... Except to increase their fanatical zeal.

The analogy with our present situation is obvious. 

Nothing short of the actual collapse of the nation and civilization will stop the delusional bureaucratic parasites from their work of destruction. 

And looking-out from the ruins, upon the chaos they helped cause - still they will never admit that they were wrong all along.

*Bomber Command seemed unable to grasp even that they themselves needed to win the Battle of the Atlantic in order to function. Britain imported all her oil and petrol by ship, without which bombers would - obviously - be unable to fly! Yet such was the delusional nature of their thinking that simple self-interest could not overcome it... Again this psychotic incoherence is something seen in analogous bureaucratic situations, here-and-now. 

  

Is Everything a Total Fake?

It is an interesting and significant fact, that major-controlling institutions in our totalitarian Western society often tolerate - and indeed fund and publicise - books, TV, movies, and social commentary; the arguments of which categorically assert that Everything in public discourse is a Fake - and, in the most uncompromising versions - always has been a Fake, through history.

The expounded idea is that official and mass media narratives are (in general) pure illusion, based on nothing at all; an eggshell of false narrative enclosing a void of real life content. 

At the most extreme level, the "Everything a Fake" people seem to be saying that "nothing ever happened" - at least nothing that was said officially to have happened. They are suggesting that public discourse has always been pure illusion.  

With individual exceptions - this is not generally true, especially not as we go further back into eras in which the mass media and state propaganda systems were smaller and less effective.

I feel confident that "Everything has always been a Fake" is not true, from the big changes in increasing fakery that I have experienced through my lifespan, and by the obvious acceleration of such trends through the 1990s and into the 21st century. 

If Fakery has got so much worse in living memory, then clearly things were less faked in the past. 

Also, we know that Total Fakery isn't the norm from the huge efforts that The System invests to make things happen. 

This would not be the case if it was normal and expected to manufacture significant fakes from zilch. Important fakes aren't built on nothing, for the obvious reason that then they would be less effective. 

We all know that lies mixed with facts are much more convincing than complete fabrications. 

 

When fakery incorporates real aspects of actual events; fakes are far more difficult to disentangle and thereby disprove outright - hence far more convincing to the credulous and inattentive majority. 

What (in general) happened in the past was that underlying events were essentially real (albeit much more often contrived by the authorities than realized at the time); but the truth of reality was exaggerated, or twisted by fakery, in order to manipulate public opinion. 

The incremental trend (especially over the past several generations) was both for fakery to become more dominant; and for the underlying real events to become more top-down contrived. 

For instance, the 2020 Birdemic was very nearly a Total Fake; in that it was invented, planned, and implemented top-down - and some "evidential" aspects were Total Fakes (e.g. things that had not happen were theatrically staged and filmed). 

But as a total phenomenon; the Birdemic incorporated many real world actions and events - and the consequences of pseudo-therapeutic interventions (e.g. extra deaths caused by supposedly anti-Birdemic medico-social changes) - into its pre-determined narrative. 

Eventually; there resulted a hyper-complex and deliberately-confused mass of many inventions, illusions and lies - built-upon and mixed-with a few factual realities. 

Consequently; we know for sure that the official narratives are all false and deliberately misleading; but it can never be known what actually happened minus the Fakery. 

The lesson is that although some small things are indeed a Total Fake, most important lies will interweave real facts and events. 

Which does not, of course, mean that there is "some truth" in (for instance) the Birdemic, the CO2 Climate narrative, or the current top-down imposition of AI; because events and facts are not truth. 

We must learn to distinguish between facts and truth: facts only have meaning when interpreted by theory. 

Thus, when theory is false and dishonest, then "real facts" can only serve to sustain a false and dishonest understanding. 

In sum: all the major strategies of the global totalitarians are fundamentally and intentionally false - despite their not being total fakes; and despite whatever correct facts and real events are woven into them.

Total Fakery is not the real problem - which is why people are encouraged (officially!) to entertain the idea of Total Fakes at such length, and in such detail. 

It is intentional untruthfulness in service to evil intent, that is the real problem.         

 

Why the biggest Western civilizational strategies have Zero validity? A multi-level explanation

It is an interesting aspect of the most recent giga-dollar projects, schemes, and strategies (characteristic, especially, of Western civilization in its end-stage) - that they consist almost entirely of coloured lights, smoke and mirrors, vapour and blank-assertion. 

Among currently active projects of colossal size, scope and expense; there is the climate scam, the birdemic/peck scam, the antiracism scam, the AI scam, and the war-everywhere scam... 

These all share:

1. An absence of mass and grass-roots origins or support. Such projects are imposed top-down, multi-nationally. By simultaneously coordinating the many functional specializations, and integrated goals and bureaucratic-media methods, of the global totalitarian system. 

2. An absence of coherent reality in terms of need. Ends and means are alike invisible to personal experience. The rationale for these projects is wholly manufactured, and disseminated by "research" and mass media propaganda. 

3. An absence of rational credibility for the effectiveness of the vast schemes of "intervention". 

No demand, no coherence - no genuine need, no potential effectiveness...

There must be some reason why nothing-burgher projects are consistently chosen, in preference to schemes addressing real needs by valid measures?

In fact there are many reasons and at many levels by which to understand why strategy is rooted-in and aimed-at Nothing, rather than... something.

At the deepest (spiritual evil) level it seems obvious that to organize the world on the basis of nothing, fits with the nihilistic - anti divine creation - stance of the demonic motivation. Insofar as creation is subverted by incoherence and lies; the anti-God alliance is winning. 

At the level of the most powerful human leadership class; a strategy based on nothing, is - once established and launched - impossible to refute. Nothingness cannot be critiqued on the basis of either data or individual human experiences. 

At the level of the puppet-leadership class - those heading the nations, major corporations and most significant institutions - the only requirement is that strategies be backed-up by the largest possible and longest sustainable infusions of money and other resources; so that multiple forms of (mostly-legal) corruption can redirect benefits to their pockets. 

And when the entire project is phony, then such vampirism is less noticeable and less likely to be suppressed than would be the case if there was a real problem being addressed by a potentially valid solution. 

(Consider CO2 climate strategies or the Birdemic-Peck... When the whole vast theoretical scheme is shaped from nothing and lies, then nobody really expects anything to work - and they wouldn't know if it did.) 

In consequence; nihilistic indifference prevails; and nothing is done to prevent, limit, or punish the overwhelming incidence of tyrannical self-enrichment, expedient policy contradictions, and obscenely flagrant hypocrisy,   

At the level of senior and mid-level bureaucrats/ managers/ intellectuals - these types are indifferent to content, and wholly focused on proximate matters such as careers and status. They will willingly say and do anything required of them by their bureaucratic superiors - so long as this aligns with incentives; and will eagerly manufacture the necessary rationale or obfuscate the obvious: on demand.

At the level below the middle-managerial-myrmidons of evil - it does not matter what the masses think about these projects. The schemes are done-to such people; whose only job is to do the needful stuff and provide the necessities of living. The masses are the despised host; whose existence merely enables the thriving of an extractive parasitic superstructure.      

In sum, there are many reasons, from up-front and proximate to long-term and ultimate; why it suits the totalitarian system to prefer ruling the world on the basis of nothing, rather than something. 

Faces in the fire - our tendency to see patterns (even when the purposive destruction of patterns is afoot!)

The idea that humans have a tendency to see patterns where there is (supposedly) only randomness - like seeing faces appearing briefly in a fire - is used to argue that therefore we ought to discount as self-deluding, the meaningfulness of the world around us. 

This is one of those ridiculously over-influential, very selectively applied, reductionist pseudo-explanations upon which a great deal of Western materialist modernity is based. 

The "argument" is also used (selectively) to rubbish any attempt to unravel and expose the evil-motivated lies and manipulations of the ruling classes - but it gets completely ignored when it comes to the vast and absurd, smoke and mirror, elaborations of mainstream ideology; such as the birdemic, CO2 climate change or antiracism.

As a general rule, the real patterns are not abstract processes, but derive from Beings and their motivations. 

What we may call a "pattern" is therefore the consequence of the nature, desires, intentions etc of living Beings (including Beings of various kinds - divine, human, animal, plant, mineral, spiritual, and so forth). 

But, as well as positive patterns, there is always the possibility of negative anti-pattern. 

A real pattern is some kind of positive "order", and the only ultimate order is that of divine creation (all other order is derived from, or contributing to, that order). 

But an anti-pattern is the destruction of order; the negation of order. 

And it is important to recognize this negative, destructive motivation when present, because it is common. It is, indeed, an especially advanced type of evil (that I have often termed "Sorathic"). 

This needs to be borne in mind as we contemplate the world, and try to make sense of what is going-on in geopolitics, national politics, and within social institutions such as the workplace. 

In a world of advanced evil, where it seems that the demons of destruction are waxing dominant; then a policy of chaotic destruction may be pursued by the simple means of an accumulation of multiple incoherent changes - of many kinds, in many places, and at many levels.

The "faces in the fire" tendency tries to make overall sense of the by discovering some Master Plan. Or a clash of several Master Plans, Or else an all encompassing but non-purposing (non-) explanation such as insanity or incompetence. 

Yet we ought to bear in mind that chaotic destruction is not always a by-product; and negation may be a thing deliberately pursued. 

In which case; pattern-making explanations of lesser wickednesses (such selfish Master Plans as pursuit of money, power, fame etc. and their interactions) can serve as a convenient disguise or excuse, for what is actually the most advanced form of evil.  

This discernment, this recognition of negative-destructive (Sorathic) evil; will only be possible if we allow for its possibility.

Note added: 

Self-conscious purposive destructive evil is rare and evanescent among humans, because it tends rapidly to lead to self destruction. Sorathic evil in this world is best understood as a purpose of the ruling demonic spirits, who are themselves immune to material destruction, while benefitting from it in the short-term. 

We can imagine that the Sorathic demons modus operandi is usually to set different selfish and exploitative motivations (of individuals and groupings) against each other - with mutually destructive intent. 

Also to encourage (and indeed spiritually "feed" upon) the spiteful, hating, resentment-driven and despairing destructive motivations of the humans involved. 

In sum, it is the net effect that is destructive of pattern, of order - and ultimately destructive of divine creation. And this applies even when there are indeed patterns to the individual component motivations among Men and groups, that leading to overall destructiveness.

There may be faces in the fire, but the fire itself is an agent of destruction. 

Tethered caps on disposable bottles - a microcosm of strategic cultural suicide

I began to notice recently that I could not get the caps off bottles of drinks, which remained tethered to the bottle, until I cut them with strong scissors, or tore them free by main force. Otherwise it was nigh impossible to pour the drink because the tethered cap got in the way - and even unscrewing a tethered cap is mechanically self-defeating. 

After this became more and more common, I belatedly discovered that this was due to a new EU law - and (of course) the UK has never left the EU. 

This business is a perfect microcosm of here-and-now. Tethered caps are supposed to "encourage" recycling of the drinks caps, and recycling is always and invariably A Good Thing. And the more plastic crap we manufacture, the more we can recycle it - Yay! 

It's all an oh-so-serious issue - but conveniently serves the stepwise agenda of universal and detailed surveillance and control; by which permissible screw-on bottle top design has been brought under globalist totalitarian control.  

So, yet again; a dysfunctional and utterly futile law in service of an evil-motivated, anti-life agenda (CO2 Climate-excused totalitarianism) has been oh-so-laboriously discussed and decided-upon, and imposed internationally by vast bureaucratic-regulatory efforts. 

One of the stupidest and wrongest of traditional sayings, an inversion of truth - is: Look after the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves.

(Especially stupid since it arose when there were 240 pennies in a pound sterling!)

Yet this is modern Green "environmentalism" in a nutshell. In service to fake knowledge about a fake-and-evil theory concerning "climate change" - we have governments imposing energy-consuming and CO2 producing laws in pursuit of changes that - even if all predictive climate-change models were accurate (which they certainly are not, never having been validated), would have undetectably trivial benefits. Meanwhile engaging in mandatory and colossal environmental destruction - for example by gratuitous and mega-polluting wars.    

As another instance; thus we have (in the UK) truly draconian criminal laws protecting certain species such as bats against humans - we are not even allowed to touch these creatures. On the other hand, bats are being slaughtered by the ever-increasing numbers of "environmentally friendly" (but functionally counter-productive) wind-turbines at an admitted rate of thousands-to-millions per year! 

Nobody sincere, rational and well-motivated could possibly behave this way - hence we know for sure that those ruling The West are overall dishonest, irrational and evil-motivated. 

This is possible only by the docile, stupid, and preeningly self-satisfied mind-set of the Western managerial-intellectual class; a group who personally profit from laboriously and expensively implementing an agenda of pointlessly symbolic pseudo-reform in context of a strategy that is ultimately aimed-at purposive political, social, and personal destruction. 

The ruling demons are laughing themselves sick - pay attention, and you can "hear" them!

The Litmus Tests revisited - or, what do we need to know about some-one/ some-institution?

The Litmus Tests* may seem crude and formulaic as a way of discernment applied to a person or institutions; but in reality they are almost the opposite. 

The Litmus Tests include the birdemic-peck 'healthism' agenda; support of the opponents of the Fire Nation in the ongoing war; antiracism; pro-sexual revolution; CO2 Climate-change/ warming; and any other form of leftism such as socialism, environmentalism, equality, diversity, libertarianism etc. 

The Litmus Tests refer not so much to specific beliefs, but to the core agenda items of the global totalitarian System, which - properly understood, from a Christian perspective - is evil in its intent -- i.e. the dominant System ultimately seeks the damnation of souls; which requires that (in the end) each soul desires and chooses to be damned. 

Therefore, to fail a Litmus Test means to be subordinated - in at least one major aspect, although typically many or most of the tests are failed - to the external ideology of evil. 

When somebody, or some institution, supports one of the Litmus test agenda items; this is evidence of value-inversion; which is evidence that they are self-subordinated to the dominant external agenda. 

In a sense, from the perspective of making an overall evaluation of somebody's (or some organization's) affiliation in the spiritual war of this world; this affiliation tells us all we need to know: Are they on the side of God/ divine creation/ The Good -- or are they opposed? 

Anyone who accepts, defends, follows, actively advances any of the Litmus Tests - has placed his motivations, thinking and actions under external control from those powers who oppose The Good.

This matter of external control is very significant. 

Because the world (here, now) is so pervasively and top-down corrupted by evil; all powerful external influences are evil. 

Therefore; to be externally-motivated - including by any large or mainstream church, of any denomination) is to be a part of the agenda of evil.  

(This is evil. Evil is Not about niceness or good works or devoutness... Evil is about taking the side of Satan against God. Simple as that. One on-the-side-of Good is Good; no matter what his personal sins - because anyone on the side of Good will/ must have repented his sins; will know, acknowledge, and reject his sins. That is what it means to "be Good".)

Such is the nature of Litmus Tests: they function as an index of whether some person or group has chosen subordination to fundamental, ultimate, external control. 

As of here-and-now; only one who seriously seeks to detach himself from external control can be on the side of God, divine creation and The Good. 

Such a detached person may Not be on the Good side - because he might choose evil from his own inner motivations; but only a detached person can affiliate to Good. 

In our totalitarian and media-saturated world; only inner evaluation and motivation can be a source of commitment to the motivation of Goodness. 

We are Good as individuals - from our inner choices - or not-at-all. 

Affiliation to any external authority is to subscribe to one, more, or many of the negative, incoherent, and oppositional Litmus Tests; and this represents a decisive affiliation to the work of Satan. 

Note added: It should not really be necessary to say so; but maybe it needs saying anyway: that the state of someone's soul now - e.g. affiliation to the Satanic agenda, as evidenced by Litmus Test failure - does not mean that they will choose damnation at the last. Indeed; I think it almost certain that an individual person is only sustained alive for as long as he is judged capable of repentance; which means that where there is life there is hope. However; the same does not necessarily apply to institutions/ groups/ corporations - including churches. Whereas there are many (including recent) examples of individual persons (and, presumably, other Beings) who seem very likely to have repented and chosen salvation despite previous servitude to evil - and done so very late, very near to death; there seem to be none among recent institutions. This may be because the kind of corruption that afflicts most modern institutions is one that excludes the ultimacy of the kind of "presiding spiritual Being" that used-to stand-behind traditional institutions (variously conceptualized as patron saints, angels, and the like). I would guess that so long as there is a presiding spiritual Being, then repentance is possible. But when there has been a hollowing-out, bureaucritization, self-subordination of an institution to external influences, then there can be no basis for repentance. 

Overcoming the double-negative conceptualizations of Jesus Christ

Over the past few years, since I spent a year or so multiply re-reading the Fourth Gospel ("of John") in isolation; I have often emphasized the covertly-deceptive way in which double-negative formulations have colonized and distorted our minds and motivations - both in Christianity and in mainstream modern secular 'leftism'.  

A double-negative is not the same as a positive; yet it seems obvious that most people fail to recognize the essentially negative conceptualizations of their own beliefs and ideals: they suppose themselves to be idealists, with some kind of positive agenda; yet they nearly-always are in thrall to some merely double-negation.

For instance, they believe that the double-negations of being against CO2 climate change, or protecting the environment, is the same thing as loving and cherishing our relation to this natural world. And the consequence is massive destruction of nature and the severing of Men from the natural. 

The supposedly 'ecological' doubled double-negative of "stopping climate change" and "protecting the environment" leads to an explicit (albeit deceptive) vision of humankind crammed into pods of '15 minute' mega-cities, eating processed bugs delivered by drones - and experiencing nature only virtually, via media. 

(The double-negative attitude towards nature leads inexorably to the negation of Man - i.e. his extinction.)

Unfortunately, this kind of double-negation applies to many Christian understandings of Jesus Christ.

This is evident from using the synonym the Saviour to describe what is regarded as the essence of what He did for us. And that essence of what Jesus did is summarized as the Atonement - which is another double-negation. The same could be said about calling Jesus the redeemer, and describing the crucifixion as a redemption; all terms betray the primacy of double-negative theology. Conceptualizing Jesus's goodness as primarily sin-less-ness is another such.  

I am sure that this is mistaken, and also stands as an obstacle to modern understanding of Jesus Christ. Partly because because it is obvious that modern Man feels no spontaneous need for saving, atonement or redemption. 

If modern man must first be convinced of his default damnation from sin; he cannot begin to understand what Jesus is supposed to have done for him - thus evangelism is crippled. 

Yet the Fourth Gospel seems to tell a different story - at least if read straightforwardly, as our primary source of knowledge of Jesus's life and teachings (by which I mean; trying to understand the IV Gospel without subordinating it to the other Gospels, other parts of the New Testament, and the Bible as a whole). 

Of course; the IV Gospel can be interpreted in a double-negative fashion - as about Jesus as Saviour - since all positives can be reframed in a double-negative form. 

But reformulating a positive as double-negation always and necessarily leaves-out that which is truly positive; because in real-life (unlike mathematics!) a positive cannot emerge from negations. 

Being "against sin", does not tell us what to do instead-of sinning; just as being against "Anthropogenic Global Warming by CO2" does not tell mankind anything about how to build a good relationship with the natural world. 

(The double-negation of Jesus's teaching and work, leads to a negation of this mortal life - such that 'goodness' becomes the negation of sin, life the avoidance of damnation - life itself a thing to be got-through without falling and failing.)   

Jesus in the IV Gospel is presented, perfectly straightforwardly, as the giver of life everlasting*. Which is presented as a positive addition to human possibility. 

Yes, this also means negatively that Jesus "overcomes death" (a double-negation) - but this is only half the story, and the least helpful part. What Jesus offers positively is resurrection to eternal life in Heaven. 

And what this means is set-out in many points of the Gospel, albeit in ways that we tend to regard as poetical or allegorical - but, at the time of Jesus this was very probably the ordinary way that language was used. 

(Ancient languages had, what seems to us 'moderns', multiple and simultaneous meanings; they did not have the narrowly and precise, 'technical' and specialized - but utterly un-poetic! - language systems that we know from sciences, law, and bureaucracy generally.)   

Double-negatively expressed Jesus "overcomes death" - and death meant something different in Jesus's time and place than it does for us; yet 'death', then and now, shared the core meaning of the ending of self, a situation caused by the death of our body. 

When we die, our self will cease to be. For the Jews of Jesus's time this probably meant that soul was severed from body such that we would become witless, demented ghosts in Sheol. 

For modern Man death means utter annihilation - body and mind - forever. But in both instances we, as unique selves, are finished. 

 

But positively understood Jesus adds-to the human situation as it is understood to exist. 

Instead of things happening as they do without Jesus; Jesus makes possible something new and extra. 

Essentially; Jesus is the Giver of Life Everlasting, not the Saviour; because a positive trumps the partiality of a double-negative; because a giver is greater than a saver. 

*I argue elsewhere that in the IV Gospel "sin" means something closely equivalent to "death" - so that references to Jesus taking-away or overcoming "sin" are intended to refer essentially to death. But it is also true that sin in the sense of disharmony with God's motivations and methods, dis-alignment from the ways of divine creation, must be overcome before life everlasting, resurrection to Heavenly life eternal, can happen.

The Total Lie

In the past; it was necessary to seed overall-lies with specific-truths - indeed, the most effective forms of dishonesty were mostly-correct, but with a few key falsehoods that made all the difference. 

But when basic assumptions are false, there is no limit to the scale of dishonesty; and nowadays assumptions are false - so we have a situation of unlimited dishonesty: the Total Lie. 

Examples abound!

The birdemic is best understood as a Total Lie. From bottom to top, in terms of its 'facts' and their interpretation - it was essentially a complete falsehood.

CO2 Climate Change/ Emergency-Global-boiling is another such. It is based upon false observations, manufactured theories, nonsensical inferences - to make-up a tapestry of such utter nonsense that one stands awed and aghast. 

The Fire Nation war... It is clear that the 'understanding' of nearly everybody in The West is utterly-made up, a virtual war, completely disconnected from reality. 

The antiracism agenda, the feminist agenda, the whole diversity/ equality/ inclusion/ equity business... Where can one even begin to discuss such a tissue of malignant drivel?  

It seems that the combination of a totalitarian and multinational tyranny - with all significant governments, institutions/ organizations and corporations linked-bureaucratically; and with a vast and growing mass-social media - leeching attention, controlling and coordinating human minds; has led to a virtuality - a Total Lie which most people inhabit most of the time; rooted in cycles and elaborations of false assumptions, fake fakes, and incoherent concepts. 

Corrective feedback no longer happens; since common sense based upon personal experience and observation is is regarded as a kind of evil, and crushed into non-existence by wrap-round consensus from the totalitarian-media complex. 

Ultimately; the Total Lie has become possible because - officially, top-down, and by the assumptions of all institutions - there is no coherence to be had in reality. 

Reality is solidly-regarded as nothing-but a mixture of randomness and blind determinism. 'Truth' can thus only be arbitrary and imposed. 

Ultimately; people have allowed to be built, supported, then walled-themselves-into, a world of Total Lies; by their rejection of God and the spirit.

When there is nothing-but The System, then The System is everything and (of course!) defines "reality".

So, when it is expedient for those who stand out-with and manipulate The System, to lie about everything, then a condition of Total Lie will become the permanent dwelling place of the masses.

  

Immiseration, disease, disability and death are only means to an end for the evil rulers of this world

The non-Christian dissenters reliably get their basic conspiracy theory wrong, by imputing the wrong motivation to the globalist totalitarian rulers. 

The secular thinkers believe that They want to immiserate the masses, cause vast swathes of diseases and disabilities, and reduce the world population down to less than 10% of its current levels. 

The secular conspiracy thinkers believe that the Establishment seek power and wealth, in order to live lives of perverted pleasure by exploiting everybody and everything else...

All of this is true - but these are not the ultimate goal of the ruling conspiracy; merely a means to the end of damnation. 

Think about it: if They primarily wanted to destroy living and life, then They would just have gone ahead and done it already. 

After all They command vast destructive power, in innumerable potential modalities - far too many to be stopped, and it is trivially easy to harm human beings en masse if that is your major goal. 

But; although there are plenty of mid-level operatives who desire nothing more than to wreak terror, torment, and termination upon their 'fellow' Men; this is not the overarching goal of those in ultimate command of the ruling Establishment. 

The ultimate rulers are either demons or those humans who are utterly in thrall to the demonic agenda; and the demonic agenda is the damnation of souls, and Not the destruction of bodies and minds. 

Of course, the demonic very much want destruction of all kinds; but only when it leads to Men choosing damnation; and in-a-nutshell this means persuading the masses to consent-to and desire their own immiseration, disease, disability and death. 

That's what the vast apparatus of the mass (and social) media are all about, the take-over of officialdom and bureaucracy, the corruption of education... All of this is to try and ensure that the masses agree-to, and indeed ask-for, their own destruction. 

That is the basis of the vast Litmus Test strategies - the sexual revolution, birdemic-peck, CO2 global warming, antiracism and the Fire Nation war... Leftism/ atheism/ materialism in its most general sense. 

All of these are ways of making Men invite evil into their hearts, to invert true values, to desire their own destruction. 

The ideal scenario of is of the mass of human beings willing their own misery (as with lockdowns, social distancing, masking, antiracism, feminism etc.); asking-for their own disease (as with the peck, climate policies); and seeking their own deaths (as with the self-inflicted economic annihilation of The West from the birdemic, climate change, affirmative action; and now its wished-for military annihilation by world war). 

A topical example is the large numbers of the Western intellectual classes who - in the name of preventing an imaginary CO2-caused Climate Emergency - desire Men to cease reproducing; to live static lives of maximum hunger, poverty and slavery; and then die ASAP in order to cease consuming, breathing and metabolizing. 

This is not how Men naturally see things, but how demons see things. 

The bottom-line for demons (which, after all, are evil spirits, and do not have bodies) is not power or wealth; but instead the spiteful lust and sadism of inducing human souls to choose lives of fear and resentment, to die in despair and with hatred of God; to reject Jesus's gifts of salvation, resurrection and Heaven; and to choose Hellish damnation as their eternal situation. 

That is (more-or-less) what the conspiracy aims-at primarily and ultimately: spiritual, not physical, mass suicide. 

CO2 Global Warming - surely By Far the biggest, most destructive, lie the world has ever known

The Global-Warming-due-to-CO2 lie has now become so colossal in its scale that its effects (and costs) are beyond calculation. 

The lie has become so extensive and pervasive as directly to affect - in multiple and increasing ways - the lives of every human being; and to stress the entirety of world civilization. 

The lie works through soaring missions and strategies, down to an incremental accumulation of tiny details, and at every level in-between. 

The Global Totalitarian System (which conducted a successful and 'invisible' coup in 2020) has itself grown substantially on the back of the global warming lie; and the global warming lie has been one of the major tools by which global totalitarianism has extended its evil influence wider among nations, and deeper into the lives of Men. 

A neglected aspect of the GW-lie, is the way that it has channeled and destroyed the vague but strong spiritual aspirations which lay behind the concerns about animals and plants, nature, or 'the environment'. 

As recently as the early 1980s, these has a distinctly 'mystical' quality - for instance the adoption of Gaia as the concept of regarding earth as a genuinely living being - perhaps a real goddess...

For a while; 'Gaia' hovered ambiguously on the border between the materialist hypothesis of a homeostatically self-regulating planet; and the spirituality of an actual living entity with some degree of consciousness and intent - with whom Men might have some relationship. 

But very swiftly and decisively; the spiritual Gaia was reduced to either joke status or regarded as the preserve of benign but ineffectual hippies. 

The materialist Gaia won-out Big Time, and was sucked-up into a burgeoning globalist agenda operated by multiple national heads of state, multinational corporations, Big Finance and Big Media. 

The richest and most powerful people on the planet kidnapped Gaia, stripped her of divinity, clothed her in nothing but Carbon Dioxide, and enslaved her to do their dirty work of brainwashing and controlling the world!

The world is now ruled by a single, linked bureaucracy; and bureaucracy is intrinsically evil, as well as being the prime tool for literally-demonic policy; and CO2 Global Warming has been an important engine of this takeover.

The System operates by means of materialist assumptions; by the reductionism of all that is spiritual down to the material. This is done because 'the material' can be monitored, measured and controlled. 

Therefore; if men can be induced to live wholly-materially, Men can be wholly-controlled.  

CO2-Warmism is a grinding ideological vortex that has taken all our love-for, and feelings-about, nature and this world and our life upon it; has pulverized and discarded all beauty and the chance of true relationships of Men and the natural world...

And has made of this a fake-scientific discourse about the measurement and effect of concentrations of a chemical, and lies about how to control it and the climate. 

I find it hard to express the sheer vileness of what has become normal and compulsory in public policy and discourse... 

Every club or committee that is tasked with protecting The Environment; every book or magazine article about plants, animals or pollution; every classroom lecture or TV documentary on mountains, rivers, trees, wildlife; every farmer and horticulturalist in his daily work and annual planning...

All such are compelled to do obeisance to the God of CO2 and to obey his tyrannical dictates. 

Indeed, every formal group of every kind - arts, science, education, manufacture, services, churches... All must worship and submit-to the Global Warming lie.

(And even if they don't; all individual persons must still pay for the lie with their money, time and effort.)  

Unless they consciously dissociate from the Climate Lie; participants are ritually acknowledging the moral authority of the Global System...

A System whose motives are evil and whose operations are evil...

A System whose intent is to corrupt and destroy nature and 'the environment' - along with everything else that is true, virtuous and beautiful.
