Secret personal resistance probably works better than politics

Organized politics is an energy-trap. 

The Establishment do what they want, without regard to law or rules; but sometimes they declare a law which confirms what they are already doing - and those who oppose are thereby "invited" to organize and oppose it. 

But such campaigns against evil rules are an energy-trap for those who try to oppose them. It takes a great deal of effort from lots of people to stop a law, and if if this "succeeds" then it will make no discernable improvement on what we currently have. 

This is what happened with Brexit. It took vast and exhausting effort for the UK to "leave" the EU - and now that it has supposedly happened, we find that it makes zero difference! We have had a Brexit-in-name-only (BRINO) - and the proponents of Brexit are demoralized. Probably this was always planned.

Or Trump versus Biden. From the perspective of those who oppose global totalitarianism, Trump was supposedly a better president than Biden... Yet the fact is that with Trump as President, and after three years in power, we got 2020: with the international coup, the bidemic-peck, and "MLB". 2020 was the worst period of time since WWII. 

Politics here and now is full of energy-traps; which depend on people believing subtle and speculative calculations; such as that the UK post-BRINO is even-worse than it would have been without Brexit; or that Trump staying President would have led to things being significantly better than they are now. 

And yet, and yet...

I think a significant number of British people must be resisting in various quiet ways, because things have not been getting worse as quickly as I expected they would be, back in 2020. 

If one judged by the public discourse, there is zero perceptible resistance to the totalitarian agenda. However, a good deal of the surveillance and control apparatus from the 2020 era has been removed; whereas I fully expected it would be permanent, and increased. (As was explicitly and frequently announced.) 

Such a minor reversal is nonetheless a reversal. 

Why did it happen? 

It was clearly not due to the leadership class having become better people, or abandoning the totalitarian agenda! - So, I suppose there must be significant invisible, unreported, maybe secret resistance.

That seems to be what They assume, and what They are trying to stamp-out. 

My message here is not one of optimism: I remain very pessimistic. 

But realistically, it seems that British "people" in 2023 are not quite as beaten as they were (or seemed to be) in 2020. 

Why this is so, I don't understand - not least because the whole thing seems very secret because unorganized and individual. 

At any rate, it seems that secret personal resistance works better than politics.  

The lessons of Not-Brexit: Political change is of benefit Only if it leads to a Christian spiritual awakening

For those of you in other countries, it is important to emphasize that Brexit never happened; what we eventually got (two-and-a-half years delayed) was a BRINO, a "Brexit in name only": a paper exercise slightly reorganizing the globalist bureaucracy.  

I was completely on the side of Brexit, and I was very pleased that a large majority of English people (except in London!) were on the Brexit side; however, I was under no illusions that the positive Brexit vote was an opportunity and not an answer. The opportunity was for a national spiritual awakening. 

The blog Albion Awakening was created on exactly that basis: that there was a window of opportunity unexpectedly opening - but unless that opportunity was taken by enough people; then Brexit would yield no net-positive benefit to the nation (but only to the careers of a few opportunistic, "Brexit supporting", politicians).

And it did not. 

The fact that a self-styled "Brexit Day" happened in the midst of the winter 2020-21 birdemic lockdown and on the cusp of the peck onslaught makes that clear. 

As does the continued massive levels of immigration to the UK, including officially-the highest ever levels of illegal immigration (i.e. more than a year after so-called "Brexit"). Yet stopping mass immigration was without any doubt By Far the major issue that caused people to vote for Brexit. 

The official immigration (especially illegal) numbers are, of course, calculatedly-dishonest, and huge underestimates - but it may be that there were around a million (or more) immigrants in a single year; i.e. enough people to fill a city the size of Birmingham, the second-largest city in England, after London. 

In all observable ways and Very Obviously; England post- "Brexit" continues to be ruled such as to weaken, subvert and destroy the nation. 

Most recently; through 2023; the lying, insane, and irrational UK propaganda, subsidies, theft, probable sabotage, aggression and multiple other provocations against the anti-Fire Nation have made us prime military targets - if the British Establishment achieve the war escalations they so assiduously are trying to engineer. 

In sum: Brexit did England no good, because the opportunity it provided for repentance and spiritual reform was decisively rejected; and having rejected that opportunity the nation was left in a worse state - as revealed by the trends since 2016.  

I think this is a general lesson teaching us that (as of these times) all politics-as-such will lead to evil - including even when it is motivated (as was Brexit) by supporting the lesser of two evils. 

The lesser of two evils is still evil! And by engaging us in the pursuit of evil (albeit lesser) we are corrupted and ourselves made more evil.

This is of extreme relevance to the ongoing war. Here there is no doubt which of the sides is less evil; yet the victory of the lesser evil would Not lead to net-Good unless the winning side is (overall) motivated by Good. 

In other words; if the effect of the war on the Fire Nation (FN) is to make it more primarily Christian, more Christian-motivated - then a victory would probably be net-Good - for that nation, and probably for the world-as-a-whole. 

If Christian faith is sufficiently strongly deepened and refined in the crucible of war; such that it is then restored to become a ruling principle of the nation - then the spiritual effect of war might be net-positive. 

But, if (as often happens) war causes a corruption of motivations and a 'win at all costs and at any price and by any means' kind of mentality; then victory would harm the victors and the world. And there is no doubt that one of the core objectives of the anti-FN actions has been to corrupt that nation with the same spirit of satanic evil as rules The West.  

We among the masses are all-but powerless in a material sense: all the power we possess is spiritual. It is therefore vital that we develop and maintain spiritual discernment in relation to this continuing and escalating global war. 

We need to consider carefully what we choose to know, and what we choose to believe, about events and motives - always bearing in mind the provenance of claims (from where, ultimately and spiritually, claims emanate). 

There is no 'safe' option and no safe opinion; situations change and the need for discernment is continuous. (To assert incompetence is a self-subordination; refusing to judge is itself a judgment.) 

And what matters is that we each take personal responsibility for our spiritual attitudes and aspirations. 

Even though mistakes are inevitable; if we do this, sincerely, then over time we will be led to the truth; because we will be open to divine guidance. 

When someone very belatedly notices some specific problem, that has actually been massive and "obvious" for decades...

Every day, more than once a day, I come across somebody (IRL, or on media) who reports, tentatively - as if making some wild claim - that he has noticed something... some-thing that has been massive, and should-have-been grossly-obvious, for decades. 

Some people regard this level of insight as a promising sign of someone coming to his senses, and beginning to extract himself from the propaganda systems in which he is immersed...

But in practice this almost never happens. 

Instead - maybe - the first noticing leads merely to some very restricted insight into some circumscribed domain of Western society; with nearly all the rest of it being taken on trust, and regarded -indeed - as solid and true, so it is implied that if This-Problem could be fixed, then Life would be much better. 

Apparently, individuals get so smug about noticing some-one-thing, and so preoccupied with "fixing" it, that they feel no need to venture into more dangerous levels of understanding ^. 

Partial and superficial understanding, then blocks anything genuine; anything potentially of spiritual value. 

Hence we get the Single Issue (or handful of issue) Politics that plagues our age. Those people and organizations who always trace everything back to One Fundamental Cause: to some specific group of people, some particularly malign economic or social principle or motive, some particular form of persecution, some particular sin... 

Whatever. 

(And once decided upon, this "root cause of all our significant ills" becomes un-dis-provable - and supportive-evidence is found everywhere...! Such is human nature, and the constraints of argument and proof - which depend on assumptions far more than upon "evidence".)

What I find so dismaying about these partially-insightful, partly-aware, people is that - from my understanding - things-in-general are much, much worse than they suppose; the state-of-the-world is far more pervasively and deeply evil than they seem capable of imagining.

To me; these folk - who very explicitly regard themselves as clear-sighted, tough-minded, "red pilled", ready-for-anything - strike me as dewy-eyed optimists...

Too insecure and emotionally fragile to confront reality*. 

And this is simply because such half-awake, semi-realistic folk are viscerally invested primarily in their own status and success in this world - the same world that they pretend to critique savagely - yet the world from-which they yearn for recognition and reward.   

Such people cannot countenance the real nature of this world without despairing - so they cling to a distorted picture of our situation: a world-picture that is acknowledged to be faulty only to such an extent that they can convince themselves of the possibility of fixing it. 

If only - they assert - everyone-else would believe as I believe, do as I do, do what I tell them - then everybody would be So Much better-off. 

Any recognition of the deep, pervasive, and intractable nature of the flaws of this world in general and Western Civilization in particular (including, of course, its self-identified Christian churches) - is rejected with a savagery borne of a this-worldly idealism that feels itself to be on the cusp of becoming overwhelmed by incipient despair.

^ It is often asserted that "surely it will do some good" if the single-issue problem is fixed, or even ameliorated. This is a seductive argument, because in an idealised model of the situation it seems obviously to be the case that things would be better if such-and-such a problem were improved. But there are two usually-lethal difficulties: one proximate and practical, the other ultimate and even-in-theory. 

The practical difficulty is that there is always some very powerful within-System reason why any clear and serious problem (like open-ended mass immigration to the UK caused by European Union rules) that could straightforwardly be fixed, has actually not been fixed. This means that the totalitarian system does not want the problem fixed, which means that The System will fight hard against fixing, making even the slightest change extremely resource and time-consuming; and The System will do all it can to sabotage the process. So Brexit (voted for in 2016) was supposed to fix the problem of UK mass immigration at a stroke. But the totalitarian Establishment sabotaged Brexit to "BRINO" (Brexit in name only), and mass immigration has in fact increased very substantially since to reach record levels (admitted officially a million, but really more) in 2024. Mass Immigration indeed declined rapidly and substantially, albeit briefly. when The System had other priorities - i.e. during Birdemic lockdowns, proving that the problem was easily soluble. But because The System wants to destroy the UK - including by mass immigration, MI was resumed and accelerated very quickly from summer 2020. 

As well as such pragmatic limitations, there are ultimate and theoretical reasons why fixing a specific problem, or a few specific problems, will not work - which is that the system is totalitarian; and totalitarianism is both all-inclusive at the institutional level and evil by its nature. In effect, if any specific part of The System underwent significant improvement and became more Good; this would be detected by the whole System, and the anomalous part would be "healed" - would be brought-into-line with the aims and methods of all the rest. This destructive "immune response" is indeed irresistible (which is why all significant institutions of all types have "converged": become part of the totalitarian system). All institutions are bound to the rest of the system by multiple mandatory and motivational connections - formal (like laws, taxes, subsidies, regulations etc) and informal (mass media pressures, awards or slanders, discretionary harassment by bureaucrats, infiltration by hostile pro-Establishment agents etc.). No significant institution can opt-out of The System, as of 2025; because institutions are now parts of a societal and civilizational whole.    

* Such people will not see the obvious and long-term fact that we live in a totalitarian society; a society in which bureaucracy and management (and the mass media) links and coordinates all the major social institutions - politics, civil administration, law, finance and the economy, education, police and military, science and research, the arts and entertainments, charities/ pressure-groups/ NGOs; and of course the organized and economic manifestations of religions and spiritualties. 

All institutions are now linked by rules, practices, and a value-system. All are monitored, controlled, propagandized by a multitude of mechanisms. 

This includes everything you can think of in the societal realm; excepting (for some people, some of the time) our-selves (i.e. our divine, primal selves) and some primarily-motivating personal and loving relationships - such as the family.  

Thus, The totalitarian System is neither all-powerful nor all-knowing; yet to underestimate its scope and capability - to regard its flaws as if a fixable glitch - is merely to confirm that you are yourself inside The System . 

Totalitarianism means that all social-activity is linked; there is no discrete, detachable or specific problem - so there is no realistic possibility of significant reform within The System we actually inhabit.  

And The System is everything in the public domain (i.e. all those institutions described previously) - so that we all depend upon it for all of those functionalities. Casual talk of destroying The System fails to account for this destroying functionality, and the means of support. 

The real-reality is that we all depend - for nearly-all the many aspects of living - upon the same System that is purposively evil; and is purposively destroying itself, and destroying us. 

Such - nothing less! - is the scope and nature of our situation.

NOTE ADDED: The above is not a counsel of despair, not unless you believe that institutions and their practices are everything that is significant, and this-world is all-there-is. In other words; the real and true answers to our situation are non-institutional, and rooted in the resurrected eternal heavenly life to come. Such real answers derive from our-selves and our freedom, our direct and personal relationships with God and Jesus Christ and divine creation in general; and the answers work by love between persons and Beings.     

A world of tactics without strategy: Spiritual negation of the nation

Progress? Britain 2020..

And... Britain 2024...

This is no more than a small hunch or "observation" derived from my intuitive-feelings about The West now, especially the UK, especially England. 

There is an extraordinary and surprising vacuity of thought and attention. 

I would have expected that, by now, some-thing or another - something Big - would have been imposed upon us by the government-media-corporate Establishment...

I expected some kind of Big Thing like the Birdemic, MLB-type antiracism, the peck-frenzy or some other healthism, some ginned-up Climate Emergency; or a war-fever. Maybe even something new? 

(Well, no I didn't really expect anything new, because there hasn't been anything culturally new since the 1970s. But some novel spin on the old-things, perhaps?)

But, so-far - as of writing - none. 

Just the usual bunch of little, stale and distinctly half-hearted, pseudo-issues - perhaps mainly a drip-drip manipulation towards "electing" a government in which the puppets are Labour Party Tweedledums, instead of the usual Conservative Tweedledees. Yawn...

But British people have, at root, never been less interested in politics, never less enthusiastic about the positive possibilities of any allowable regime change. 

(The last residue of optimism was crushed by the vacuity - the pseudo-victory that was utter defeat - that is BRINO... Last year saw the highest {admitted} levels of UK mass immigration in history - something like 700K extra people {presumably plus those many deliberately not counted}; an extra 1% in 1 year with similar levels for more or less for 20 years; more people than a city the size of Sheffield - fifth biggest in England.)

Nothing has been learned from 2020, there is zero interest or insight concerning UK's adoption of a front-line and firing-line role in the Fire Nation war - indeed there is neither interest-in nor knowledge-of anything at all important. 

Life now is a vast and settled state of spiritual negation. 

The past has less and less influence, but the direction and destination future is ignored as far as possible; yet the present is (compared with 50 years ago) hedged-about with pervasive guilt, chronic resentments - potentially-overwhelming fear and despair are only a heart-beat away. 

What applies to England and the UK, applies to Western civilization - and indeed to most of the world. 

Our civilization is bored with itself, and aspires no higher than temporary distraction from a futility that is baked-into its core and deepest assumptions. 

The highest virtues in everyday life are means without ends; such as cheerfulness, niceness, sociability, and a keenness to express "concern" on matters that are encouraged - or at least allowed. Energy is admired - so long it is directed into short-termist goals like sports, pop music, charitable work, travel...  

This is a world of tactics without strategy, survival without meaning; as we see in Western attitudes to the Arrakis war, in which opinions (for what they are worth!) run high on both sides, and "peace" is the mantra; but where there is no remotely realistic long-term "goal" that does not entail annihilation of at least one side, and potentially both.  

The bottom line (when there is one, e.g. in wars) goes no further than mere survival*. Survival for what? - has become the unanswerable, hence unaskable, question. 

*Or since survival is impossible in this mortal, entropic world - what is on-offer is not so much survival as... somewhat prolonged, continued-existence...   

Our culture has defined this life as without ultimate purpose or meaning, and taking place in an accidental universe; and the mass of people now operate on that basis. 

In such a world that cannot be any real strategy; and life devolves to tactics for getting-by... 

Until getting-by is recognized as more trouble than it is worth. 

The only solution is in our own individual minds; but hidden so deep in our assumptions, that most people regard it as irrelevant to "real life"; or non-existent - mere wishful thinking.

Thus we make our own thought-prisons, lock ourselves inside, hide the key - then forget that it ever existed.
