"Building alternative institutions" - it's already been tried, and has failed

There is a lot of talk in my corner of the interweb about the need to build 'alternative institutions' - and that from these we can fight, and eventually beat, the global totalitarian atheist-leftist System. 

The trouble is that this strategy has been tried, pretty thoroughly - and failed. 

In the evangelical Protestant churches (especially in the USA) from the 1960s onward, in response to influential theorists such as Francis Schaeffer, there was a pretty determined attempt to develop churches that provided a range of services - including education from schooling through to colleges and universities. 

Such churches, with such ideals, were the major growth area of Christianity in The West over the past half-century - and the only kind of Christian church capable of attracting and retaining men and young people in significant numbers; and of providing a parallel economy and employment. 

I was a member of this kind of church that grew greatly over forty years, to provide a wide range of activities and children-youth activities through childhood and extending into college - the church also tried to start a school, but was thwarted by the UK educational bureaucracy. 

Indeed, the Mormon church developed many alternative institutions, starting in the middle 19th century - and (in its heartlands) provided a very impressive 'parallel social world' of church-run activities of many kinds - from cradle to grave. 

And, of course, the Roman Catholic church had centuries of experience developing 'alternative' social structures in the West - with religious orders and secular priests providing an apparently autonomous personnel, schools and colleges, social clubs and a multitude of other activities and employments. Almost - it seemed - a parallel world...  

Therefore, the situation was that many Christians of many kinds - right up into the new millennium - really thought they already had a set of alternative institutions. 

The problem is that such alternative institutions became corrupted and converged; and when it came to 2020 and the demonic coup - the evangelicals and Mormons alike eagerly, enthusiastically, obeyed the rules designed to destroy the Christian churches.

Instead of (as people like me had hoped they would) providing a strong communal basis and support for resisting and maybe overcoming anti-Christian pressures from the mainstream...

Instead of this, and after decades/ centuries of hard work in building them; when times got really tough and they were most needed - the alternative institutions turned out Not to be 'alternative' after all! 

Just, after all, different 'flavours' of the same universal institutional convergence onto the global-left-totalitarian agenda. 

So I hold out no optimism for new alternative institutions as a strategy for prosecuting the spiritual war of these times. 

It is easy to say that future alternative institutions will retain their purity and independence in ways that the evangelicals and Mormons failed to do; but the multiple pressures on any institution that must function in the context of a globally-hegemonic secular-left bureaucracy and mass media are greater now than they ever have been. 

And the problems of trying to grow social institutions in a world where left-secular assumptions are ever more pervasive and extreme are also worse than ever. 

And there are fewer Christians who even want these things than ever before - as demonstrated by their mass compliance with the anti-Christian (anti-human) policies advocated by their corrupted leaderships. 

I don't see the prospects for genuinely alternative Christian institutions in 2022 as being any better than they were in the past decades; when this strategy was tried and comprehensively failed. 

Being realistic: quite the contrary. 

The same options as ever remain for Christians institutions whether churches or alternative social groupings of of other kinds: stay pure... but small, weak and outside of the society (if that is indeed allowed - which is increasingly doubtful)...

Or else grow ... but by compromising with 'the world', and at the cost of creeping corruption and self-subversion - tending always towards assimilation with the goals of Systemic Evil, sooner or later.  

Renewal by Schism: How might Christian churches be purged of corruption and affiliation to evil, and restored to God-affiliation?

One difficult lesson of these times is that institutions are finished - in the sense that they are irreversibly corrupted, no longer what they were (what they were, in some instances, even just a few decades ago); they no longer effectively (never mind efficiently) perform the core/ mission functions that are supposed to justify their existence - and indeed, have near zero interest in performing these functions. 

Overall-corruption is the case (to different degrees, but always to a significant extent) of all large institutions that are a part of the mainstream bureaucratic system - because in order to survive, they must satisfy a great raft of bureaucratic demands; and these bureaucratic demands are purposively evil - hence deliberately function-destroying (because evil is anti-creation, and pro-chaos). 

This is true of all large, powerful, wealthy, and high status institutions - and it is increasingly true even of many small institutions such as family businesses, farms, shops, clubs and churches. 

We saw from the birdemic (and globally antiracist, and protrans) year of 2020 how many of these small institutions willingly, indeed enthusiastically, supported and assimilated-to the globalist imperatives - going beyond minimum requirements, and maintaining requirements beyond the period of compulsion. 

What this means is that the corruption is irreversible, especially for the largest/ most-powerful etc. institutions, because it is very difficult indeed (and extremely rare) to turn-around any large institutions when it has been corrupted thoroughly for a prolonged period. 

And even less likely when this corruption is almost universal - so that forces from external corruption tend to sustain, and increase, inner corruption. 

And reversing of corruption is all-but impossible when there are extremely few individual persons who do not substantially share in the ideology of corruption - and when there are essentially zero individuals in positions of power who are not active in their desire for sustained and increased corruption.  

I regard the likeliest outcome as a general civilizational collapse (the giga-death scenario, triggered by one or many possible triggers - spiritual, biological and economic-political). 

But in the mean time, unless or until that collapse, the only realistic possibility of renewal at the institutional level is likely to be by creative destruction. 

Insofar as there is truth in the economic doctrines of 'free markets' and of improvement in efficiency by competition; economic growth seems to work very little by corporations improving themselves in order to better compete; and much more often by creative destruction - meaning de facto deletion of the old - less effective, less efficient institutions/ technologies/ industries/ firms - and replacement by new. 

(As when railways replaced canals, cars replaced horses, or the internet replaced print.)

So, when there is a seriously/ extremely/ long-term corrupt factory/ school/ hospital/ police force or whatever - this is unreformable. The inertia and corrupted motivations of established personnel and dysfunctional systems will oppose and overwhelm any gradual internal attempts at improvement. 

Therefore; the best way (and in practice perhaps the Only way) to improve the situation is by creative destruction: to abolish and renew. 

That is; the strategy should be for the uncorrupted to leave and (if possible) shut-down the corrupt institution altogether; and make a new and better institution - rebuilding from whatever is good, uncorrupted and properly-orientated personnel that remain. 

This applies to the corrupted major religions and specific churches, whenever they are large/ wealthy/ powerful, and are therefore integrated with the corrupting global bureaucracies. 

These churches are unreformable as-a-whole - and therefore need to be abandoned, and their Christian functionality rebuilt from what Pope Benedict XVI called a creative minority. 

In other words, there needs to be schism if the corruption of major churches is to be addressed effectively, and if their Christian mission is to be renewed. 

The real Christians need to leave the evil-corrupted majority; and rebuild new institutions. And this applies to all types and denominations of Christian: Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Nonconformist, Mormon etc. - because all of these are converged to the Satanic totalitarian globalist agenda; and all are increasing in corruption: directed by top-down leadership and a majority of overall-leftist-assimilated (hence evil-affiliated) 'laity'. 

This creative destruction may or may not work - who knows the future? 

If it goes wrong, there will be an increase of destruction but without creation. It may indeed turn-out that All institutions are now inevitably corrupted to evil at this time and place in human history. 

In which case Christianity must revert (or rather, move forward, voluntarily) to a family-type and scale of organization.

But renewal by schism seems the only strategy with a realistic chance of achieving the goal of an institutional church that is net-Christian and affiliated with God, creation and Jesus Christ; rather than - as a present - net-anti-Christian/ pro-demonic. 

 

Five degrees of Political Correctness/ "convergence"

My basic understanding is that Political Correctness/ Secular Leftism is here-and-now pervasive in all large or powerful institutions and organisations in the developed world - in all the mainstream political groups and parties (right, left and centre, nationalist and internationalist, totalitarian and libertarian) - and in all the individual persons in positions of significant leadership and power.

Digging deeper, metaphysically this represents that major type of Positivism (aka. materialism, reductionism, scientism) that dominates the modern era (increasingly since roughly the 1600s, obvious since about 1800, dominant since the middle 1960s).

Nonetheless, although I regard the most important insight to be that the PC ideology is pervasive - there is a secondary question of degree of 'covergence' - and 'Vox Day' has come up with a thought-provoking preliminary checklist for classification. 

Convergence describes the degree to which an organization prioritizes social justice. There are five stages of corporate convergence:

Infiltrated. The corporation has been entered by people devoted to social justice, but they do not have any significant influence or authority within the company. Employees are hired, fired, and promoted on the basis of either merit or connections. The marketing tends to reflect the company's products and services.

Lightly Converged. The social justice infiltrators have begun to move into their preferred areas, such as Human Resources and Marketing, but they don't have any real influence over the corporation's policies or corporate strategies. The company starts to make occasional noises about "outreach" and "diversity", but doesn't actually change its employment practices. The marketing is still mostly about the company's products, but now features improbably diverse scenarios.

Moderately Converged. Social justice advocates now control Human Resources, which is used as a corporate high ground to exert influence over other departments as well as the executive team. The corporate marketing begins to devote more attention to signaling corporate virtue than selling its products. Managers are encouraged to hire diverse candidates and to stop holding low-performance employees accountable. HR begins holding mandatory awareness sessions and hiring diversity consultants. The corporation's customer service begins to go downhill.

Heavily Converged. Social justice advocates now control the corporate high ground and the strategic centers. Significant elements of the executive team and the board are devoted to social justice, often in a very public manner. Implicit hiring quotas are imposed and it becomes almost impossible to fire anyone for anything short of murder in the workplace. HR openly dictates corporate policy to employees, often without consulting the executives. The marketing materials not only signal corporate virtue, but openly advocate various social justice issues. The corporation shows indifference to its core customer base and begins to obsess over new markets that mostly exist in its imagination.

Fully Converged. The corporation devotes significant resources to social causes that have absolutely nothing to do with its core business activities. Human Resources is transformed into a full Inquisition, imposing its policies without restraint and striking fear into everyone from the Chairman of the Board on down. The CEO regularly mouths social justice platitudes in the place of corporate strategies and the marketing materials are so full of virtue-signaling and social justice advocacy that it becomes difficult to tell from them what the company actually does or sells. The corporation now shows open contempt for its customers.


This seems like an accurate classification, overall (including that there is no zero-point mentioned - because I would assert that all corporations are at least 'infiltrated').

I would have three suggestions:

1. The corporations/ organisations/ institutions I know best - UK Universities and the NHS - seem to lie in-between moderately-and heavily converged; i.e. to be moderately transitioning to heavily converged.

If this is, indeed, the commonest current state, then perhaps it should have its own category?

2. "Managers are encouraged to ... stop holding low-performance employees accountable."

This is correct in terms of accountability for employee performance in what is advertised as the institution's core business activities (products, services or whatever).

But does not seem to capture the whole picture, in the sense that my impression is that increasingly even the slightest degree of complaint, dissent or disobedience often seems to be enough to provoke sanctions from HR (legal sanctions, entrapment/ dirty tricks, and full-on psychological threats and harassment) - even when that employee contributes greatly to the core business.

So, as with most tyrannies, in the modern institution obedience to (the real) authority is the primary virtue, and disobedience the only sanctioned sin.   

3. The essence of political correctness is that it is oppositional (i.e. the Left is always, overall and strategically opposed to The Good - but what aspect of Good is being attacked varies by time and place).

'Convergence' therefore has no stable positive doctrine. No 'utopia'. By which I mean that the positive doctrines (equality, antiracism, feminism, the sexual revolution in its various aspects) are merely expedient and temporary; so that in-groups and out-groups are frequently being changed.

Therefore, in the converged corporation (as in the Soviet Union) nobody and no group is ever safe - at least, not for long. Any sometime celebrated and indulged group (e.g. The Proletariat) can later become relabelled as public enemy number one (white, male, native-born 'rednecks').

Things coming to a point - running-out of other-people's money

The cost of incrementally destroying the specific functionality of all social institutions, and making them into a single bureaucracy converged upon Leftist ideals (diversity, sustainability, inclusion, social justice blah blah blah...) - is that all institutions require more and more subsidy; not least because they are so managerialist and clogged with Red Tape that nobody will work for them unless they are paid market rates.

And - in our kind of society - the subsidy is extracted from a small base of productive workers; who are so demonised, hassled and demoralised that the base is shrinking ever faster than already imposed by the inefficiency and ineffectiveness of being controlled by converged institutions.

As Margaret Thatcher said - the problem with socialism is that, sooner or later, you run out of other people's money. She was right about the economics - but of course the real problem with socialism goes much deeper: for example, the denial of God; the spiritual realm; and the objectivity of truth, beauty and virtue...

Therefore, things are failing faster and faster - and whereas in the more recent past, failing institutions would be absorbed into the state-business-media-bureaucracy-plex; now they are becoming too frequent and too many to be able to do so.

The process of convergence deeds-upon itself, is therefore depends upon accelerating, and therefore the point at which it will become unsustainable gets closer with increasing rapidity. 

A straw in the wind is that the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is now (apparently) rapidly approaching bankruptcy only six months after the CJCLDS (Mormon Church) finally decided to leave the BSA in response to ever-increasing Leftist/ sexual multi-corruption.

Among those who knew how the BSA worked (and how much they depended on Mormon membership, leadership and funding), it was confidently known that the BSA must collapse (either to closure or being taken-over) - but the speed at which this happened has probably surprised everybody. 

(...Even the BSA management, who - no doubt - expected to be long gone by the time that the consequences of their ideologically-driven incomptetence came home to roost.)

These signs of impending collapse are, obviously, getting closer together at an increasing rate - i.e. things are coming to a point.

What to do? Well, it is not your job or my job to prop-up and re-vitalise Western or even National civilization (if such a thing even makes sense, which it probably does not)... and in this world of hollow and dysfunctional institutions if something can't be done at the individual level, it ain't going to happen at all...

Our job is to be clear about what is going on in terms of Spiritual Warfare - to take the Big Perspective that Christians are everlasting Beings to whom our mortal lives, and this earth, are very important but part of an eternal time-frame.

And then to act accordingly.

No institutional escape from Wokeness. With organisation versus The System - Resistance is Futile!

The Borg are the deadliest threat to the universe in Star Trek — The Next Generation. Part man, part machine, with each member participating in the group consciousness; the Borg act with a single ant-like will, and when one is defeated another steps forward to take its place.

In fact, the Borg are totalitarian bureaucrats; especially those with transhumanist aspirations for omni-surveillance and micro-control. And both Borg and Bureaucrat share the same mantra (in various versions): statement — resistance is futile.

At the level of institutions, this is correct - resistance is indeed futile.

Why? Because, all human institutions, corporations, organisations, functional or formal systems... are indeed mini abstract 'systems' that are linked to 'The System' (The Borg) by laws, rules, regulations, practices, use of money, taxes, banking and accounting, use of mass media, use of electricity and other utilities... linked, therefore, to that totalitarian bureaucracy which spans the world and has penetrated deep into all of our lives.


If, for example, a church (any church) tries to resist the Borg, and to remain unassimilated, it is identified as a threat and destroyed via one or more of the systemic links with the uni-System; via media firestorm or endemic vilification; political condemnation; punitive tax auditing or accounts auditing; prosecutions by employment law, hate crime law, be found to violate 'terms of service' from media and utilities and providers of internal services ...

That is, the church will - one way or another - have costs inflicted incrementally, open-endedly, and without limit; until it is destroyed as A-system distinct-from The System. Once identified, its separate organisation will be destroyed or else assimilated: that is the choice for modern institutions.

In political terms the choice is convergence, which is absorption; or death as an institution that is effective in The World.


As long as The System - the single atheist, leftist, totalitarian bureaucracy - continues there is no escape for systems.  

In a world of Woke institutions, only the 'Woke' will continue to survive...

But the Woke institutions 'survive' only by assimilation into the leftist, converged, Woke World that is The Single System: that totalitarian, increasingly transhumanist, bureaucracy which is controlled by the demonic Establishment.


So there will be (there already is.. all-but) nothing-but the individual and the non-institutional personal and loving relationships around that individual (principally the family); and on the other hand: The System.

All the institutions, churches, professions, corporations and all of 'civil society' that once bridged the gap between individual and totality, will have been destroyed or absorbed.

Man as a divine child of God, will be confronted by demonic collective that is The Borg: the Ahrimanic Satan, the coordinated world of purposive evil. Any person who affiliates to any ostensible institution will, in fact - as bottom-line, be affiliated to The Borg.


And these are the End Times, when the Christian Churches are being (or have already been) assimilated to the System of Evil because they are systems; and only individual persons that are motivated by love of God and fellow Men will be outwith the world of system/s.

And by love I mean real love, not operational, measurable, public-discourse altruism; because all the abstract altruists - those who aspire to loss of ego, consciousness and an end to thinking; those who regard the group as higher than persons - will have long-since surrendered their 'selves' to the merged uni-mind of the Borg.

Note: This is a deeper understanding of the current observation 'Go woke, go broke' - that when an organisation converges onto mainstream politically-correct Leftism - it will 'go broke'.  This is true, but irrelevant to the management, who will simply move on to another institution, with enhanced credentials from their Go Woke activism. If a broke organisation is useful to The System, it will simply be absorbed bureaucratically; and (while The System lasts) sustained with monopolistic privileges, subsidies, destruction of rivals (by taxation, law-fare or whatever). For example, mass higher education is long-since Woke and Broke; but sustained (and expanded) by subsidies of multiple kinds: tuition grants and debt-trapping loans, 'research' grants, grants funding manadatory bureaucratic compliance, requirements for paper credentials enforced by the state, multi-pronged attacks on non-Woke alternative providers (e.g. for-profit colleges) etc. Go Broke and Go Woke are therefore, in practice, synergistic - so long as that Wokeness is subservient to The System.   

Institutional convergence and institutional addiction (Is the world trying to tell us something?)

'Convergence' is a useful and apt recent usage to describe the process by which all modern Western institutions are becoming one kind of socio-politically-orientated organisation; all these organisations are becoming bureaucracies; and all these bureaucracies are joining to make a single, ultimately global, totalitarian (hence evil) system.

For more than fifty years there has been a general trend towards institutional corruption in The West; if corruption is defined as an institution purposively-failing to pursue its designated function.

Convergence is now, already, established as a universal fact: socio-political considerations are primary in all organisations that are large, powerful or high status.

There is zero institutional resistance to convergence; all institutional power is now in favour of continued, universal convergence; the drive is everywhere to extend its scope and pervasiveness.

The world is trying to tell us that institutions are evil. 

But we don't want to hear this. 

We remain institutionally-addicted. People so much want what institutions pretend to offer, that they are self-blinded to the reality of actual, achieved, increasing convergence.

Leaving aside the materialist consequences of converged institutions (inevitable socio-political collapse) we need to consider the spiritual aspect; because it is that failure which drives convergence.

When all institutions are net-evil; goodness is to be found in individuals or nowhere. 

If we want to be Good, we must take personal responsibility.

When someone very belatedly notices some specific problem, that has actually been massive and "obvious" for decades...

Every day, more than once a day, I come across somebody (IRL, or on media) who reports, tentatively - as if making some wild claim - that he has noticed something... some-thing that has been massive, and should-have-been grossly-obvious, for decades. 

Some people regard this level of insight as a promising sign of someone coming to his senses, and beginning to extract himself from the propaganda systems in which he is immersed...

But in practice this almost never happens. 

Instead - maybe - the first noticing leads merely to some very restricted insight into some circumscribed domain of Western society; with nearly all the rest of it being taken on trust, and regarded -indeed - as solid and true, so it is implied that if This-Problem could be fixed, then Life would be much better. 

Apparently, individuals get so smug about noticing some-one-thing, and so preoccupied with "fixing" it, that they feel no need to venture into more dangerous levels of understanding ^. 

Partial and superficial understanding, then blocks anything genuine; anything potentially of spiritual value. 

Hence we get the Single Issue (or handful of issue) Politics that plagues our age. Those people and organizations who always trace everything back to One Fundamental Cause: to some specific group of people, some particularly malign economic or social principle or motive, some particular form of persecution, some particular sin... 

Whatever. 

(And once decided upon, this "root cause of all our significant ills" becomes un-dis-provable - and supportive-evidence is found everywhere...! Such is human nature, and the constraints of argument and proof - which depend on assumptions far more than upon "evidence".)

What I find so dismaying about these partially-insightful, partly-aware, people is that - from my understanding - things-in-general are much, much worse than they suppose; the state-of-the-world is far more pervasively and deeply evil than they seem capable of imagining.

To me; these folk - who very explicitly regard themselves as clear-sighted, tough-minded, "red pilled", ready-for-anything - strike me as dewy-eyed optimists...

Too insecure and emotionally fragile to confront reality*. 

And this is simply because such half-awake, semi-realistic folk are viscerally invested primarily in their own status and success in this world - the same world that they pretend to critique savagely - yet the world from-which they yearn for recognition and reward.   

Such people cannot countenance the real nature of this world without despairing - so they cling to a distorted picture of our situation: a world-picture that is acknowledged to be faulty only to such an extent that they can convince themselves of the possibility of fixing it. 

If only - they assert - everyone-else would believe as I believe, do as I do, do what I tell them - then everybody would be So Much better-off. 

Any recognition of the deep, pervasive, and intractable nature of the flaws of this world in general and Western Civilization in particular (including, of course, its self-identified Christian churches) - is rejected with a savagery borne of a this-worldly idealism that feels itself to be on the cusp of becoming overwhelmed by incipient despair.

^ It is often asserted that "surely it will do some good" if the single-issue problem is fixed, or even ameliorated. This is a seductive argument, because in an idealised model of the situation it seems obviously to be the case that things would be better if such-and-such a problem were improved. But there are two usually-lethal difficulties: one proximate and practical, the other ultimate and even-in-theory. 

The practical difficulty is that there is always some very powerful within-System reason why any clear and serious problem (like open-ended mass immigration to the UK caused by European Union rules) that could straightforwardly be fixed, has actually not been fixed. This means that the totalitarian system does not want the problem fixed, which means that The System will fight hard against fixing, making even the slightest change extremely resource and time-consuming; and The System will do all it can to sabotage the process. So Brexit (voted for in 2016) was supposed to fix the problem of UK mass immigration at a stroke. But the totalitarian Establishment sabotaged Brexit to "BRINO" (Brexit in name only), and mass immigration has in fact increased very substantially since to reach record levels (admitted officially a million, but really more) in 2024. Mass Immigration indeed declined rapidly and substantially, albeit briefly. when The System had other priorities - i.e. during Birdemic lockdowns, proving that the problem was easily soluble. But because The System wants to destroy the UK - including by mass immigration, MI was resumed and accelerated very quickly from summer 2020. 

As well as such pragmatic limitations, there are ultimate and theoretical reasons why fixing a specific problem, or a few specific problems, will not work - which is that the system is totalitarian; and totalitarianism is both all-inclusive at the institutional level and evil by its nature. In effect, if any specific part of The System underwent significant improvement and became more Good; this would be detected by the whole System, and the anomalous part would be "healed" - would be brought-into-line with the aims and methods of all the rest. This destructive "immune response" is indeed irresistible (which is why all significant institutions of all types have "converged": become part of the totalitarian system). All institutions are bound to the rest of the system by multiple mandatory and motivational connections - formal (like laws, taxes, subsidies, regulations etc) and informal (mass media pressures, awards or slanders, discretionary harassment by bureaucrats, infiltration by hostile pro-Establishment agents etc.). No significant institution can opt-out of The System, as of 2025; because institutions are now parts of a societal and civilizational whole.    

* Such people will not see the obvious and long-term fact that we live in a totalitarian society; a society in which bureaucracy and management (and the mass media) links and coordinates all the major social institutions - politics, civil administration, law, finance and the economy, education, police and military, science and research, the arts and entertainments, charities/ pressure-groups/ NGOs; and of course the organized and economic manifestations of religions and spiritualties. 

All institutions are now linked by rules, practices, and a value-system. All are monitored, controlled, propagandized by a multitude of mechanisms. 

This includes everything you can think of in the societal realm; excepting (for some people, some of the time) our-selves (i.e. our divine, primal selves) and some primarily-motivating personal and loving relationships - such as the family.  

Thus, The totalitarian System is neither all-powerful nor all-knowing; yet to underestimate its scope and capability - to regard its flaws as if a fixable glitch - is merely to confirm that you are yourself inside The System . 

Totalitarianism means that all social-activity is linked; there is no discrete, detachable or specific problem - so there is no realistic possibility of significant reform within The System we actually inhabit.  

And The System is everything in the public domain (i.e. all those institutions described previously) - so that we all depend upon it for all of those functionalities. Casual talk of destroying The System fails to account for this destroying functionality, and the means of support. 

The real-reality is that we all depend - for nearly-all the many aspects of living - upon the same System that is purposively evil; and is purposively destroying itself, and destroying us. 

Such - nothing less! - is the scope and nature of our situation.

NOTE ADDED: The above is not a counsel of despair, not unless you believe that institutions and their practices are everything that is significant, and this-world is all-there-is. In other words; the real and true answers to our situation are non-institutional, and rooted in the resurrected eternal heavenly life to come. Such real answers derive from our-selves and our freedom, our direct and personal relationships with God and Jesus Christ and divine creation in general; and the answers work by love between persons and Beings.     

Defence against Psychic Attacks of the totalitarian-materialist kind

Traditional psychic attacks are (or were) of a spectacular nature; such as a person being made sick, or becoming possessed with mind and body under control from some evil spirit, or demon. 

While (apparently) still happening to some extent; modern psychic attacks are very different in form, much less spectacular, much more insidious, and so common as to be completely unnoticed. 

Traditional psychic attacks (supposedly) depend - to some degree - with someone inviting possession, or surrendering will to another being - a being that is motivated by self-gratifying emotions such as lust, power, or pleasure in inflicting pain. 

Modern psychic attacks are usually mundane, mainstream; indeed, so normal as to be completely unremarkable. 

They involve surrender to materialism, to the will of the totalitarian system, to the guidance of some external "group-mind", and abrogation of personal responsibility.

Such psychic attack is pervasive and continuous, and happens via official sources, educational institutions, the mass media, laws and regulations - and pretty much all of the major social institutions - the arts, science, the police and military - and the churches. 

In a world where all social institutions and groups are more or less, and increasingly, corrupted by the totalitarian agenda of evil; anyone who chooses to serve any institution; who chooses to take their facts, concepts, motivations etc. from the civilizational and social group-mind - any such person (and this may be a majority) has yielded willingly to this evil form of psychic attack.    

And in a societal world of pervasive spiritual corruption it all slips-by unnoticed. 

And most Christians are as much willing victims of such psychic attack as anyone else - because they have chosen to put their faith primarily in a social institution, to serve and obey a social institution. Because all major churches are system-converged; they devoutly blot-up the psychic attacks, along with their religion. 

Such psychic attacks are simply a part of the major strategy of evil; which is to induce people to deny/ ignore/ subordinate the spiritual; to think materially and put materialist reasoning first, to focus primarily on this mortal life and its conditions; and to be orientated-towards (and motivated-by) the normal, ordinary civilizational group-mind. 

When this has been achieved (as it very largely has by-now) then whoever controls the material world, control the minds as well. 

For example; censorship, selection and control of those perceptions and concepts that are regarded as high status, authoritative, official - worthy of consideration and belief - entails mind-control of those materialists who interact with them.  

So we find that victims of modern psychic attack are just normal, ordinary, decent, respectable people - modestly thinking and doing what such people think and do. 

(Intelligent, modest, sensible folk - because to reject the mind-control of specialized social institutions would be dumb, arrogant, or just insane.)

The fact that their minds and bodies are colonized by demonic will seems absurd because theirs is a majority behaviour. 

There is no defence against this demonic influence, unless it is acknowledged to be happening; and the Christian churches are net-agents of exactly this form of psychic attack - so they are not going to acknowledge it!  

As with all psychic self-defence, the Big Thing is Not to invite evil into one's self, Not deliberately to surrender one's will to an external will that system-assimilated; hence opposed to God and divine creation.

And instead to adhere to the principles of Christian faith that the material is only a sub-set of the larger spiritual world; that this mortal life is only a finite episode in our eternal lives; and that we are committed to following Jesus to eternal resurrected life in Heaven. 

Against the siren calls of materialism - of the escapist illusions of safety, power, pleasure; there is a determination to consider first love as primary value; and our personal and creative destiny in this mortal life; and to be rooted (as best we may) in that which is divine within our-selves; and our personal and direct relation with the Holy Ghost.    

If the Apocalyptic power grab (by totalitarian bureaucracy) really is coming soon; what should I do? Prepare spiritually...

I wrote the other day that it seems - from the rhetoric of the Global Establishment, their servants and pawns; that the Apocalypse is coming on a timescale of months.

In other words, that (apparently) there will soon be an engineered crisis that will be used to justify a power grab and a qualitative (and, it is intended, irreversible) move toward totalitarian world government operating by a single, linked-and-converged bureaucracy.

If so, then what?


Well, what must be done, must be done by individuals - specifically by me and by you - because if we wait for groups or institutions to decide to do something, nothing will be done because all are corrupted or too weak. All the strong institutions are corrupted, all the uncorrupted institutions are too weak to stop the Apocalypse - and that is why it is coming Now.

So what should we do, you and I?

The answer is very simple: prepare spiritually.

Not to prevent the Apocalypse, because we can't. They have power to collapse the world economy and developed societies; and to perform innumerable major atrocities such as war, famine, epidemic...

What we can do is decide and resolve how we personally will react when it comes - what we will do and what we will not. Because, no man is an island, and no Good action, nothing derived from love of God and Neighbour, from faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour - including our thoughts - will lack general effect.

I think this is the vital matter. 'Actions' include inner actions, include our real, active, free thinking. At the ultimate and most-real level we aren't isolated minds; but are instead all Children of God, therefore with 'a bit of god' in each of us and linked together by the Holy Ghost.


We must recognise that Apocalypse is a spiritual war, and all else is secondary; the stakes are damnation.

Even if the world-as-we-know-it is brought-to-its-knees, yet if we ourselves do not embrace damnation, then we have won.

That is one thing (The one thing) we can certainly do; and it is the basis of any other Good thing we might do; such as, by our love, helping to save one or more others from damnation.

Secret Christians - The future of Christian churches in a totalitarian bureaucratic world

We can already see what must be set aside by any church, if it is to remain truly Christian rather than simply being assimilated to The Borg of mainstream, global, bureaucratic, totalitarian (and increasingly transhumanist) demonic Leftism.

Recent and increasing deplatformings and withdrawals of service, and the implementation of employment laws, codes of practice and service etc; means that all the formal organisational aspects of churches will become impossible - unless the church yields to the imperatives of leftist bureaucracy.


For example, no organisation that receives any funding or charitable status will be able to be anti-abortion; no organisation will be able to employ and pay people (e.g. as priests) without conforming to regulations about sexual and racial quotas and inclusions; training of priests will be subject to the constraints of all secular educational institutions; church offices will need to comply with the leftist agenda about hostile or exclusionary workplaces; within-church interactions must comply with the prevalent anti-Christian/ anti-white apparatus of 'hate' crimes; no organisation with accounts will be able to avoid 'quality assurance' practices that embody leftist assumptions; no buildings or rooms can be owned, used or hired if they do not conform to the codes of practice and mission statements of those who control them (including fire regulations, health and safety etc); no large or regular assembly of people will be allowed when these are regarded as contributing to the possibility of civil disorder (including by those - such as 'antifa' - threatening to invade or harass them); no groups will be allowed that can be represented as a conspiracy towards racial supremacy, patriarchy, hatred of QWERTY people or immigrants, or people of other-religions or no-religion - or to the overthrow of the present order (e.g. by working towards Zion or the Second Coming); and the Bible is already regarded as a text of hatred - and dissemination, speaking or teaching from the Bible is already restricted in public places and teaching situations - so presumably the possession of unbowdlerised-left-noncompliant scriptures will soon be forbidden...


In sum, real Christian churches as formal institutions will become impossible.

If a church remains a normal institution that employs people or uses money, gets any grants or tax exemptions, uses buildings to gather large groups, uses written or internet or social media, uses financial tools and accounting - then it will (sooner rather than later) be compelled into the demonic agenda. It will be converged: absorbed by The Borg*.

And all this will be enforced by the vastly increased mechanisms of omni-surveillance and micro-control; so that even a few people meeting may be known, and quite possibly filmed or recorded.


So Christians will need to become secret, and so will churches.

All relations among Christians, within or between churches, will need to become personal, verbal, and probably encoded (with changing codes); assemblies will be small or deniable (eg. within families - if families are permitted).

The only 'thing' that can hold-together churches under such circumstances is... Love. There will be no help from law, habit or social pressure. Churches will have to be based-upon, grow-from, pure Love - or there will be nothing.

And this, presumably, is our test - in these Latter Days, these End Times... Things are coming to a point at which the primary issue of this mortal life becomes crystal clear; and the choice for or against God becomes stark and unavoidable.


*This is why the process of evil works from the top downwards; why modern institutions (including churches) nowadays always rot starting with the head - that is, with those interacting most with the surrounding bureaucracies. This is the nature of the type of evil dominant in this era: the Ahrimanic. This is the regular pattern of corruption of which people in churches need to be aware. 

Note: In reality - this is one possible extreme which may or may not be reached - but so long as the current World Order continues, there will be incremental and irreversible movement towards this situation. 

It is well to be prepared.

Don't seek or take Generic Advice! Or, what should "people" actually "Do about things" (considering the way "things" are going...)?

I often (far too often!) see bloggers advising their readers what to do in face of the way the world is going - and commenters asking bloggers what to do! 

Where should I go (to be safe)? What job should I do (to avoid converged SJWs and enforced political correctness)? How can I find a community of like-minded?

Aside from the innate absurdity of offering and seeking such answers in the context of a mass medium (albeit, not very "mass" compared to the big stuff); and exacerbated when the communicative exchange is between pseudonymous bloggers and/or commenters - who know very-little or nothing-at-all about each other... 

Aside from such constraints; the assumption behind such activity is that there is such a thing as generically wise, or at least expedient, advice: advice that is good for everyone, works for everyone.

However this may be for material secular goals (such as finding a "safe" place to live; or discovering how to seduce more 'women'... seduce them in a properly 'Christian' way, natch!); this offering and seeking of generic guidance is Not Good for spiritual goals. 

Of course, there can be generic but broadly-valid negative advice: such as what Not to do - yet even here, in the world as it is - there are just so many things that we ought not to do, that (in practice) we cannot not do all of them.  

Good advice might be - Don't live in an especially leftist part of a leftist nation; don't work in a highly-converged profession, don't take a job in an institution dominated by SJWs... 

Yet the nature of this world is that All nations, professions and institutions (of any size and power) are substantially converged with leftist evil - and getting worse.  

People must live somewhere, and there are massive costs to relocating; people must have some kind of job and work someplace - and it is merely a matter of degree as to how evil each of the options currently are. 

We cannot avoid doing evil in such a pervasively evil world; in the end we can only do our feeble best, and then we  must repent our many sins -- which is not, or should not be, a fatal problem for Christians. Jesus came to save sinners, after all. 

But the deep problem isn't what Not to do in an evil: it is what we ought-to-do; what particular path we should follow in a world where all generic options are merely choices between evils.   

My contrary contention is that instead of trying to apply generic advice to our specific situation in a top-down fashion; we ought instead to start from who we personally are and our personal situation. 

Guidance should be generated bottom-up, not top-down; and the goals sought should be spiritual, not physical-material.

So it is a bad idea to seek 'safety' or 'security' as a goal (motivated by fear); because fear is a sin - and to seek escape from fear is to be sinfully-motivated. 

And because there is no spiritual safety to be had, anywhere, ever. Our world is spiritually evil and getting worse, and more chaotic. 

To seek safety-security in these End Times is like moving to a safer cabin on the Titanic - but worse than that, because it is to affirm and abet the atheist-materialist-leftist evil framework. 

It is to accept the modern world as-is (and as-becoming worse) and to try and make the best of an evil thing: to try to exploit, and thus intrinsically to sustain, the ongoing collapse of Good-values.  

But if not, then what? 

If not generic and material advice; how does one discover spiritual and individualized guidance? 

The is a short answer: which is that we have both internal and external sources of divine guidance. There is that-which is divine in each of us - as sons and daughters of God; and there is the Holy Ghost - which can teach us "all things" necessary to our salvation and for our spiritual development.  

But why should we expect there to be any genuine way in which an individual person can buck the global spiritual trend; and attain something better, something Good - in the world we live in now? 

The answer to that is very basic; which is that (as Christians) we know that God is the creator and continually creating; that God loves us each as His own child; and that our actual mortal life has a purpose - so long as it continues.

So long as we are alive, there is a reason for it, and benefit to be had. 

Therefore we must exercise the Christian virtue of Faith - trust in God's Goodness and Creative Power, which is sustained by Hope rooted in our expectation of resurrection. 

And this potential individual and spiritual benefit to be had; applies especially when we follow divine guidance and learn from what that life - that path - is designed and intended to teach us. 

Yet the fact of our agency and personal motivations implies that our life is intended to be active - therefore not merely the passive following of an externally dictated path. We learn better and more deeply when we are maximally involved in our own lives. 

Therefore divine guidance is not like a blueprint; but more of the nature of a veto when we are trying to do wrong; and an affirmation when we have worked-out the best and proper course of events for each-of-us, here and now.   

In other words; we need to work things out for ourselves, as best we can; make our choices, and then both seek divine conformation, and then (as back-up) continue to monitor things as they develop along our chosen path - to check that we did indeed make the right choice. 

So divine guidance might manifest as a strong inner sense of No when we make wrong plans; or the opposite affirmation when we get it right. 

And after we have set-out on the chosen path, there will be feedback of a positive or negative kind - so long as we seek this. 

And if, after all, we get it wrong - and perhaps wishful thinking or overmastering fear have been our real source of guidance instead of divine destiny; then when we arrive at the destination there will be further feedback as to whether our arrival is a good, or bad, thing - and we have the chance to repent. 

It is the conviction of Romantic Christianity that we each need to embrace personal responsibility for our spiritual (including religious) lives. For a Christian; this responsibility includes, vitally, the duty to seek and follow individual divine guidance as best we can; and as far as it goes. 

Societal demotivation - how far can it go?

I have been asserting for many years that motivation - the lack of it, its weakness - is the overwhelming problem in modern Western societies; and that its root is the deletion of (real) religion - which was, through recorded history, the strongest motivator of Men.

The fact that fashions and fanaticisms change so often and so fast, is a consequence; that almost nobody resists anything pushed at them; that public discourse is so reactive to top-down formation. 

That organizations no longer pursue distinctive goals; the feeble and dwindling attention span; the near-immediate memory-holing of major life experiences... all are evidences of this motivational deficit and its worsening. 

Most attempts to recover motivation, have themselves sought to create or develop external-motivators; to try and rebuild the by-now themselves externally-manipulated, corrupted and converged institutions and nations which used to be associated with a more motivated past. 

But the (supposedly) stronger external institutional motivators of the past were themselves generated and sustained by more-motivated individual Men. Modern institutions, however, are merely bureaucratic - and bureaucracy is prime evidence of our demotivated state. 

Bureaucracies are circular, self-parasitizing systems that only work when Men are significantly demotivated; and bureaucracies need to provide more and more, ever more arbitrary, micro-motivations - in order simply to continue. 

So; the desire to re-motivate Men by a resurgence of strong, self-confident, and inspiring institutions - especially churches, or The Church (i.e. 'The' for a particular person) is itself doomed to fail; since such churches will necessarily need to be made and operated by Demotivated Modern Men. 

But how far can this go? The dominant globalist totalitarian agenda is exactly calculated to demotivate the world population - in order that it be docile and manageable. 

But, at some point; won't people Just Give Up? 

...Lose motivation to live, and - with their last glimmer of motivation - yearn for, and feebly seek, only a quick and comfortable death? 

Some such dynamic would seem to underlie the rise of state-administered programs of 'assisted suicide'/ euthanasia; all of which seem readily justified to the modern mind by their promise to reduce human suffering - which seems to the modern mind the highest and noblest goal of morality.

(Not noticing the logical conclusion: when life entails suffering - then no-life seems preferable to life: and we arrive at the 'moral' justification for massive population sterilization and ('humane') annihilation.)       

Those of us who disagree-with and are resistant-to the down-spiral of demotivation are - understandably - casting-about for something to motivate them. 

But there are plenty of pitfalls if motivation becomes the proximate and this-worldly goal. 

Although we must-have something to motivate us; this does not mean that anything will suffice to do the job. 

Among the most-motivated individuals are those being progressively consumed with prideful self-love; psychopaths whose rewards come from the manipulation and harming of others; and those who embrace a kind of mania of self-stimulation and hyperactivity. 

Too many any of those who offer to lead 'us' into sunny uplands of meaningful and purposeful lives betray such or similar gross personal pathologies: in effect their own craving need for motivation fuels their crazed and unbalanced attempts at crusades. 

This includes self-identified - and indeed sincere - Christians; who lack the insight that that their own zealous and burning motivational state is using Christianity as a mere vehicle for the self-aggrandizement - a self-reinforcing process upon-which they depend like an addictive drug; a drug required in increasing doses in order to retain the (here and now, this-worldly) motivational state that they absolutely need - and without-which they would rapidly collapse into oblivion-seeking despair.  

The problem of demotivation is therefore extremely serious, central to our times, and getting worse; yet the proposed solutions often make things even-worse-still by displacing self-help into fantasies of external saving; or delivering people into the mercies of sadists, maniacs or the pathologically-driven.

As usual, any genuine solution to such deep problems will begin with acknowledging and understanding that there is a problem, and its nature. 

The right answer must, usually, come from-within - and will certainly not be imposed from without, from a dominant culture which has made and worsened the demotivated world. 

And the right answer will - surely? - be other-worldly in its primary basis and frame: will overleap the corruptions and deceptions of immediate gratification and 'success' and look beyond to life everlasting. 

From that next-worldly perspective, we may then look-back on our actual mortal life - and sufficiently recognize, understand, and be motivated to do... 

To do that which needs-to and should be done; by us, by Me: specifically and personally, starting Now. 

Fascinated by "magic"... But only a small bit of it

I have been reading magical fiction and fantasy since discovering Tolkien in 1972, and continued with a (partly academic) study of animism and shamanism in the early 2000s; but I began reading about 20th century magic at the start of 2020. 

In this I was, belatedly, following-up a recommendation by William Wildblood to read The Magical Battle of Britain by Dion Fortune edited by Gareth Knight. 

Since then I have read, and often re-read, scores of such books - nearly-all by Dion Fortune and Gareth Knight, and their close associates.

This; despite that I have near-zero interest in practicing ritual magic of any kind, and even less in participating in the kind of formal, initiating magical group that DF then GK were trained-in and led - this sustained interest in magic is strange, even to me.

Indeed, I soon concluded that this kind of ritual magical society has become nigh impossible nowadays - or, at least, it is now very weak in the pursuit of positive spiritual development, whether of individuals or (even more) of society. 

Clearly, I have got, am getting, significant satisfaction from at least some of this reading. 

But what? I would characterize it as a kind of enchantment that (sometimes) comes over me while I am reading - of a similar nature to that when reading a good fantasy novel, when encountering elves or entering faerie.

However, it is significant that DF and GK were both explicitly self-identified Christian - albeit of a very different kind than me (but then that applies to almost everybody, anyway). 

Even during the active lives of DF, and even more so GK, there were relatively few ritual magicians who considered themselves Christian. 

Nowadays; it seems that those who practice magic are almost all "neo-pagans" of one sort or another; and those that I have encountered express "anything but Christianity" at best, but are mostly (and often vehemently) anti-Christian.

(This opposition usually boils-down-to an opposition to the constraints that Christian churches have placed on sex and sexuality - i.e. they hate what they regard as Christianity "because" they support some aspect of the sexual revolution of which they desire to avail themselves.) 

While several neo-pagan magical writers seem like decent people in themselves, and surely no worse overall than many/most devout Christian church-members; I cannot shake off a solid awareness of a kind of shadow that lies behind, motivates, and tends to corrupt neo-paganism - whether magical or any other kind.

Consequently I have little interest in the present day practitioners of ritual magic - and very seldom find myself "enchanted" by their work -- indeed more often I experience the opposite: a repulsion.

So my conclusion is rather like Sturgeon's Law: probably 99% of Ritual Magic is crap - but then 99% of all actual Christian Churches (including the best) is crap. In this actual world, here-and-now, 100% of most institutions is crap. If we find something that contains even one percent that is good; then we should cleave to that tiny proportion, and set-aside the rest. 

But experiencing such repulsion when sensing the deep motivations of modern people is actually the norm for me. 

And, on the other side, I find the underlying personal character of both Dion Fortune and Gareth Knight to be very appealing and indeed inspiring; even when I regard them as mistaken or on the wrong track in many specifics.

I find that I am less and less impressed by superficial agreements or disagreements with those who I read; more and more my discernments of good and not-good people, seem to be rooted-in (what I infer to be) some much deeper level of character and attitude. 

This is yet another way in which I find myself at odds with traditional, group-based, external-authority-rooted ways of understanding the purpose and meaning of life; and of the Christian Life specifically. 

It seems to me that anybody - including those corrupted, or even of of deeply evil nature - can make public affirmations or rejections of whatever checklist of doctrines or dogmas will get them accepted by some kind of institution or social group. 

This kind of stuff (which is 99% of "religions") is nowadays (it was not always so) just about gatekeeping, boundaries, gang-membership - in short: attempts to increase this-worldly power. 

And therefore it already-is, or soon-becomes, assimilated to the aims and methods of the ruling totalitarian System; which is why in 2026 all institutions (including all churches) are converged or converging with the evil-strategies of atheistic-materialism.  

On the other side; I am both interested and grateful when I encounter a person (alive or dead) whose motivates are genuinely good; and who is working, in his inner life, for positive and spiritual goals.

I believe these to be the truest followers of Jesus; in the sense that such people are much the most likely to desire, accept, and embrace Christ's offer of post-mortal, resurrected eternal life in Heaven.  

And with such rare people, I will take them where I find them and enjoy the experience, and try to learn from it - whether such individuals are located in or out-of the institutions of ritual magic, or elsewhere.    

Merely religious-themed fandom: the Christian churches here-and-now

I was reflecting on the fate of the New Age spirituality, which began in the late seventies but hit public consciousness from the middling 1980s. 

There was a tremendous growth in this (loose) "movement" - involving huge numbers of people thousands of whom were professionals (made a living from it), thousands of book titles - with sections in mainstream bookshops and multiple specialized bookshops, a huge expansion of participation in workshops, conferences, residential weekends, pilgrimages and the like. 

It seemed to most people at the time that this was evidence of an on-going mass spiritual transformation: which would lead to a much more spiritual and personal; less materialistic and bureaucratic world.  

And yet here we are. 

Masses of people spend many hours per day interacting with the internet and social media. 

A world where small scale institutions are subordinated or co-opted or assimilated to the agenda of globalist or multi-national institutions; a world where all the crafts, guilds or professions of 1980 are now either destroyed or converged into a depersonalized (increasingly computer-mediated) totalitarian bureaucracy. 

What we got instead of spiritual transformation was spiritually-themed fandom - which is simply a component part of The System: an aspect of the Leisure Industry. 

And almost exactly the same has happened to the churches. 

Whatever hopes may have been cherished for a positively-transformative religious revival, a church-based Christian revival; have devolved into merely Religious themed-fandom. 

To be a "devout" Christian church person is nowadays a part of the leisure industry, and implicitly regarded as such - as was evident in 2020 when the churches formally acknowledged themselves to be (unlike gardening shops, for example) a part of the non-essential economy - and therefore collaborated eagerly in their own closure.  

The churches offer a variety of leisure time and sociable activities; and the really keen Christian will spend hours a day getting updates and inspiring Christian quotes from social media, reading and commenting on Christian social media and (if serious Christians) various essays and blogs - and during their holidays can make Christian pilgrimages, and post photos of their Christian devotion onto their favoured media.

Really-really serious Christians can be internet "creators": generating their own visual and audio material to stimulate others -- and perhaps gathering a bit of extra income from running advertisements, getting sponsorship, amassing a band of admiring virtual-Patrons, or facilitating drive-by consumers to but them a virtual "cup of coffee". 

Christian church activity is nowadays just like any other Leisure activity - except that it "about" Christianity, has a Christian-themed content - instead of being about movies, popular TV series, bestsellers, celebrities, or sports teams and stars. 

Such activity is precisely analogous to, no deeper than, no more religiously significant than, any of the many other fandoms of sports, franchise products, hobbies and pastimes; special interest groups and charities; with which the mass/social media abounds.  

As with New Age - this kind of religious "growth" may be enjoyable (else people wouldn't do it); but it has demonstrably-feeble religious depth or motivational power; because the whole activity is encapsulated within the ruling mainstream totalitarian and materialist ideology. 

Christian churches here-and-now are just a subtype of System-assimilated fandom - and have no more spiritual significance than any other such.

 

No Good Jobs anymore... The impossibility of Doing Good in a general, vocational or socio-political fashion

I can recall as a teenager trying to choose a future career, with the idea of picking one where I would Do Good. I had a short-list of supposedly-Good jobs, that included being a doctor, a research scientist and creative artist. 

I became a doctor eventually, later a research scientist, studied English literature (explicitly trying to work with a creative kind of criticism and scholarship), and did some (more-or-less) creative writing on a frequent basis. 

All of which, serially, made me realize that these once-Good works were - at least in the late 20th-early 21st century - not really about doing Good. 

What Good these social activities did was partial, temporary, declining, and even (increasingly) inverting into net-harm. 

And anyway, from an atheist-materialist basis, there is no real Good that can be done - since Good is arbitrary and subject to redefinition and reversal. People can be made happier or more fulfilled... at a price, to some extent and for a brief time. 

Human suffering may be alleviated - but only somewhat and temporarily (because everybody dies, and some problems are too hard to solve) - and often at the cost of increased suffering in the long-term, or for other people. 

In sum; there is no path by which humans can really-do real-Good; and almost all of those who mistakenly believe their is such a path and they themselves are following it; can easily be seen (from a Christian perspective) to be on the side of evil - and doing actual harm to themselves and others. 

For example I mean those (mostly leftists) who are 'active' in political causes, charitable causes, 'health' services', 'education', Law and (pseudo-) science. 

These are - often - obedient servants of evil; whose corruption is so extreme that they have inverted their values; such that creating suffering, encouraging sin, inducing fear and despair, deleting meaning and purpose from life - all such actual evils have come to be seen as positive and constructive acts. 

Because the world of public discourse and institution is so corrupt and evil-affiliated; then there is no objective and material Good that anyone can follow - not even in the Christian churches. 

It was once the case that working for a decent church was genuine Good Work; but now the major churches (of the kind one can work for) are significantly (and increasingly) assimilated to the agenda of evil; and have taken on several or all of the core Litmus Test policies of strategic totalitarian corruption and value-inversion. 

All significant institutions of The West are corrupt and 'converged' - so that serving the institutional churches (by church-focused evangelism, church development and foundation etc.) are nowadays Not ways of Doing-Good. 

We may still Do Good in The West; but not by taking up the cause, or following the path, of any pre-established Institution: there are no longer any 'Good jobs' or careers. 

We must do Good starting from our-selves and with guidance from the Holy Ghost. 

We must, in other words, mostly work it out for ourselves; and any advice we choose to follow, requires to be selected and discerned - and not accepted on the basis of institutional provenance. 

Consequently, it would be expected that people who are really Doing Good will be doing specific and personal Good; therefore may potentially be found in a wide variety of places and situations (including a wide variety of churches)...

And such people are less and less likely to be concentrated in particular social niches/ institutions/ jobs/ religions/ denominations/ or congregations. 

Dishonesty - The biggest, most important sin in the world?

You would have thought that anybody who worked in any kind of job in (or interacting-with) any kind of bureaucratic large institution, organisation, corporation... would recognise the pervasive - daily, hourly - corruption. 

And would therefore adjust their expectations of corruption when it came to... oh, I don't know... elections? 

Yet people continue to assume the null hypothesis of No Corruption, of Systematic Honesty. Truthfulness until otherwise 'proven' (and each item of proof treated the same - if there is any other explanation than dishonesty (and of course there always is) then it should be preferred.

 

How are so many people missing such a vast Fact about our civilization, that it been becoming more corrupt for decades, and that the corruption is accelerating month by month in the year of 2020? 

(2020! - the Year of the Lie! - the Year of the Biggest Lie in the history of the world!)

How can they miss this corruption, exclude it by assumption and by argument?

 

Well, they do miss it, because the corruption is itself concealed by pervasive, systematic, compulsory dishonesty - which affects almost everybody, and everybody at high and middling levels in all large bureaucracies/ organisations.

Generalised, severe, pervasive corruption naturally conceals specific instances. And when (as now) there is enough corruption; specific instances become un-proveable... 

When everybody is lying all the time; why pick on a particular person, time, place for special attention? 

 

People have become so used-to public relations, advertsing, hype, spin, selection, distortion; to manipulation and propaganda... that nearly-all people are adapted to dishonesty in its multitude of manifestations. They have long since ceased to notice it. 

Dishonesty can become such an ingrained habit that awareness of lying gets buried very deep; that the slightest insinuation of the plain fact that most people are dishonest for their own advantage nearly all the time (especially during their working hours and social interactions), is met by outraged, indignant incredulity. 

The point is that dishonesty is so normal that people are not even trying to be truthful - and operate on a mixture of obedience and expediency. 

 

After all - who is responsible for societal honesty? 

At what level is honesty regarded as normal, necessary, mandatory? Obviously national leaders and corporate bosses are the biggest liars of all. And the people at the bottom are expected to obey, or be sacked. But nobody at any point of the unified global bureaucracy and hierarchy of the linked social institutions is expected or allowed to be wholly honest in intention and expression. 

Not 'scientists', not scholars nor academics - not anybody At All. 

 

Everybody (here, now, 2020) is pursuing some other primary agenda than it says on the tin - every institution is thus, in itself, A Lie. 

Organisations pretend to focus on health services, educaton, policing, religion, whatever... but the bottom line is always and everywhere leftist socio-politics: that is, all institutions are converged onto the mainstream Global Establishment line as expressed by mainstream media, international bureaucracy and the dominant nations; whatever that line is on any particular day.

Since the Global Establishment is purposively-evil (strategically working against God and creation); then it means that as many as possible of the assumptions of the mainstream are designed to pursue and cover the workings of evil. As of 2020 this domination of assumptions by purposive evil is itself an established fact. 

 

And this means that truth telling is no longer about facts, but must be about assumptions. 

Have you ever tried even rasining and questioning assumptions in a bureaucratic setting? You will be treated as devious and evasive not honest. (Or else as childish, or else as insane.)

And when one of those assumptions you expose and challenge is that of the honesty of the bureaucracy?... 

 

It is the world-blanketing culture of pervasive, insensible, denied dishonesty that serves as cover for all the many other major, systemic evils; it serves as a cover for the entire web of Big Lies that makes up the world of public discourse.

 

There is apparently no limit to the power of Big Lies in such as world as we inhabit. The whole world can be bankrupted over a total fabrication such as the Climate Agenda; can be shut down ad incrementally destroyed over a trivial infection to be managed by unconnected, false and human-destructive policies; can operate on the basis of official personal, sexual and racial assumptions and procedures that are an inversion of truth and reality... 

And so on. 

Yet people, official people, worldly people, people who would know from experience, if they were capable of learning from experience... such people persist in regarding honesty as the norm - and demand literally-impossible levels of 'proof' for the blatantly obvious. 

In 2020 there is nothing more false than a fact-checked 'fact'; nothing closer to reality than officially-labelled 'fake' news; nothing more arbitrary than authoritative sources; nothing quite so distorted and agenda-driven as objective statistics... 

Dishonesty is - surely - the biggest and baddest sin in this modern world: it is the Master Sin - the sin that hides and encourages all other sins. 

And precisely because dishonesty so big, so integral The System, and as-of 2020 The System is everywhere: dishonesty is (all-but) invisible. 

 

Can Christians build a Good counter-culture?

No! - it is way too late, anyway; but the developed Christian counter-cultures (e.g. Roman Catholic, evangelical, Mormon) have all failed, converged, and gone over to the enemy - as have the churches themselves. 

Why suppose new counter-cultures would do better, with less backing and under far more adverse conditions? 

And when people say 'we' should build alternative (Christian, or 'right wing') institutions - it needs to be asked who exactly is this 'we' who are going to build and fund them? Is it the same 'we' who instantly and eagerly falls into line with whatever is today's media-stoked frenzy? 

It is the the same 'we' who - on the mere say-so of the most global, dishonest and evil-controlled media in history - last month instantly adopted an historically-unprecedented pseudo-moralizing frenzy against the Fire Nation. 

And a few months before that it was a climate emergency, or systemic racism, and the birdemic and its peck - each took a turn as the most overwhelmingly important issue ever. 

Or perhaps the 'we' that is so aggressively enthusiastic about the necessity of poisoning and mutilating and grooming more and ever-more and ever-younger children (aka the transagenda). 

Or the 'we' who quietly go along with subsidizing more and ever-more millions of migrants; intentionally directed by globalist billionaires to subvert, disrupt and overwhelm all Western nations?

Where are the 'we' who are numerous and organized enough to resist these grossly and urgently destructive campaigns - by serious and deep thought and understanding, by words, by non-cooperation, by taking any kind of personal risk, or making any kind of up-front personal sacrifice?

Surely not the legions of internet posters and commenters who are too intimidated even to use their own names? Can we seriously expect pseudonymous tough-talkers to stick their heads above the parapet and make a counter-culture, when the 'shooting' starts and sacrifices must be made? 

If there are many such 'we' then they are certainly keeping quiet about it. 

  

The deep problem is that - here and now - culture is itself secular, leftist - hence demon-affiliated. The counter-culture cannot help but be 'culture' - and it will thereby be coerced and bribed into ideological conformity. 

Culture - by whatever definition - has comprehensively failed. It is, indeed, culture that is the major agent of evil. 

The Christian who recognizes the purposive and dominating evil of these End Times will search in vain for even the germ of a counter-culture to cut-off-from and join-the-fight-against the mainstream; because all the self-styled alternative cultures are lethally compromised by their complicity in the mainstream culture (which is itself The Problem). 

How can a genuinely 'counter'-culture become established and thrive when law, finance, corporations, politicians, educational systems, the major churches of all denominations, and the coordinated mass media are All against them? 

It is up to individuals to resist the evil, leftist Satan affiliated culture - which they can do, in a thousand ways, large and small - every hour of every day; by thought (primarily), word, and deed.

Yet too many Christians are crippled in this task by their residual loyalty and obedience to some or another fragment of the evil-culture; which they have dishonestly convinced themselves (without a shred of plausible evidence) can be reformed and reoriented from evil to God; despite the lack of recognition or repentance from the organization and their leaders, of their many and deep sins. 

It is as if Christians imagine our God is a magical mind-controller, who can 'save us' by casting a spell to 'make everyone Good'; rather than a creator who has always worked through the free agency of Men.

And without individual Men who choose to repent their complicity with evil, and tear away from the vortex of damnation into which culture and its institutions have enthusiastically-jumped; without individual Men who will lend their personal insight and efforts to God's work - then God can do nothing to help us. 

God can, does and will keep on giving us chances - but if we consistently refuse these chances: God can do nothing. And we will endure the consequences of our apostasy (and even then will fail to recognize that this is what we have our-selves chosen). 

God can only help those who first choose (as individuals) to help themselves. 

God can also help groups or cultures who help themselves - however, at present, there are none such; not of any size and power. 

But for those who choose again-and-again to believe, obey and follow evil Men, Groups and The Culture down the path of damnation - God can do nothing. 

Ritual-Ceremonial Magic is nowadays (yet) another externally-imposed and institutional belief-set - hence probably net-evil

I continue to be intrigued by 'ritual' or 'ceremonial' magic, which in the UK was,  I believe, often (in the practice of such as Dion Fortune and Gareth Knight) a valid means of Christian living - up into the middle 20th century. 

But (I think) is nowadays insufficiently-effective (that is; insufficient to resist the strategic evils of our society and civilization) - or net-malign an influence (i.e. when it has 'converged' with the values of globalist-media-totalitarianism). 

This is because ritual magic was (it seems) rooted in the learning and repeated practice of directed imagination. Initiates were trained by being told what to do, and what to think about or imagine: what to visualize and to feel - while doing prescribed rituals or exercises. 

And the rituals or exercises were repeated multiple times; so that performing them either in real life, or in imagination, would lead to these inner sensory and emotional outcomes. At the end of such training, initiates were able to control their own responses to rituals, symbols, narratives ("path-workings") so as to experience them intensely. 

Beyond this, magic works by making 'contacts' with spiritual beings; and these beings were traditionally specifically named and sought - although in later years there was also the possibility of seeking a contact, making contact, and then (perhaps) finding out who that was (to a greater or lesser degree). (By this stage, Magic had begun to overlap substantially with New Age "channeling", in its various manifestations.) 

The purpose of these spirit contacts was perhaps instructional - intended to get information from the contacts; and partly the actual process of interaction with a contact may itself provide intense experiences of consciousness.  

So, for its adherents, magic could provide information about the nature and functioning of the world; and enable the initiate to have experiences of more intense consciousness - imaginations that are visual, auditory or via any other perceptual sense; and accompanied by strong emotions. 

Consequently, the motivational power of a magical kind of Christianity could be enhanced - in directions that depended upon the content of material that was being inculcated, top-down; by the magical society or individual leader.  

This type of Magical practice recognizes that Modern Man can and does (unavoidably) 'make his experienced-reality'; which is the 'reality' he knows and lives-by. Magic responds to this, by attempting to train people to make a more-or-less standard particular and desired reality for the members of a particular magical group. 

In other words; reality is given to magical adherents in a top-down fashion, analogous to the situation ins a traditional church. 

And this is exactly why I believe that ritual/ ceremonial magic has become essentially obsolete. 

Almost all institutions and formal groups have nowadays become converged with the secular-leftist materialism and its Litmus Test issues via which this agenda-of-evil is being pursued throughout Western civilization, and the places and people influenced by it. 

Since organizations are compulsorily politicized by bureaucratic means and through relentless mass-social media pressure (and usually politicized willingly, enthusiastically; since this evil corruption is so widespread among the masses); then this will affect more and more of the activities of ritual magic - the content of which is more and more leftist hence evil. 

In other words; ritual-ceremonial magic is susceptible to exactly the form of corruption that are the "Christian" churches; and for the same reasons. 

Men make their own experienced-reality - but the only true reality corresponds with that of God's creation. All others oppose created-reality, and lead away from resurrection to eternal Heavenly life. They lead, indeed; to self-chosen, self-made, self-imprisoning hells - of various kinds. 

I believe that already and increasingly; all forms of top-down influence are net-evil (that is, they contain some Good, because all that is created contains some Good - but overall and by motivation they are evil); that is. they are encouraging and enforcing one or many of the false realities in opposition to divine creation. 

As of 2023, these top-down experienced-realities are not just destructive of truth and Goodness; but often invert real values: therefore the methods of ritual magic, insofar as they retain effect, will tend to be dishonest and enforcing of lies; will tend to support and promote sin; will call ugliness beauty and reject the truly-beautiful as being ugly and oppressive.  

My conclusion is that here-and-now we cannot trust the content or motivations of any external sources - including magical traditions or societies; because they will very probably, implicitly if not explicitly, be training us in ways-of-being that net-oppose divine creation and serve the powers of evil.  

Group-ish and top-down (e.g. initiatory) practices that were possible, effective and overall Good just a century ago, or eve more recently; now almost always are the opposite; and are either merely ineffective or feeble, or else their power is harnessed against the divine and transcendental values. 

Like it or not; we are forced back upon our own powers of discernment; and the taking of active personal responsibility for our beliefs and practices.

And - as part of this - a recognition that our defense against corruption and possibility of pursuing Good is almost always by becoming aware-of, and actively-choosing-of, much that used to be unconscious, passive, taken for granted, taken on trust. 

Gareth Knight (reigning Greatest Living Englishman) has died

I have just heard that Gareth Knight - real name Basil Wilby - died on 1 March of this year at the ripe old age of ninety-one. 

Knight was a continuation of the 'pantheon' of Romantic Christian writers - and was for me, after the death of Geoffrey Ashe, a strong candidate for Greatest Living Englishman; albeit holding that title only for a few weeks... 

And now that GK has left this mortal life, there are no obvious candidates to take over the role. 

I have written about his work several times on this blog; and William Wildblood wrote about his books on Albion Awakening. GK was a ritual magic practitioner, scholar and author - probably the most known and respected 'magician' in the British Isles. 

(Despite or because of which; his passing seems to have gone unremarked in the mainstream mass media.) 

William and I agree that Experience of the Inner Worlds is probably the best of his many worthwhile and enjoyable books. Others I especially liked included his autobiography I called it magic, and The magical world of the Inklings; also his books about Dion Fortune (to whom he was probably the spiritual successor); these served to introduce me to the life and work of this brilliant and appealing woman-genius. 

Knight convinced me of two things. 

First; by his life, writings and example; that magic could be a valid path of Romantic Christianity; albeit that the roots in Christianity seem substantially to have disappeared from contemporary magical practitioners - and indeed a hostility is more evident. 

(Like all institutions over the past century, the world of ritual magic practitioners has by-now 'converged', and substantially assimilated to (subordinated to) leftist politics.) 

Secondly; that the power of ritual magic dwindled through the twentieth century. 

Magic began as practiced by highly organized and hierarchical societies, practicing formal rituals that reliably producing highly objective-seeming results; and being almost a vocation (like a priesthood). But later, incrementally, magic became more improvisatory, more subjective; and more dependent on charisma, surprise, shock, even trangressions; in effect more like a dramatic pageant, a 'happening' or avant garde performance... and the effects more psychological and interpersonal.  

Therefore my conclusion, overall, is that magic was, but is no longer, a possible and effectual spiritual path for Christians. 

This because of the waning objective power of ritual, symbol, allegory, disciplined mental-training etc; but also because of the corruption of institutions and the consequent necessity (and waxing power) of individual human consciousness - of 'primary thinking' - which is free, generative, creative and more fundamental than externally, or socially, defined structures.
