What a great name! Walter was, obviously, a hot water bottle that came alive at night and take the boy on adventures in his dreams. What a lovely idea to contemplate as you snuggled down and dropped off to sleep: simultaneously magical, cozy and exciting. WHB featured in the Jack and Jill comic which my sister and I used to read when young children.
