Bureaucracy kills the spirit - and bureaucracy is now (almost) everywhere

I find it hard to recognize that most people do not feel - immediately and without having to reflect upon it - the innate evil of bureaucracy; the soul-killing properties of a world of monitoring and control of ever more of life; the world of ever more regulations, procedures, check-lists. 

And the adverse effect that bureaucracy has upon people - on their thinking, behaviour - on their souls... I am astonished that this is not more widely recognized, and opposed.  

My own aversion to bureaucracy is spontaneous and powerful; and has shaped my life for several decades - and much of the 'activism' of my younger adult life was directed against it in medicine, universities and science.

For one example, I was the editor of what was apparently the last international academic journal Not to be (bureaucratically) peer reviewed (Medical Hypotheses). And the (official) reason for sacking me from this job was my refusal to introduce peer review. 

But what I did not recognize about bureaucracy until a few years ago - was that it was not just a result of evil choices; but more fundamentally a consequence of bad choices operating on changes in human consciousness. 

Past societies were never bureaucratic in the way that ours is - and officialdom lacked the parasitic and malignant tendency of modern bureaucracy, primarily because they could not be like that. The minds of Men could not operate in the ways necessary for a modern bureaucracy. 

When modern Man 'evolved' (developed deliberately; as part of God's creation, part of God's plan) bureaucratic thinking was always going to be a temptation; but it was one that Men were supposed to reject. 

A handful of the early (and Christian) romantics (e.g. Coleridge, Wordsworth, Novalis) showed the proper path, the God-intended and God-hoped-for path. But instead most Men chose the path of atheism, leftism and materialism - which leads inexorably to bureaucracy, death of the spirit, nihilism and despair.

Now bureaucracy is the public face of Ahrimanic evil: it has occupied the world, including the means of production and communication, and extends its tentacles almost daily. 

Now - if we reject bureaucracy, we also reject the System - and the System is what keeps us alive. 

Yet the ultimate evil motivation of bureaucracy is evident in the fact of its parasitic, malignant nature - that it will grow until it kills its host. 

And its evil is evident in that the bureaucratic leadership class - the leaders of major government, institutions and corporations; are advancing in corruption beyond the Ahrimanic; and into more purely negative evil of the spitefully-destructive.

In other words, because of their developing corruption - because of being ideological bureaucrats; They no longer serve The System - but instead serve Satan and themselves. 

Therefore the System - the global bureaucracy - is not only killing itself distally by parasitic colonization of the means of production... But also killing itself from within - by leaders implementing mandatory policies for enhanced group and interpersonal resentment; and multiple PSYOPS leading to destruction at all levels. 

The bureaucracy is, in other words, no longer internally-'rational', rule-based and systemic in nature;  but convulsed from within by contradictory objectives, compulsory incoherence, value-inversions and other manifestations of the most advanced forms of evil.  

 

This is why the individual must step-back from any affectation of concern with the System, with Politics, with Civilization or Society... These are not an answer, because these are destroying themselves from both external and internal reasons. 

We now have a global bureaucracy, which is a global system for evil; and the system evil is one that is atheist, leftist and materialist - and which therefore innately has the property of damning all those who live by it, believe it, endorse it. 

I think everybody knows this at some unconscious (and usually denied) level: i.e. that we are in the End Times - although what that phrase means in detail is unsure. But I mean the sense that things are going spiritually downwards and will continue to go inexorably downwards, to some kind of terminus.  

Thus hope is in opposition to optimism. 

Hope is spiritual - for salvation: for resurrection to life eternal. And hope depends on being spiritually separate from the System bureaucracy. 

Whereas optimism (expectation of positive outcomes) depends on wishing for the bureaucracy to continue - wishing for it not to be destroyed by inner-spite or by its own malignant tendencies - or not yet, at any rate. 

Optimism dictates that we defend and try to reform the System; hope dictates that we neither actively nor willingly participate in the work of evil; that we do identify, repent and reject evil. 

The System demands that we identify-with its evil - demands that we want and favour inclusion for our-selves and for all. 

But Romantic Christianity instead has it that our hope be located in divine creation rather than the System; beyond this world rather than in this world; beyond death rather than in mortal life. 

Our task is therefore to live from this transcendental root. 

This task is not easy - but it is possible. 

Why are we blind to the evil of bureaucracy?

Well, we are not truly blind - rather we are self-blinded; which is much worse state - one immune to learning; one which is as bad as any state can be...

Everybody 'feels' the evil of materialist bureaucracy, managerialism, reductionism ('nothing but-ism', the accountancy culture) as it is applied to the workplace, the family, marriage etc. We feel it when in the presence of recent architecture and design; or when filling-in long, tendentious forms that are based-upon assumptions we oppose.

When I say 'feeling' I mean exactly that. It is a cold, suffocating or crushing feeling. We can feel the life being squeezed out of us, our humanity filtered or crystallised. Weber termed bureaucracy the 'iron cage' - that is true, but the worst of the cage is that we know it as a cage yet have chosen to inhabit it, and that we disbelieve in the possibility of a life outside of the cage.   


We all feel this - or have felt it when we were younger (the horror of compulsory schooling is a foretaste), yet fail to recognise its intrinsic evil to the extent that a large majority of people support it by their votes, their arguments, ideology - and their docile compliance.

We feel the iron cage is necessary; and by this simple choice we become self-blinded to its evil - because we are saying, in our hearts, that evil is necessary, and that this fact over-rides other.

We sense evil, but choose not to oppose evil; because we believe a System of evil to be necessary.


If you consider what this decision entails - to feel evil in one's heart, and yet nonetheless to embrace that felt-evil because we want some of its consequences - we can then understand the pervasive and increasing nature of evil in modern societies everywhere. 

The evil of bureaucracy is therefore not so much in the System itself (which is indeed evil, but this mortal life is - after all - full of evils). The evil of bureaucracy is that we have embraced its evil, and built our society, and our lives, upon it. So much that the evil has become invisible.

Is there an alternative? Yes, if we really believe that there is a larger world than that of materialist mortality - then there is no reason why we need to regard this world's 'inevitable' features as also Good.

If Life is measured by eternal and transcendent goals, then there is no irrationality in rejecting bureaucracy even if the probable consequences (so far as we can determine) were deleterious for health and happiness in this world.


The question of bureaucracy is, then, not merely a matter of optimising this-worldly gratification...

By knowing that bureaucracy is evil, by deciding it is inevitable, and then by joining-with The System and 'making the most and best of it in our lives - We have In Fact crossed over to the Dark Side, and chosen the path of active damnation and the corruption, not merely of our-selves, but of our fellow Men. 

So, when it comes to bureaucracy 'the stakes' are as high as stakes can possibly be.

"Follow The Science!" = Obey "the science" when science = global bureaucracy; and bureaucracy = totalitarian evil

The phrase "Follow The Science" was hardly recorded and very seldom used until April of 2020; yet now there are more that 30 million results recorded on Google. 

FTS has - almost instantly - become a new morality: the primary principle of right-living. 

Indeed, Follow The Science has become an absolute moral commandment; sustained by all official and media sources, enforced by the whole apparatus of propaganda, law and corporate regulation.

The first thing that is apparent is therefore that "follow" here means obey.  

Follow The Science means that we ought to obey "the science" - and means that we will indeed be compelled to obey The Science. And this compulsion extends across many major nations, all institutions, and all kinds of organizations (including all corporations, workplaces and churches). 

Whatever is meant by The Science is clearly regarded as of absolute importance; since the obvious intent is that everybody in the world is (sooner or later) going to be coerced to do it.   

So what is this "Science" which we are all exhorted to "follow"? Since follow-the-science is a new dominant guiding concept - and what Science means seems to be disputed in some circles - it would seem to require elucidation. 

We can immediately see that something-called-science became globally dominant in early 2020: what could this "something" actually be in the 30-million-plus usages? What was the international context that changed between March and April of 2020?  

There is the answer. That period saw the completion of a global coup under cover of the birdemic; by which the nations, and all major social institutions - including all major religions and their churches - became united by a single, hierarchical and linked, System.  

This global System naturally included the "activity formerly known as science" - in other words; the new System monitored and controlled all bureaucracy - including the bureaucracy of professional, funded, high-status and institutionally-based research. 

In my 2012 book Not Even Trying I described how real science - an activity self-regulated by the desire to speak truth and an absolute requirement to speak truth; had been incrementally but by them fully-replaced among professional researchers, by a type of generic bureaucracy that insistently-called-itself "science" but was untruthful. 

Before 2012; real science was dead. So the self-styled "science" that had replaced real science was not itself real... so what was it?  

The new not-real science was (just) a bureaucracy - with all the generic features. 

Self-styled Science was not merely real science that had become bureaucrat-ic; instead ,what we had was just-a-bureaucracy. An system that used some of the language, rituals and forms of real science - but was by intent and at root: just-a-bureaucracy.   

The new 'fake' bureaucracy-that-called-itself-science was indeed Not Even Trying to seek or to-speak truth. The new not-real fake-science was instead ruled by... well, whatever ideology dominantly ruled the larger bureaucracy at any particular time. 

So, early 2020 marked the advent of a global and essentially-complete totalitarian bureaucracy, that included the sub-bureaucracy which had replaced the activity that used-to-be real science. 

Therefore: 

Follow The Science means nothing other than Obey The Global Bureaucracy. 

But is this a bad thing? 

Well, yes it is - because bureaucracy is necessarily and intrinsically evil. 

And also because the bureaucracy is now global, and includes all institutions - i.e. it is totalitarian: and totalitarianism is necessarily and intrinsically evil. 

Therefore Follow The Science simply means Obey Totalitarian Evil. 

Simple; isn't it? 

Important things usually are simple... Simple to understand, but difficult to live-by. 

From your point-of-view and  mine; Follow The Science means simply Obey Evil - and all that we need to decide is whether or not to obey evil? 

And 'whether or not to obey evil' will depend on which side we are on in the spiritual war: the side of Good which is God; or else the side of evil which is Satan. 

(These are the only sides.)

Charities are evil!

It is supposed to be an innately Good Thing to give money (or time and labour) To Charity - but no activity is intrinsically Good - and in a totalitarian evil world all charities are conformed to that evil. 

I used to keep searching around for a charity that was not operating in net-support of the global agenda of evil. I sometimes thought I had found one or a few. But over the years all of these have serially been revealed as merely less-evil than average - yet qualitatively still motivated by the prevalent evil motivations; for example as revealed by the 2020 Litmus Tests. 

This ought not to be surprising, because charities are institutions, and all institutions are now linked to the global bureaucracy by many links (e.g. legal, financial etc.). All bureaucracy is intrinsically evil; and the global bureaucracy is the primary instrument by which evil attitudes are encouraged, Big Lies are disseminated, and evil actions are implemented by rewards and sanctions. 

(...Because although no action is intrinsically Good - in practice some actions - such as the classic sins - are strongly-likely to induce evil. As so often the situation is asymmetrical. On the side of Good motivations are primary; but Good may be opposed by many things; including, but not restricted to, motivations. For instance the beauty of some aspect of divine creation may be destroyed, and this destruction may be done without the motivation to destroy divine creation - and yet such destruction is still an evil.) 

So charities are evil; and, since 2020, even 'church charities' - as is clear if you read the boastful lists of "good works" that churches claim to have done - many of these are actually evil-works, and an organization that does evil-works when claiming these to be good is on the side of evil.  

This is not a difficult discernment! 

...Yet people allow themselves to be confused (fatally) by what charities (and churches) used-to-be; rather than noticing the obviousness of what charities (and churches) actually are, here-and-now. 

Of course this is yet another personal loss from the possibilities of life. (That's what evil does when triumphant!) 

Much of human gratification used to come from working with people in good causes; and from the sense of solidarity which brings security. These are things that we are now called-upon to do-without - if we are to remain on the side of God, divine creation and Jesus Christ. 

With The System now under the thumb of Satan, and with the infection of evil spreading perceptibly; only that which is outwith The System may be Good - and the need for discernment never sleeps.

Of course, all sins and evil we may do may be cancelled by repentance - that is a great gift of Jesus Christ. But repentance requires that we repent! 

Which means we need to recognize evil, and recognize evil as evil - then reject it as such.  

The continual difficulty is that we all must engage-with evil in the Systems of this world if we are not to die - now including charities, now including church charities. 

Therefore - to stay alive while avoiding self-chosen damnation, we need to avoid being seduced into cozy assumptions that any organization or activity is intrinsically Good. 

There will be some Good in any institution - but we personally can only do net-Good via a charity when we recognize that 'the institution itself' - in its bureaucratic character - is motivated by evil. 

How do modern people choose evil? (Why can't/ won't people believe in the reality of the spiritual war?)

It is becoming more and more evident that (as of now) one must believe-in the spiritual war of God versus the demons, Good versus evil, if one is to  avoid being tempted into damnation. 

Yet this belief is an impossibility for most modern people, for the plain reason that they are already in thrall to the demonic agenda; a major plank of which is (in the early stages) to deny the reality of evil and the reality of the spiritual war.

People have mostly already picked sides in the spiritual war, even though they deny it; because in the lives they are working for the evil telos (i.e. aim, purpose). In a nutshell: many/ most people have already chosen evil. 

This happens by participation in modern society; which is evil both structurally and by intent. 

1. Evil structure: bureaucracy and the mass media

The two characteristic forms of the world in recent decades are bureaucracy and the mass media. These share the exclusion of God and the spirit; and the reduction of all entities to an instrumental level. The bureaucracy works by rules that exclude God and the spirit; and also the human. the human is broken down into sub-functions; and made subject to algorithms and other abstract processes - and there is an innate tendency to make these abstractions quantifiable, numerical. 

The mass media is directed at manipulation of mass-scale emotions and motivation by attracting and holding attention, and shaping (entraining) attitudes, thoughts, actions by means of mechanisms both explicit (hard sell, Big Lies) and implicit (soft sell, tendentious reasoning on the basis of hidden and denied assumptions). 

For the past 50 years this has mainly taken the form of Leftist Convergence. All the mass media, by now (insofar as they are 'mass') operate within many or all the current and prevalent Leftist assumptions. 

By engaging with the mass (and social) media for many hours per day; by taking attitudes, information, morality and the focus of conversations from the mass media - by such participation human thinking is necessarily trained into habits that conform to those of the media. 

And by participating in employment, and in any institutions that are large or powerful enough to require engagement with the One Global Bureaucracy (i.e. The System, The Matrix) - for example by compliance with law, employment/ workplace/ union/ environmental regulations, health & safety, taxes and subsidies... 

By such participation the mind is trained in habits of excluding (ignoring, denying, down-rating) everything except The Material. 

Success and status in work: getting employed and promoted; having 'a good name; money, fame - indeed simple job-retention; now all all depend upon mastery of this materialist, anti-divine, anti-human, intrinsically-Left assuming discourse. 

 

2. Evil intent: evil telos/ aims/ overall purpose. 

This happens because The System as a whole is converged into the One Bureaucracy, with all its many sub-systems - national and by purported function - components of the overall aim: which is evil. 

We do not know the exact names of the humans (and perhaps demonic entities) that ultimately control the world; but it is obvious that the higher one goes up the hierarchy; the greater the conformity to the evil agenda...

Until at the highest known levels of personnel and their organization (e.g. the multi-billionaire financiers, wealth-owners, and the richest and most powerful multi-national corporations and global institutions) the explicit agenda is objectively net-evil: totalitarian and Leftist; anti-God, anti-spiritual, anti-Christian, anti-human - and indeed anti-planet. 

This agenda is now (2021) projected downwards into all sub-systems by mandatory aims that are monitored and regulated; for example relating to inclusivity/ the sexual revolution and anti-racism; 'environmentalism' - in particular the CO2 climate emergency; 'social justice', and - since 2020 - the birdemic. 

All this means that - here and now - All participation in All sub-systems (including churches) is orientated towards the evil telos. 

And All participation in all sub-systems entrains the mind in assumptions, attitudes and habits that are themselves evil. 

So, this is why modern people choose evil - by default; by simply following the modes of The World. 

By default - yes; but not without choice; because every Man has within him something of God; and every Man has the capacity to learn from the Holy Ghost; thus every Man will to some significant extent and at some point, discern and recognize evil - and know it as evil. 

However, that initial discernment and choice may very soon be lost - when he makes a choice to join the side of Satan against God. 

When Men have chosen evil, they may soon lose the capacity to discern evil; they lose much of what would be regarded as free will or personal agency. 

Indeed, modern Man characteristically strenuously-denies (e.g. regards as 'unscientific', or 'judgmental', or 'victim-blaming') his own innate and ineradicable capacity for free choice. By choosing not to be free; modern man renders himself a mental slave of The Evil System - all the more thoroughly in thrall because of his inability to recognize the face. 

Such is exactly the situation as it appears here and now; probably everywhere but certainly in the Western World. 

And it is probably a major reason why people cannot and will not believe the reality of the spiritual war of this world.

The progression of Luciferic, Ahrimanic and Sorathic evil; related to our loving-creator-personal-God, and to Jesus Christ

Christianity is not just about Jesus Christ; it is built upon several other realities:

1. We inhabit a creation - the world is created.

2. The creator is a God, i.e. a personal God (not an abstraction)

3. The creator God is loving towards all the Beings of creation (God might be otherwise, but is not)

In sum: Jesus operates in the context of reality being the creation of a loving (hence necessarily personal) God. 

Jesus is necessary because of the nature of creation: Creation takes place in the midst of primordial chaos. 

Primordial chaos is primal Beings existing without love - without coordination, without harmony; each Being a world unto Himself. 

This is why our mortal reality (termed Primary Creation) is subject to Entropy. Entropy is the spontaneous tendency of creation to revert to primordial chaos. (We experience Entropy in terms of disease, degenerative change, and the inevitability of death for all Beings)

Jesus offers the possibility of permanent and complete escape from entropy and the threat of chaos. 

Evil is the rejection of creation. 

Evil therefore came after creation. 

Evil entails the rejection of love, since love between Beings is what makes creation - creation is the harmony of Beings. 

The first evil is called Luciferic.

Luciferic evil is the assertion of a Being's selfishness ("my" self is all that matters) and the rejection of Love between oneself and other Beings. 

Luciferic evil therefore aspires to use (therefore not destroy) creation; to use creation in order to serve its own selfish will and personal gratification. 

Luciferic evil does not aspire to the damnation of other Beings (i.e. to make them reject resurrection into Heaven); it tends to be indifferent to the spiritual fate of other Beings. 

A Luciferically-evil Being, exploits ruthlessly and without love: desires that any and all other Beings will serve his personal satisfaction. 

In a sense; a Luciferic Being desires that creation will serve his will. This is why he is not against-creation as such. 

It could be said that Luciferic evil hates God (is anti-God; because God is loving), and is indifferent to Jesus.  

The second evil is Ahrimanic. 

Luciferic evil tends to develop into Ahrimanic evil; because Luciferically evil Beings band-together in mutually beneficial alliances, in order more effectively to exploit other-Beings. 

Ahrimanic evil is an alliance of the selfish. 

Ahrimanic evil is anti-God, which it inherits from Luciferic evil; and Ahrimanic evil is in addition anti-Jesus. 

Thus Luciferic = anti-God; whereas Ahrimanic = anti-God plus anti-Jesus. 

Therefore the alliance of the selfish will organize, manipulate and coerce other Beings, aiming that these other Beings will reject salvation: will reject the offer of resurrection to eternal life in Heaven.

In sum; while Luciferic evil desires the exploitation of Beings; Ahrimanic evil desires the damnation of Beings. 

Ahrimanic evil desires damnation because it is more spitefully evil than Luciferic evil. It's desires are not just for selfish gratification; but also for the immiseration of others. 

It could reasonably be said, therefore, that Ahrimanic evil is a greater evil that Luciferic; wanting not just its own satisfaction, but the stripping of satisfaction from others. 

This is why Ahrimanic evil has tended towards depersonalization via bureaucracy. 

The Ahrimanic aim of omni-surveillance and micro-control is not just a positive aspiration for domination; it is also actively directed-against the freedom and agency of other Beings. 

Yet Ahrimanic evil of-itself does not aim at the destruction of other Beings: it aims at domination, not destruction. 

It wants a universe of miserable slaves.

(Indeed; including the "enslavement" of animals, plants, earth and heavenly bodies, and indeed the "mineral" world; permanent utter domination of every-thing, rather than to kill every-thing.) 

And the Ahrimanic desire for damnation of other-Beings is a consequence of being against Freedom and Agency. Salvation is, after all, an eternal choice for resurrected Men to participate in divine creation; which absolutely entails their agency and freedom.   

The third evil is Sorathic. 

Sorathic evil is anti-creation; it aspires ultimately to reduce creation to chaos.

Sorathic evil is directed against all kinds of creation; it is against not only positive Good, but also against Luciferic and Ahrimanic evils - insofar as these seek to exploit or enslave creation. 

Sorathic evil can be considered a completion of the motivational shift from Luciferic to Ahrimanic evil, which is a shift from seeking personal gratification by using other Beings, to a type of personal gratification that enjoys the utter domination of other Beings. 

A qualitative shift from hedonism, to spitefulness. 

Sorathic evil moves on from the desire to dominate the whole of creation, to the desire to destroy all of creation - including oneself, insofar as we all are products of divine creation. 

The Sorathic can be seen as a purely negative form of evil, found in Beings that have lost all capacity for positive personal satisfaction, and can only enjoy destruction.

To summarize: Luciferic evil is pro-creation and anti-God because anti-Love. 

Ahrimanic evil is pro-creation and anti God (anti-Love) and also Jesus (anti-salvation). 

While Sorathic evil is "anti-" all manifestations of creation - including anti- all Beings (including anti-God and anti-Jesus Christ); also anti-Love, and anti-salvation. 

Sorathic evil tends to chaos; but it is not pro-chaos. 

Ultimately, Sorathic chaos is the negation of creation; the end-result of being anti-every-thing...

Note on Sin = Entropy and Evil; Salvation being from both Entropy and Evil 

Entropy (termed "Death") and Evil are, together, what is called Sin in the Fourth Gospel. 

Jesus came to save us from Sin - that is, to offer us the chance to reject Sin eternally; live without-sin eternally. 

Thus resurrection into eternal Heavenly Life saves us both from entropy including death (as well as disease and degenerative change); and simultaneously saves us from evil of all kinds. 

Resurrected Eternal Life in Heaven in therefore the Second Creation; which is derived from Primary Creation but operating entirely and eternally on the basis of Love, and without entropy or evil - because Sin is left-behind at resurrection. 

Evil via bureaucracy

Bureaucracy is identical with totalitarianism - a world (such as we inhabit) in which bureaucracy is constantly growing and increasing in scope and penetration; and in which the bureaucracies are linked, just is a totalitarian world: that is, an evil world.

It is not the aim of bureaucracy that is evil, it is the fact of bureaucracy which is evil. The medium is the message.


Most educated people are primarily bureaucratic functionaries; all are significantly bureaucrats, and in all instances the bureaucratic element is increasing.

The origin of bureaucracy is that deep impulse of rebellion against God and creation that we call Leftism - and most bureaucracies are concerned with Leftist projects - but bureaucracy's great advantage (as an instrument) is that its evil is in the form rather than the content: it appears to be a machine or tool, usable for various purposes - thus the enemies of he Left hoped to use bureaucracy against the left.

However, the opposite happened. All opposition to the Left was absorbed-into bureaucracy; and became the Left.

And bureaucracy is everywhere. Bureaucracy has become Real Life: What is not bureaucracy is not really real - bureaucracy is The Bottom Line.

Any attempt to attack, must bureaucratise to be Real; hence is absorbed before it achieves anything.


If the material world was all there is, we would be doomed. If groups were primary and the individual existed to serve groups, we would be doomed. If the public world of laws, regulations, and communication; of power, propaganda, punishment were the only Reality, we would be doomed. If what we did was all that mattered and what we thought was irrelevant - there would be no hope.

But it isn't, it isn't, it is Not.

And realising this; all may be well. Because there is God, direct knowing, participation in creation; because life extends beyond mortality - because of all that is left-out of bureaucracy; we are not helpless.

We have a job to do.

"Because it is an Evil Lie."

Over the years I have developed this phrase and concept of an Evil Lie as a concise expression of my understanding of the specific aspects of our situation. 

It seems to be a correct and appropriate response to many "why not?" questions asked us - questions on the lines of: What have you got against the trans-agenda? Why don't you want a birdemic peck? What have you got against MLB antiracism? Why are you not in favour of recycling/ bicycle lanes/ wind turbines?...

At a micro-level, the managerialist and materialistic take-over of my working life in medicine, academia, science (but also everybody's life) - preparatory to the 2020 Global unification into a single world bureaucracy - was pursued by multiple incremental Evil Lies. 

These ELs were all known/ felt/ experienced as wrong, intuitively; yet were often small and could be presented as 'too trivial' to make a fuss about. 

Managerialism proceeds through Evil Lying steps, each step apparently too trivial to oppose - yet simultaneously each step was important enough to make mandatory! 

And thus we were led into the single, totalitarian, global bureaucracy. Yet at each step we could have known that what we were being asked to do was an Evil Lie.

Why Not? 

Because it is an Evil Lie.

Evil because that is the motivation - this particular thing is an aspect of the overall strategy of damnation. It is part of the plans by evil Beings to induce Men into Evil rather than Good; to prefer Hell to Heaven; to choose damnation and to reject resurrected Heavenly life eternal. 

'Lie' because all of these are deliberate untruths. 

What species of untruth varies. Whether the untruth is based on legalistic/ linguistic intent to mislead, exaggeration and manipulation, misrepresentation, selection, inappropriate and non-sequitur statistics... or simply a Big Lie invented in whole - does not matter, because the ruling intent is to lie.  

All lies are sins, all lies are evil - so it might be said that the phrase Evil Lie is a pleonasm - yet I am sure that the phrase including both words does some extra work compared with either component word alone. 

The lie is a particular kind of evil - perhaps the single most prevalent evil of the modern world. 

To call a lie intrinsically evil is correct - but 'Evil Lie' takes the particular and assigns it to a general category - when what is required is some response to that particular. 

Our damnation in modernity is, it seems, being accomplished mainly by lies. So, from 2020 there are no gratuitous lies; all lies are purposive. 

Every lie proposed and accepted adds to the apparatus of evil.  

Just to say some-thing is a lie, without also mentioning evil; is inadequate. Indeed, it can be counter-productive for a Christian. 

For instance the birdemic peck is a lie, built upon lies - everything about the birdemic is a lie (its identity, nature, origin, significance); everything about the birdemic response is a lie (that it is necessary, or useful, or the value of its components, and failure of cost-benefit consideration) - and the peck is a lie at every level from its necessity on down to embrace every substantive assertion and statement about it.

But to the modern mind, failure to go-along-with a web-of-lies itself requires justification; because, after all, the mainstream dominant political ideology of the world is leftism; which is itself a web-of-lies. To the modern mind, a web-of-lies is a 'good thing' whenever it is deployed to assist a leftist agenda (e.g. socialism, feminism, antiracism...). 

So, it is in practice necessary to say Evil Lies to 'explain' to people why we oppose this particular lie from all the other lies which rule us. 

Furthermore, we do not want to get the habit of opposing lies from expediency - even to our-selves. The fact that the birdemic peck is dangerous is an expedient reason to avoid it; but of itself expediency just sustains the narrative of fear: the idea that our responses are and should be fear-driven. 

To avoid the peck because it is harmful (merely) is to sustain the evil ideology of 'healthism'. 

So; we should not want to avoid the peck primarily because it is dangerous, but because it is an Evil Lie. 

If we avoid it (only) because it is dangerous; then all that the Authorities would need to do to make the peck 'right', would be to ensure that it is more dangerous not to have the peck than to take it. A simple matter. 

Sufficiently intense persecution of the non-pecked would then (apparently) make the peck 'right'; and expediency would make pecking the preferred option; and therefore the 'right' option. So much for principle...

The problem is therefore not primarily to avoid the peck, but to know that the peck is evil. And it is evil because it is a lie. 

And knowing that it is evil; the problem is not primarily to avoid having the peck (after all, we might be overpowered and compelled to have it) - but to repent evil. 

Man cannot always, or even usually, avoid evil; but Man can always repent evil. 

And to be clear in the mind that X is an Evil Lie is a solid set-up for repentance. 

Purposive evil is complex and strategic... (And this is good news!)

Good is simple and immediate - in the sense that good ends are a consequence of good means; and goodness here and now is the route to good futures.

By contrast, we see more clearly Now, then ever before, that Purposive Evil is complex and strategic... Why? Because evil ends must incorporate good means.

(Purposive Evil refers mainly to Satan and the demons, and their human servants and personifications - and to a lesser extent to those in charge of the long term plan for the subversion, destruction, and ultimately inversion of good.) 

If something approaching pure and immediate evil can be imagined - it would be utterly short-termist and self-gratifying; thus all evil in the world would be at war with each other and there could be No long-term increase of evil. Evil would, no doubt, to be found all over the place - including every human heart... But each little spark of evil would consume itself, and compete with each other spark. Evil would be a constant background but would not increase.

For evil to increase (which is the plan of Satan) then it must be woven with good over the short term to ensure the expansion of evil over the long term.


But this is a complex business - since it is desired (by purposive evil) that the proportion of evil should increase over the long term.

If we think of the admixture of good as the price paid for the long-term strategic triumphal expansion of evil - then part of the plan is that this admixture will increase in the percentage of evil as time goes-on.

So that in the early days of Leftism, it was mixed with considerable good (compassion for the poor, despised and enslaved) - so there were good socialists, even real and great Christian socialists... But after several generations the dominant Leftism has diminished and diminished the proportion of goodness until it is fuelled mainly by resentment, envy, despair... There is still goodness permeating and woven in - but as a much smaller proportion than five generations ago.

Abstraction is an evil - in an ultimate sense. (This writing, here and now, is an abstraction - and one can see the problem.) Because abstraction is a complex strategic tool - abstraction is dishonest about the ultimate nature of reality - it 'models' reality - for some long-term purpose... this abstraction (like evil) sacrifices short term goodness in pursuit of something long-term that is referred to as a good; yet that is not the way of goodness...

By contrast good is personal. Hence Jesus.

Anyway... my point here is that evil must be complex and strategic if it is to increase; and that this is a great weakness of evil.


We look around at the complex strategies of evil in the world today, and we are bewildered - and may feel intimidated by its sheer complexity and interlocking nature. What can we - such small and simple creatures - do against such an edifice?

Well, the real implication is the opposite. Evil has built this edifice slowly over generations because that is what is necessary for the expansion of evil in the world.

In sum - it is very difficult to be strategically evil. Simple good will destroy it; even simple evil will destroy it! The business of corrupting humanity to invert good and evil - such that we will reject salvation and embrace our own damnation... well it is is extremely difficult to manage, and innumerable things to to go-as-planned for it to succeed.


Thus evil is the part of global government, of international trade, of a single all-pervading and interlinked bureaucracy, of a populace locked-onto mass media 24/7... It is all terribly complicated, inter-dependent, terribly brittle.

Each individual person who is motivated by good can, potentially, inflict very considerable damage to strategic evil - simply by being good here and now; just doing the right thing - a tactic that is simple and obvious, and requires no Master Plan. 

This is one message of The Lord of the Rings... Evil is a vast and complex network, the product of many decades of planning, organising, building... Good is 'merely' a couple of hobbits and their friends; doing good things in specific here-and-now situations (assisted by divine providence); and (yet) triggering avalanches of consequences destructive to the vast-and-imposing, but actually-fragile, edifice of evil.

How The System (the global empire of evil) has "Got Us"

I am continually surprised at how most people are oblivious to what is going on in the world, despite that it happens everyday in their own personal experience - and indeed, most people are personally involved (especially in their paid employment) with the implementation of lies, ugliness and sin.

But for the large majority who are atheist, it is understandable - because if this mortal life is everything-there-is for each of us; then any glimmering recognition of our stark choice is very difficult to acknowledge. So it is suppressed.

I think we all know un-consciously and denied that there is a global empire of evil. The people who are in charge of all the major global institutions, and the people who are in charge of all the major Western institutions (politics, the military, major churches, civil administration, the mass media, law, education, health services, the police) are in an alliance - they are The System. I mean the single, interconnected, totalitarian bureaucracy combined with the mass propaganda machine that is the mass/ social media.

(Recalling, also, that both bureaucracy and the mass media are intrinsically and necessarily evil things - they are intrinsically destructive of Good.)


We all know unconsciously that this is the case, and we know also that The System is overall evil, net evil - that is it has evil intent - although modern people can only, inaccurately, define evil in terms of cruelty and material greed.

But we also sense, albeit vaguely, that this means that the evil global empire has Got Us - precisely because it rules all the major social institutions. If the forces of Good start to win - the the evil empire can, and will, pull the plug on its empire.

Once the power of evil have captured the leadership of all the major social institutions, they can destroy them at will. Since all the modern world is densely interconnected, it will all fall together.

And if the evil powers are about to lose the spiritual war, destroy the world empire is exactly what they will so. They will pull-down the vast web of law, trade, military, communications; backed-up by armed force and armies of bureaucrats... pretty much everything that is not small, local, familial and religious; and they will do it swiftly, legally, officially, with all the necessary orders and permissions (obviously, since these will be granted by others in the empire system!).

Self interest of the elites will not prevent this 'pulling down of the house on your own head', since the human leadership of the global institutions are ultimately servants-of, or even possessed-by actual demons - who are immortal spirits that can personally survive any amount of worldly destruction.

Anyway, we can observe that humans will strategically and deliberately inflict long-term general destruction quite cheerfully; so long as the inflicter benefits in the short term, and is expecting to be the last man standing - for example, the pattern of lust/sadism-murder-suicide seen among serial killers, tyrants, dictators, gangsters, senior bureaucrats and the like.


My point is:

1. There really is - here and now - a global empire controlled by the forces of evil; I mean the normal, universal, mainstream bureaucratic/ mass media System. That is in-place.

2. Because the evil servants are in control of The System, they will not allow the forces of good to take over The System (even if such a remote possibility could happen). They can and will instead destroy The System (which is, after all, extremely vulnerable - due to its massive interconnectedness, and the vast global population).

3. Therefore; if we accept The System, we are aligning ourselves with evil, we are becoming evil, and we are choosing self damnation. This everybody knows at an unconscious, inarticulate level - but most people deny or reject this knowledge; because they do not believe in God, hence do not believe in evil (because evil is that which opposes God and creation).

4. Those who reject The System and reject evil are - pretty much - accepting the collapse of The System. Because they cannot win. Victory over The System is destruction of The System - and that would mean, for most people in the world, suffering and death.

5. Yet accepting The System is no lasting answer even for those who are prepared to embrace evil (those prepared to make the Evil Deal) as the price of survival and to escape suffering; because a 'system of evil' is a contradiction in terms, and as evil increases, the system will collapse from its internal contradictions.

6. In practice, therefore The Evil Deal is simply to survive and thrive for a little more time, as our payment for assisting the implementation of the agenda of destruction.
 
7. Our task, as Christians, is therefore to reject evil and embrace Good, despite all the above - and to do so in a Romantic spirit!

We need to accept, explicitly and consciously, all the above (or something very like it) as the facts of our world; and nonetheless to live in the kind of way that Christians are supposed to live - with love and without fear.

Thus, this can only be done, we can only be Good, on the basis of a sure and certain personal faith in the Heavenly eternal life to come which has been promised by Jesus to all who follow him.  

That is more important than anything else; because without it we will not have the motivation to be Good.

The dividing of sheep from goats - an essential part of God's work

Why is the Western world getting worse; why is materialistic-Leftism triumphant; why are we being incrementally crushed by the imposition of totalitarian bureaucracy? What meaning can such experiences have for us, in terms of God's plan of creation?
 

My assumption is that God's motive for creation is love, and that a major aim is to enable people to choose to join with God in the 'project' of loving creation. So, the hope is that some people will choose to learn from their experiences to make the choice of Heaven.

Since Heaven is a place of love, only those who can love can dwell there - or indeed would want to dwell there. An analogy is a loving family; because that is the ultimate basis of Heaven - God's family. For those who love the loving family, it is the best possible situation - but for those incapable of love or who reject love, the family is an abhorrent situation: oppressive and boring.   

Another assumption is that Men are free agents, and God does not know who has capacity for love or who will make the ultimate choice that love is primary. Therefore such matters can only be decided by experience. In other words, who wants and who does not want love is something that emerges as creation proceeds - creation is a situation of testing and development, during which each person's attitude to love becomes apparent.

More exactly, each person is brought to a point of decision, from which is determined whether he is a sheep - who chooses Heaven, or a goat - who rejects Heaven. Of course, such a decision can be and is often deferred, but the point of decision is at least when Heaven is chosen permanently.

It seems that resurrection into Heaven - made possible through Jesus Christ - is an eternal commitment, and the possibility that this commitment to love is eternal is a vital aspect of Heaven.

So there is a sense in which the ongoing processes of God's creation are a means to the end of self-sorting ('assortative partitioning') into sheep and goats: more exactly a means to self-sorting of sheep into Heaven eternally; and goats into some-other-destiny (not Heaven, maybe not eternal).


Let me provide an analogy based upon my thirty-something years of working in universities. The situation of universities became more evil over this time, mainly due to the progressive introduction of bureaucracy which was also the imposition of leftist-materialist (ultimately anti-Christian; thus anti Truth, Beauty and Virtue) ideology.

In this context of step-wise increase in evil, people reacted variously. Some people disagreed-with and reacted-against bureaucracy; other people saw its evil went along with it for selfish and short term reasons (e.g. careerism); others simply did not regard creeping totalitarianism (towards omni-surveillance and micro-control) as being bad or evil... They liked totalitarianism, materialism, the inversion of morality and truth... they wanted more of it.

People who perceived the evil and repented it correspond to the sheep. These are the people who comprehend and share God's values, and who want to dwell in a situation where such values prevail, which includes being a situation among others that have made an eternal commitment to God's values. Heaven is a place where Men participate with God in the work of loving creation.

The goats, in this analogy, are those who respond to experience of creeping totalitarianism with approval. They are either not capable of love or else have chosen to reject the primacy of love and put some other values in its place - for example leftist political values or the sexual revolution; and these values trend inevitably towards inversion of Christian-values.

Those who see the evil of bureaucracy but go along with it for the time being, for careerist reasons; correspond with those who are not yet sorted into sheep or goats. They have not yet decided. Their decision is being deferred.

What happened and continues to happen is that the situation continues to get worse; universities become more bureaucratic and totalitarian and evil. Their original-residual Christian values become more destroyed, subverted and inverted. And one consequence is that the unsorted are put under increasing pressure, as evil impinges upon them more and more obviously and potently.

Under this increasing evil - individuals will either repent and rebel; or else it will become revealed that they approve of bureaucratic totalitarianism: they will be self-assorted into sheep and goats.

Those sheep with loving natures will, sooner or later, come to the point of rejecting The System. Those goats who lack the capacity for love, or actively reject the primacy of love, will actively, consciously, choose to join with the strategic evil of The System... they will live to succeed in the ever-less-loving, ever-more-materialistic inverted-world of totalitarian bureaucracy. 


The above example is, therefore, a microcosm of what is going-on in God's creation. It is also an explanation of why - in some times and places - it is valuable that 'things' get worse. The most-good sheep are able to learn from 'mild' experience that they want to choose love. They don't benefit from harshening (more evil) conditions.

But there are other sheep with more mixed motivations, less naturally good, who require the kind of increasing evil, increasing pressure, increasing clarity of creeping-totalitarianism - for them to awaken, repent and rebel - and choose Heaven.

This is, therefore, a possible explanation of the meaning why 'things are coming to a point' in the modern West.

"I don't believe in the devil"

I don't believe in the devil. 
You should: he believes in you.

Thus a key exchange in the movie Constantine (2005). This should be a meme blazoned across the world, because it is strikingly true.


In a world where people don't believe in purposive, personal supernatural evil; such evil becomes pervasive and general.

Obvious evil ought to be obvious - and it used to be. When it is the case that people have to have evil explained to them, for example in terms of its effect in causing extra suffering - then we are already lost. We ought to be able to recognise extreme evil as such; but our society lost that ability when it denied God.

Thus the evil of "social distancing" is dealt-with as if it was a sociological research problem. Yet this evil is so obvious that not to see it immediately - and instead to demand an explanation of exacly how it is evil - is already to be deeply complicit in evil oneself.


Because evil - like good, like creation - is participative. It requires Men; it requires Men's thinking.

For evil to do its work, we must meet it halfway - or even invite it into our hearts. Demonic powers do half the work, but we must do the other.

For example, evil may provide visions or words of corruption; but Men must interpret these, conceptualise them, give them meaning - or else they would merely be raw stimuli.


Looking around the nation, I see evil established deeply in many hearts - especially among the educated sections of the population. I see a smug, self-satisfied mass of 'concerned' people, who expend vast efforts on moralising in a socio-political discourse - and who are dishonest, blind to the devil, utterly convinced of the reality and sufficiency of their own 'good intentions'.

Yet whenever some new and extreme evil is proposed (e.g. mass routine abortion, castrating boys and calling them girls, grooming of children into premature and pathological sexuality - and now 'social distancing') these people are always at the forefront.

They don't merely sin themselves - which is unavoidable for many; but their own sins are made invisible; therefore (far more seriously) they do not repent, and instead propagate sin by word and deed. Such constitutes the great bulk of the mass media, much of 'education' and 'law' - and indeed all major social systems.

But these are only the worst and most extreme because a large majority are so affected. All that can be said in favour of the 'silent' majority, is that they have retained an instinctive, unconscious awareness of sin; which makes them uncomfortable, even though it does not make them repent.


Our task in this modern word was, and is, to bring to explicit consciousness the spiritual - which in past ages was natural and spontaneous. We have lost the natural but inarticulate awareness of absolute intrinsic evil - thus we need to choose to acknowledge the reality of evil.

The same, of course, applies to God. Everyone used-to believe in God, from direct personal experience (indeed, we all did in early childhood) - but we no longer get these divine contact experiences. Therefore, our belief in God has become a free choice. We can believe, or not. 

And since the devil, Satan, demons (and purposive personal evil in general) are defined by their opposition to God, the good, and divine creation - we need also to choose to acknowledge their reality as well.

Belief in the devil is a choice. This is no longer (or hardly ever) a matter of spontaneous personal experience of personal evil powers, but of conscious thinking, direct knowing.

We moderns are free-er than ever before, thus more responsible. In the past, people were more passive and unconscious - hence they less blameworthy, but also less praiseworthy. But for us, now; innocence and ignorance are not an excuse, because we really do know better.

We Are Responsible - and this is unaffected by propaganda, laws, regulations, social pressures... We are responsible, we know better, but have chosen the worse.  


Evil has become just a branch of politics; consequently, modern evil is defined and redefined at will by the usual political means of propaganda, law, bureaucracy and physical coercion (police and mobs).

When - as now - intrinsic and extreme evil is rampant and triumphant through the land - yet unrecognised, unopposed; this is because evil has become (by will) utterly invisible, concealed, denied; inverted into a new-kind-of-good.

Therefore, there can, and shall be, no resistance to evil until after spiritual change. People need to know God, know that we live in a creation, repent evil, and acknowledge the reality of the devil.

(We may not know him, but he knows us.)

And such spiritual change can only arise from each person, individually, by choice and in freedom. Lacking which; we have - en masse - freely chosen evil; and thereby have chosen the unavoidable consequences of choosing evil. 

SDI - Subvert-Destroy-Invert - The spectrum of evil

People get confused about the nature, and even the existence, of evil - but if one recognises the reality of Good, then evil is straightforward: evil is the strategic destruction of Good.

(Good may itself be operationally-defined as Truth, Beauty and Virtue in Unity - TBV in U - with TB&V being regarded as real and objective values.)

Strategic means purposive, deliberate; that evil works over time with the objective of destroying Good.

(Note: It is not necessary that evil is self-aware that it is aiming to destroy Good - indeed most evil is done by the self-deceived; dupes and servants of only a small - but necessary - minority who know what is Good and know that they are aiming to destroy it.)

But destruction of good can be done in different ways, and at different extremes. So actual destruction of the Good is a middle term in a spectrum. That spectrum is Subversion, Destruction and Inversion - or SDI.

Think of marriage, as an example of Virtue - a Good institution. Evil first works by subversion of marriage - for example by propaganda (including works of art - novels, dramas, movies...) focused on the miseries and injustices of bad marriages, constraints of marriage, the joys and excitements of un-married and extra-marital relationships etc.; and by laws for 'no fault', quick, sanction-free divorce to encourage the breakdown of marriages. Marriage is weakened by subversion, to the point that strong marriage becomes statsitically rare and the 'normal' or average marriage is seen as a feeble, evanescent, faddish kind of thing.

At a greater extremity; evil may try to destroy the institution of marriage, to eliminate it altogether. This could be done incrementally, by making it acceptable, then fashionable, then positively valued to cohabit without marriage - and removing any social differences between cohabitation and marriage. It could be done by discouraging marriage through taxation, and unjust arbitration - favouring spouses who are the most selfish and short-termist etc. At the ultimate, marriage could be abolished.

Inversion, however, is actually a greater extremity of evil than destruction. This is important to understand - because it is a fundamental insight into the nature and motivation of evil without which it may be difficult to detect and to resist. The greatest extremity of evil is to invert the meaning while having people assume that nothing important has been changed.

So, beyond the evil of destroying marriage is the greater evil of inverting the nature, content, meaning and purpose of marriage, while maintaining that what results is real marriage. Inversion of marriage is a greater triumph and provides a greater satisfaction to evil than would the deletion of marriage from human society.

Or consider the virtue of Beauty as a different type of Good, from the perspective of SDI. Evil might subvert beauty - for example by inducing people to judge the quality of art in accordance with the sex, class or race of its producer, or the nature of the society which produced the work. Or beautiful art may be attacked and destroyed, or looted - as has happened in various times and places under the excuse of religious iconoclasm. But at the extreme is inversion of Beauty - especially ugliness praised for its beauty: examples include praise, prestige and professional prizes given to objectively-ugly art, architecture, novels, music and poetry (this is, of course, standard mainstream practise).

If Truth is the focus, as in science, the Inversion has been almost-completed. The social structure of science (funding, personnel, buildings, machines...) has been vastly expanded; but inside this structure the value of Truth has been removed and replaced. Science is now almost-wholly a generic managerial bureaucracy. The Truth has been hollowed-out and replaced by values such as career, public relations, money, and political values. Science has been inverted, yet people have not noticed - and still praise and support science as if it had something to do with the Truth.

My main point here is that inversion of Good is a greater evil than destruction of Good.

To have the Good denigrated as evil, to have evil persons and institutions lauded as exemplars of Good - such is the ultimate triumph of evil; and such is quite normal and usual in modern society.

The reason why inversion is a greater evil than destruction is that the war between Good and evil takes place in the spiritual realm; and the ultimate aim of evil is to create a situation where people - that is human souls, the true inner self - actively choose to reject the Good because it is Good, and instead actively to choose evil as their personal Good.

And for this purpose, inversion is far more effective than destruction.

The fact is insufficiently appreciated, hence the suggestion of an SDI abbreviation for the spectrum of evil from Subversion to Destruction to Inversion, as a way of remembering it.


Note: Probably the greatest and most crucial victim of SDI has been sexual identity - sexuality itself: man and woman as the differentiated, complementary, binary-basis of the eternal divine human soul. As an exercise, I leave the reader to work-out just how sex has been subverted, destroyed and inverted for apparently a majority of the Western peoples. This must surely count as the most remarkable and improbable - therefore deadly - triumph of evil over fundamental values thus far in recorded history.

Bureaucracy is the main form of Positivism

Bureaucracy is, along with the mass media, the most powerful form of intrinsic evil in the modern world (that is, bureaucracy - like the mass media - is intrinsically and always metaphysically Positivist, hence evil in its form - quite aside from intent, it is evil).

1. Operational definitions
Bureaucracy works by reducing life to operational definitions - which are always wrong; wrong because simplified and distorted (wrong even-when, as is exceedingly unusual, the intention behind making an operational definitions happens to be honest and competent).

2. Procedure
Bureaucracy works by assuming that correct procedure leads to correct outcomes; which is again false - since all procedure (like all operational definitions) is necessarily simplified and distorted.

Furthermore, most bureaucracies are indifferent whether any particular procedure will yield good outcomes even on average and under normal situations - this is not tested nor evaluated honestly, it is just assumed - and contrary evidence ruled-out on the basis of falling outside of operational definitions and procedure.

Thus far, we can see that bureaucracy operates on the basis of constructing a model of reality, and like all models this must-be simplified and distorted. Of course, from within the model errors, bad-outcomes and contradictions are invisible - however, there is a danger that the falseness of bureaucracy would be unmasked by a human being evaluating the whole-situation.

Therefore to make the evil of bureaucracy impregnable requires:

3. Committee decision
Modern bureaucracy is ruled by committees which means that - since judgement is individual - all bureaucracies are non-moral which means immoral.

Even when an individual person is nominally in charge of an institution, he is regulated-by and can be over-ruled by, a committee.


We have created a world run only on the basis of necessarily-false models, in which ultimate authority is impersonal.

In place, therefore - everywhere, at the highest level - is a global, linked system of bureaucratic power without responsibility: we inhabit a system that is necessarily evil in form and effect.

In 2022, Romantic Christians should take care to be on the side of Good - not of 'lesser' evil

It is, in a kind-of sense, 'natural' for human beings to want to be part of human society. 

We are 'social animals' after all - and under ancient conditions Men could not survive alone. Exile meant death.  

The problem is that - for most people, now - there is no human society to be a part of: not really, not by the standards of the past. 

What now masquerades as human society is The System, a global and totalitarian (hence necessarily evil) conglomeration of all the major governments, corporations, financial and social institutions, and the mass media. 

The System has assimilated or destroyed all the large human groupings - including the churches; has infiltrated and subverted even friendships, marriages and families - and therefore there is (for most people, a large majority) no real human society.  

Instead there is just The System, which pretends to be a human society, but is increasingly not even a System. 

Through 2021 I have observed The System becoming nothing-more-than an evolving series of lying excuses for its own ongoing collapse. 

Everything is breaking; and The System is only united in generating fake explanations for this. 

As 2022 approaches, that is - indeed - pretty much all that The System does. The System is consuming-itself - increasingly dominant Sorathic-demonic elements are injecting chaos into the Ahrimanic-demonic bureaucracy.

(Consider the Litmus Test issues. Any supposedly constructive aspects are now swamped by a rising tide of chaos. The birdemic-peck responses have substantially destroyed culture; and are causing mass sickness, poverty and spiritual despair. Antiracism is causing racism, riots, violence and murder - and destroying effectiveness everywhere. The sexual revolution (especially its latest trans manifestation) is ruining all it touches in culture; mutilating and poisoning children, 'gaslighting' the world with mandatory lies and delusions. The climate change fraud is - very rapidly, and accelerating - shrinking and wrecking the world economy. All these core leftist strategies are overwhelmingly net destructive, and on an unprecedented scale. Whatever nonsensical theories are propagated to justify them as positive and necessary; all are in truth gratuitous sabotage.)

The Ahrimanic planners are still intoxicated by their grandiose visions of (allegedly benign!) omni-surveillance and micro-control via a single world bureaucracy (Great Reset, Agenda 2030 etc) - apparently made possible by the international coup of early 2020. 

But in truth The System - its officials and media - is occupied 24/7 in explaining (over-and-again, a new one every day) why nothing works, why harm is healthy, why insanity is common sense, why evil is a higher kind of Good... 

The demons of 'chaotic evil' are winning everywhere; but their 'lawful evil' subordinates are still telling each other (ever louder and more often) that they are on the verge of a final victory. 

How can a (Romantic Christian) - isolated, without reliable support - respond to all this? The answer is - spiritually. By thought, discernment and intent - rather than by some formula of activity that aims to save his nation, or the world. By reliance upon divine providence rather than planning. 

Part of what is needed as the world is being deliberately-collapsed, seems to be restraint; restraint from advocating and defending the lesser evil from the greater: avoiding fighting for The System and against the injectors of chaos. 

This is difficult - because it is - in a material sense - The same System which keeps us alive - and much else. Yet that same System is now (obviously!) net-evil, and dedicated to our damnation by systematic value-inversion. 

We need to do Good, not to empower lesser-evil.

So when your net-evil "Christian" church is collapsing into chaos - you need to ensure that your response is Not one that will simply strengthen the evil-motivated bureaucracy. Same applies to all other social institutions. All are Here-and-Now part of Team-Evil. 

A Christian cannot join Team Evil and stay a Christian. 

This will probably mean more suffering - up-front, rather than delayed. 

But - from here, and with a net-evil world - delay is all that can be achieved; and it is worse-than-folly to sell one's soul merely in hope of avoiding suffering today; when by your actions suffering tomorrow is made more certain and more extreme. 

I believe that a lot of what Christians ought to be doing, is avoiding 'doing' - after all, for many people, what can actively be done at a societal level is very limited - and instead focusing on spiritual discernment, thinking and understanding. 

To see-through the lies and understand the truth is maybe the most valuable thing anyone can do in 2022 - valuable for your own soul, and valuable for the whole world.  

God is in control; but divine providence must have something to work-with! 

God can do more Good with one Good Man - one Man who has consciously chosen to be on the side of Good; than can be done with any number of millions who have taken the side of evil (albeit 'lesser' evil) - and are thereby sustaining the motivations of the devil. 

In this Ahrimanic age, Christianity should eschew doubling-down on Ahrimanic responses to the threat of mainstream materialism

I have found a modified version of Rudolf Steiner's schema that evil can be distinguished in two forms - Ahrimanic and Luciferic - to be a valuable tool.

The Luciferic is (roughly) the impulsive, instinctive, self-gratifying, psychopathic kind of evil - as characterised by the frenzied violence and torture of unbridled war; or the greedy lustfulness that drives the sexual revolution. This tended to be the dominant form of evil in ancient times - and of course it still continues.

But that does not capture the modern form of evil - which may originate in this kind of 'id'-driven thirst for instant gratification; but which takes this and operationalises it in the form of definitions, laws, regulations, and bureaucracy - enforced by omni-surveillance and micro-control mechanisms. This is the Ahrimanic - a cold, rational, systematic form of evil.  

In other words, the distinctive and dominant form of evil of this time, of modern times, is totalitarian. The Ahrimanic is the totalitarian, bureaucratic, strategic...

It is the evil of a whole society organised in pursuit of evil that has been pre-defined as Good. It may be an evil without pleasure; evil as an industrial process - a crushing, icy evil. The modern sexual revolution is presided-over, guided, implemented - not by passion crazed Caligulas - but by stony-eyed officials.


The problem is that almost all the real and serious Christian denominations and churches (I mean the best churches - not those that are liberal, apostate, vaguely-Christianised-leftist organisations) still seem to regard evil as Luciferic; and respond to its threat (or try to respond) by doubling-down on the Ahrimanic aspects of Christianity.

For example, the sexual revolution is seen by Christians as primarily about the Luciferic - to be opposed by better organisation. Whereas the real problem is not the work of lust-crazed individuals seeking pleasure; but the Ahrimanic, incremental, planned strategy of a vast army of drab, cold-eyed, strategising bureaucrats; armed with United Nations mission statements, European Union laws, International consensus definitions, guidelines, terms-of-service, models of best practice etc etc.

All too often the Christian response to the sexual revolution has been along exactly the same lines as the totalitarian bureacrats. An increase in planning, systems, supervision; a greater number and precision of rules; tougher enforcement - and so forth.

This is to fight ice with more ice; to fight Sauron with the One Ring. Such a Christianity presents the individual with what looks like nothing more than a choice of rival bureaucracies - one powerful and growing, the other small and collapsing. A choice of two would-be totalitarian monitoring and control systems. Both alienate, both are evil in form.

One can either be crushed by secular materialism, or crushed by religious practices...


The answer to the dominant Ahrimanic evil cannot be merely a different version of the same. Nor can it be a version of old-fashioned Luciferism; which is, anyway, an impossibility...

The middle sixties saw a massive cultural upsurge in the Luciferic (turn-on, tune-in, drop out - let it all hang out etc.) and that would-be explosion of the id and the instinct, merely fuelled decades of ever-expanding and further-encroaching bureaucracy. Nowadays, the Luciferic 'liberation' serves merely as an excuse for ever-more Ahrimanic constraint.

If evil comes from some combination of the domination of the Genital urges (Luciferic), and the raionalism of the 'Left Brain' (Ahrimanic) - what is needed is the Heart. And that is something new, something untried - but something profoundly Christian.


What Christianity needs cannot be captured in any formula or rule (that is just more Ahrimanic stuff) - in a totalitarian age we cannot expect to protect Christianity, or even to be Christian, by adhering to any principle of truth, or any flow-diagram of validity.

Nor can we fall into the trap of regarding anything other than the systematic as Luciferic, hence evil. There is a third way - the way of Jesus - and that is the only Good way. 

We must acknowledge the individual person in relation with God to be the fundamental unit of truth, beauty and virtue. This has been said many times before - but never done. A religion of the heart must be rooted in persons, not abstractions; because only persons can love - yet love is objective, the primary basis of all creation, the heart of Christ's teaching.

Since the millenium, we have entered the era of domination by Sorath - who is consuming Ahriman, as Ahriman consumed Lucifer

My idea here is that the Ahrimanic impulse - which is evil in its cold, rational, systematic manifestation - has over the past couple of centuries consumed the more traditional Luciferic ('devilish') evil of short-termist personal lust, pleasure and torment. And is now being-consumed, in his turn, by 'Sorath'. 

The archetypal Ahrimanic evil is epitomised by a manipulative bureaucrat who presides over a state or corporate PSYOPS/prison/death machine; while Luciferic evil would be characterised by proximate evil: for example those who personally beat, rape and torture helpless prisoners.  

The final turning-point of the Ahrimanic consumption of Lucifer was when the Luciferic revival of the 1960s ('sex & drugs & rock-n-roll') was captured by the state bureaucracy - leading to a pervasive and intrusive system of monitoring and control for political correctness. 

Modern leaders are primarily Ahrimanic - and often anonymous/ hidden/ personally-timid; while old-style leaders were often Luciferic gangsters and pirates who cultivated a reputation for recklessness and the enjoyment of inflicting cruelty.  Luciferic evil now operates at a low-level in The System - among the mooks, minions and henchmen; while the ruling architects of evil have an Ahrimanic nature.

The Luciferic values were condensed and operationalised into systemic and materialist form; their spontaneity and pleasure were drained-away. 'Free Love' and open-ended promiscuity became compulsory sensitivity-training, and the threat of harrasment prosecutions. Spontaneity ("Turn-on, Tune-in, Drop-out") was incrementaly transformed into a world of proliferating committees, laws, guidelines and procedures; checklists, forms and feedback... 

 

But from about 2000; there was a further move towards the purest, most absolutely negative form of evil - which could be named Sorathic (adapting this from Rudolf Steiner's identification of Sorath as the most extremely evil of beings). 

Sorthic evil is neither about pleasure nor about control; it tends towards the purely destructive.

If Luciferic evil is motivated by short-teremist pleasure; while Ahrimanic evil is motivated by God-denial, spiritual blindness and reductionism towards a meaningless world of mechanical procedures; then the Sorathic impulse is driven by negative impulses - primarily fear, resentment and hatred.

Sorathic evil will therefore tend to destroy both the lustful pleasures of Lucuferic evil, and the complex functional bureaucracies of Ahrimanic evil. 

This is the Sorathic world we inhabit in 2020. 

A world in which the Luciferic lusts of sex/ drugs and the rock-and-roll lifestyle are forbidden and punished; and also a world in which the global system is being disabled and destroyed - even as its Ahrimanic architects have successfully accomplished a silent global coup, and are trying to perfect it into the grandiose schemes of The Great Reset/ Agenda 2030. 

In 2020 we observe all modern institutions, corporations and every kind of bureaucracy as rapidly declining in efficiency and effectiveness - under pressure from an ever-increasing culture of fear, victimology, entitlement and resentment. 

Sorath divides Mankind into more-and-more, smaller-and-smaller, self-identified victim groups; each resentful-of and pitted-against each other. The aim is eventually for each person to feel alone, consumed by feelings of thwarted entitlement, and hatred of the world; and living in permanent fear of a whole world of other people, each of whom resents and hates the solo-victim just as he hates them. 

And then - eventually - Sorath's intent is that everyone, without exception, should die in fear and despair.

 

Thus we see that Sorath takes Luciferic and Ahrimanic and pits the one against the other, to weaken and destroy both. Whatever gives pleasure is thwarted. Whatever has been created, and is complex or functional, is reduced to chaos. 

Chaos is indeed the key term. Ultimately, Sorath is driven by resentment directed against God and all of His works; and resentment of Man as a loving creating-being and all of his works. Sorath wants to reduce creation back to a primal state of chaos. 

And then - when all else has been destroyed - to destroy himself as a act of spite against the God who created him. 

Such is Sorath's fantasy. 

Note: JRR Tolkien depicted Sorath in his Silmarillion legendarium under the name of Morgoth. 

 

What is evil?

Modern man, me included, has great difficulty conceptualizing evil: what follows is my own attempt, which I have found useful so far.

Evil is nihilism.

Nihilism is not nothingness, because what is created cannot be destroyed by any except the creator; but it can be ruined.

If and when evil triumphs, there would not be nothing, nor would Good be utterly destroyed - rather, everything would be ruined (like Mordor) and all Good would be twisted to the service of evil: like the politically correct bureaucrat whose genuine kindness and compassion leads them to create a totalitarian state to crush those whom they perceive to threaten the possibility of universal harmony; like the (virtuous) courage of rapacious and destructive Vikings or other pirates; like the high principles of the young communist who (with his heart breaking) denounced his beloved parents for their ideological transgressions against the Utopian state; like the Nazi concentration camp guards who stayed until the last possible moment, expending their last bullets in killing as many Jews as possible, instead of retreating and defending themselves against the US/ British forces at the gates - this is as far as evil can go: to twist The Good (e.g. kindness, courage, loyalty, idealism) into the service of ruining The Good.

Nihilism is the ruin, the marring, the twisting of The Good.

The Good is (roughly) the unity of Truth, Beauty and Virtue.

Therefore evil/ nihilism is the ruin of TBV: it is LSD (lies, spin and disinformation) instead of truth; ugliness, shock and revulsion instead of beauty; and instead of virtue, the subversion, inversion and distortion of natural law and Christian revelation.

Therefore, evil is quite precise, and (making allowance for human limitations and sinfulness) is objective.

Any form of dishonesty is evil - which means the mass media as a whole is evil (since it is not even trying to be honest), so is politics, so is bureaucracy.

Any marring of beauty is evil - which means 'modernity' in the arts and architecture is evil. A healthy girl's face is beautiful, so fashions like facial piercing and tattooing are evil. Silence, birdsong and (real) music are beautiful - so noise that overwhelms these is evil.

Any attack on natural law (spontaneous morality) and Christian law is evil: which means that the tendency of most modern mainstream public discourse - including many laws and state regulations - is evil.

In a fallen world, some - many - evils are unavoidable - but unavoidable evil is still evil, and needs to be recognised as such (and repented).

Evil must not, ever, be re-labelled as Good - that act is in itself a triumph of evil.

The benefits of creeping totalitarianism (in My life)

It is a general insight (and one that I have accepted) of Rudolf Steiner, Owen Barfield and William Arkle; that evil in the world can be understood as having an educative purpose. In essence this mortal life is 'for' theosis (becoming more divine); meaning for experiencing and learning aiming at an eternal resurrected life in Heaven.

Evil is tolerated because it may be necessary for this purpose. But such a general explanatory 'model' is Not understanding; understanding can only come from learning the role of evil in our own life (or, perhaps, the life of someone loved by us).

Thus it is a foolish and arrogant error to try and explain what specific role some named evil has-played or is-playing in another-person's life, or in the lives of groups of people who are strangers or known only at secondhand (from hearsay, the mass media or history books; or even from fictions and lies) - families, tribes, races, nations, or mankind as a whole.


What I will do here is simply to explain ways in which the creeping totalitarianism of the modern West has had a positive and educational role in my own life. This can be summarised briefly: the fact that totalitarianism has been increasing throughout my life has prevented me from living-out a worldly life; has prevented me from living a life dedicated to mortal life.

In different words; the ratchet of totalitarianism disrupted every accommodation and adjustment I made with The World, continually preventing me 'settling' into contentment; and thereby it pointed me in the direction of realising that my life was ultimately not 'about' my happiness in this world.


I am, by nature, someone who finds totalitarian bureaucracy extremely unpleasant. I am a natural romantic and individualist. I have no desire to be a leader, but I hate to be a cog in a machine. I am not a 'joiner' and tended to fall-out, or become disaffected, with almost any group; sooner or later (apart from my family).

Yet I began life with an idealism directed at certain institutions such as the profession of medicine (being 'a doctor') and the universities. I loved the arts of literature and music. I was a proud member of my schools, and medical school; and did well at both.

I was also dedicated to the ideals of these institutions: education, science, medicine etc. My dreams were substantially of fulfilment through success in these institutions - envisaged as as these institutions had been during the period of my youth, and earlier as I knew them through reading and the older generation. I craved the special status that comes from recognition by the peer group of those I admired.

But as I moved forward and upward through these institutions, they were always changing - getting worse overall, always in the direction of more bureaucracy, greater surveillance, tighter and more detailed control. They became more hostile to the individual, to the eccentric, to the ideals - and more merely instances of the generic bureaucracy (the Iron Cage of Weber, the Black Iron Prison of Philip K Dick).

As soon as I achieved a position to which I had aspired (and this did happen, several times); that situation would begin to collapse, would begin to be corrupted by the (universal) forces of totalitarian bureaucracy.

No sooner did I plant my feet on some ledge of firm and pleasant ground, than that ground would begin to crumble under my weight. I would very soon feel a need to seek some other niche.  


My early and immediate response to recognising the creeping evil was political. To try and 'change the world'.

My implicit assumption was that there was no other existence than this mortal world, and that the solution to The System of bureaucracy was (must be) a better system. Therefore I thought (as most people do) in terms of a political solution. I would fight the changes - on the confident assumption that something significantly better was possible.

I went through one after another 'possible' political solution, and pursued my political goals as most intellectuals do: through joining a 'party' or pressure group, conversation, writing, lecturing, and a bit of 'organising'.

My covert assumption was that institutions - society itself - could (in principle at least) be improved to the point that the major problems would be eradicated sufficiently for a worthwhile life; and that the positive rewards would be sufficiently great that life (my mortal life in particular) would be justified.

In sum: that a meaningful and purposive life would be attainable.


I can now perceive that this was a foolish, vain aspiration - that the reality, the bottom-line, the existential nature of mortal life (with its intrinsic change, decay, disease, and death understood as annihilation) does not, cannot - therefore will not - suffice.

But so long as there was some (albeit dwindling, as the years went by) worldly, political-social avenue left unexplored; so long as it looked theoretically-possible that the totalitarian bureaucracy might be halted and compelled into reverse - for so long did I fail to understand the nature of life and the perspective of real-reality.

It actually, in practice, I needed the ever-worsening, ever-greater unreality and evil of The System, The Matrix, The Establishment - to exhaust one after another and all of my false and feeble daydreams, wishful thinkings, simplified models and half-insights - before I eventually learned the necessary lessons concerning the true nature of reality and hope.


Therefore, this is an actual example of how the long-term personal effect of something evil - indeed the long-term triumph of purposive evil across the world - actually led to learning something vital; and a thing that a more gratifying, easier, more-successful life in a better world would Not have taught me.

If things had gone 'according to plan' - if I had had the kind and degree of worldly success and gratification that I envisaged for myself as a youth, and if I had found my tastes of such things to be as subjectively and sustainedly-gratifying as I expected - then I would almost certainly have lived my life in a delusory dream, and died without ever noticing that I was engaged in a demonic project of self-centred, hedonistic, short-termist, manipulative and (ultimately) nihilistic evil.


Thus if I had achieved something-like my dreams -and if these dreams had really worked; then I would have wasted my mortal life.

I would have been 'taken' by sudden death directly from a euphoric state of pleasurable self-congratulation and confronted with a Jesus to whom I regarded myself as greatly superior; and whose offer of Heavenly life everlasting would have had little attraction (involving as it does, a loving embrace of the divine project of creation).

I might well have rejected Heaven on the basis that I was existentially satisfied by living conceived as here-and-now self-gratification as the highest ideal; all I would have wanted was that this be continued until... nothingness. 


In sum, without the sustained and adverse environment of creeping totalitarianism to sabotage my tin-pot schemes of immediately pleasurable indulgence; I would very likely have stayed on the broad and pleasant road to Hell - which I had sketched-out in my youth.

And this - it seems to me, is a specific and exact instance of why (and how) we need evil in order to reach good.

Of course this instance does not in any way justify the evil in your life; let alone some other person's life (known or unknown) - nor any great masses of people who might be envisaged. That is for you to discover for yourself - each and individually.

But you can be sure that your actual life is trying to tell you what you most need to know; year-by-year, day-by-day, hour-by-hour trying to break-down your resistance to such knowledge. Even so obtuse a person as myself eventually crumbled under this pressure - but it took a great deal of such pressure, and for a long time, before I did.

For me - this is one reason why my world was adverse; and why there needed to be so much adversity and of that particular type.
