We moderns need to, must - almost, examine our metaphysical assumptions concerning the basic nature of reality.
Having done so, and made a conscious decision about what is true... what then?
1. Acknowledge, in a theoretical way, that truth: that reality.
2. Consciously and deliberately reference that acknowledged reality. Test habitual thinking...
3. Experience Life from that tested metaphysical reality.

What do you mean by "Acknowledge, in a theoretical way"?
Is that acknowledging that the metaphysical assumptions are theoretical rather than concrete, or that the acknowledgement itself is theoretical as opposed to practical, or (and I think this is the most likely, though the least clear from the phrasing) that the acknowledgement constrains all theory to be consistent with it?
Understanding in what sense the acknowledgement of our metaphysics is to be theoretical has significant implications for what the remaining recommendations mean.
@CCL - I mean that we need to acknowledge the truth of the theory, before we can live by the theory. This is because Final Participation must be a voluntary and conscious choice - we have to know it then do it, not the other way around
