On a more serious note, cooking may be considered an art and dining may be elevated to a celebration of civilized living. Cooking can be a vehicle for creativity, skill, culture, tradition, family bonding and nurturing. Food is a necessity for life and meal preparation is a necessity for many women. If one has to come up with 3 meals per day 365 days of the year, an abiding interest in food and pride in culinary craftsmanship are perhaps understandable and excusable.
